Infinities's King

Aged Codger

Mordread wandered down the street, the street lights shining rather brightly. Too brightly for his sensitive eyes, that was for sure. His long white tail twitched behind him through a hole he had cut in the back of his leather pants. His pants...He sighed. He finally had -pants- after being a stupid servant all those years.

Mussed raven hair seemed to fall in his eyes, much to the cat-man's dismay. He hated his hair and always tried its best to thwart his plans of attack. He cut it, it grew. He pinned it, it broke the pins. He put it in a pony tail...and miraculously, it stayed put. All except for his bangs, which weren't quite long enough to be stuck in the rubber bands.

He had absolutely no clue why he was wandering out, on a sunday night, alone. Let alone, in a place he'd really never been before....but that was Mordread. He never really Had a place to go before. Or stay. And he had just gotten an apartment in this town for reasons...he really didn't know either.

His features were mainly human, except the little white ears which poked out of the top of his head and his long tail. His tail which was his pride and joy...and wayyyy to sensitive to the touch. It brushing against a cold pole, damped with condensation, caused him to realize that yet again as a shiver of cold spiked through his body and he mewed loudly. "Guh!"

Finally, he found a bench and sat down, unaware that it too was covered in condensation. A yowl let loose from his mouth at the cold and he hissed. Now not only was he cold, he was wet. And his leather pants would have water spots. What a lovely night.

Mordread pulled out a book from his book bag. Astrophysics...he loved the stuff. Cracking the book, he read quietly, thankful that there were no streetlights to hinder his keen night-vision. Ahhh....book....

"Jesus, Iamel! Why are we out this late?!" An enraged, aggrivated voice burst through the silence of the night as footsteps sounded. The voice belonged to none other then Patrick White - who looked nothing like his name suggested, not that you could really see him in the dark.

He stumbled a bit, frowning a little bit down at his adopted son. Iamel had his hand in his fathers, small feet scuffing on the ground. The little bird had a flash light in his hand, enough so you could see the "They Shake Me" t-shirt and the violet/green pants the child wore.

Let us not forget the black and white wings. The most important part.

And he was grinning, a curled thing Patrick found almost scary - Iamel didn't grin often. And he usually responded to Patricks question.

"Well?? Why are we up? I have internet sites to be on and you're a kid! GO TO BED! Diacyn isn't AWAKE right now!"

"Shiniee, I just wanted to." Pause. Iamel frowned as well, his small hand sliding from the dark mans grip, moving over to where he saw...something on a bench? Another pause, his flashlight trained to the ground, so it wouldn't startle the other being.

"Are you lost?" His voice was low for a child his size, pitched to a slightly nasal tone. "It's late."

"That's what I'VE been saying!"

Mordread heard noise long before they came into sight with his keen ears and lifted his head, noticing a boy and a young man walking down the street, rather noisily. Too noisily. But the shy man wouldn't say anything, just went back to his book. It wasn't any of HIS business after all.

However, when the little boy came up to him, he lifted his head again, closing his book after carefully marking the page.

"Nope..not lost...just reading." he smiled a bit. He liked kids. He wanted kids, but he knew -that- wasn't possible. He was gay, after all. "What are you doing out so late, kid?" he asked, tilting his head. Unfortunately, his hair saw that as an escape opening and flooded his face, causing a soft annoyed growl to emit the man's throat.

That's what Patrick used to say too. And now, he often says things like: 'HOW did I get to kids?! I'm GAY! This is ********. UP.' Iamel and Akuti often ignored these outburst, for they were frequent, and went about their business as usual.

Dark eyes squinted behind those glasses, catching sight of the pale creature with hair and ears and tail and... Luckily, Patrick himself didn't have issues with hair in his face. His own hair was thick and 'ethnic', as hairdressers liked to call it, and often styled in weird things away from his face.

It was a b***h to wash, though.

"Sorry - Iamel! Leave him alone, ok? You're lucky he's not trying to kick your nosy little a**." The dark mans voice was a grumble, arms wrapping around the winged child, hauling him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Sorry about him, mister. He likes to drag me out and - astrophysics?" Leave it to Patrick to get distracted. His eyes had wandered and there they were, on the kittens book. Cool! A science geek! Yes! "I could never really understand astrophysics - earth bound plants are more my thing. Do you only do physics?"

Mordread chuckled softly, "It's fine, I love kids..." he looked over to Iamel and smiled a bit, leaning against the bench. He had been a bit perturbed at being disturbed, but he seemed reletively fine with it now.

"Oh...You know..." his eyes widened. A nerd like him? He didn't look like a nerd...Mordy pushed his glasses up over his nose, looking at the man increduously. "No, I love anything that has to do with reading period. From fairy stories to astrophysics, to Biology and..." he trailed off. "You actually like to read that stuff too?"

Mordy's white tail flicked back and forth excitedly.

((Usually my posts are better XD but im on the phone! sorry))
"I like science?" He offered, laughing and ignoring Iamels valiant wriggles to get down. His lips quirked into a mild grin, eyes going from Mordies book to the cat-boys face, pierced eyebrows arching.

Patrick had thirty-five piercings on his face, one in his tongue, both nipples and his belly button. He did not LOOK like a dork, nor did he look 'gay'.

But he was both. XD "I'm mostly into mythology and mycology - mold and s**t y'know? What do you like reading most?"

Mordy looked to Iamel. "I think he wants down?" he noted, raising a brow.. "I love it all, but if I had to choose...Mythology." a nod of his head. "Mythology and astronomy...My head's often in the stars." he paused and extended his hand. "The name's Mordread, by the way."

His tail flicked back and forth. Obviously the male's appearance didn't phase him in the least bit. He had seen worse where he was from. Actually...the man was kind of cute. Green eyes glittered almost mischievously. "A pleasure to meet you."
"He always wants down," He scoffed slightly and yet he still put the little child down. "Mythology is great... I really like Greecian stuff and the Asian mythology..Inari-sama is my favorite." Full lips twisted into another smile, piercings pulling slightly with the smile.

"I'm Patrick," Beweled fingers slid into Mordreads hand, tightening slightly and shaking smoothly, smiling widening a bit. "Patrick White. Iamel is my adopted son."

Iamel frowned a little as he watched the two interact, black and white wings spreading slightly in irritation. They fluttered, once, as the two men touched, and his deep red eyes narrowed in on the cat man.

If people could die from looks alone, Mordread woul be dead and buried. Shiniee was HIS.

Mordread really didn't notice the little boy's look until he went to acknowledge the adoption. "Adoption? You and your wife or girlfriend couldn't have kids?" okay. So it was a little sneaky to ask that question, but how else would he know if the man was single or not?

Mordread didn't mind that he had a kid. The kid was actually kind of cute...but when he saw that glare he blinked. "Now, Iamel is it..?" he paused and dropped down to his knees. "You're different from other kids, aren't you?" he noticed the wings and the coloring he had. "If I'm not mistaken, your wings look like...a wood peckers." he paused. "The specific breed eludes me at the moment but...You're a special one, aren't you?" the cat boy smiled warmly at the kid. He was kind of cute too.
"Gold fronted woodpecker," He said stiffly, wings flaring out once more before tightening on his back, head tilting up slightly. "I'm a faucet of Death." The words were said with a little drip of promise, a little bit angrily, and there was a flush to his pale cheeks.

Iamel wasn't in love with his adopted father but when he claimed Patrick as HIS, Patrick BECAME his. HIS Shiniee, damnit! Sure, Akuti lived with them, but she was a GIRL and she didn't look at his Shiniee like he was a piece of meat.

"I'm gayer then Christmas. He was a bird when I was 'claimed'." He snickered softly, his hand now going to ruffle the gold, red and orange hair of the bird-boy. Lips quirked into a faint smile, glancing down at them.

"Don't be alarmed. He's just... well, he doesn't like many people. Only three, tops, so don't take it personally."

Mordread shrugged his shoulders. The boy was interesting to say the least. He stood up slowly, dusting his leather pants off, the only pair of pants he owned. Actually, the only clothes he owned. At all. His chest was undeniably bare.

"I'm not alarmed, not afraid of a child.." he chuckled. "I've seen things in my life that would curl your toe hairs..." green eyes closed momentarily as a shudder ran through him. "You're lucky to have someone who loves you, Iamel." he finally said after a long pause and sat down at the bench.

So the man was gay. Lovely. Eyes opened once more to look at him. "Mm, then we have something in common, I'd say." he smiled weakly, though the previous moment of memory obviously rattled him a bit.

"What? You have a kid that eats crickets too, or were you talking about the science?" Honestly, Patrick was smart. He had an IQ that was almost 200 and...well, he just wasn't stupid. But his mind simply wasn't in the gutter right now and he wasn't thinking about sexual orientation.

Especially not with a catboy. There were ENOUGH anthro jokes he's heard from his fasicnation with an anthro webcomic.

The dark boy flopped ontot he bench next to the cat, eyebrows arching up once more and he reached into his bag. A faint rustling sound could be heard and ta-da! A bottle of water! Hurrah! His lips quirked into a grin, "You look a little tired. Need a drink? All water, I swear."

Mordread gave a chuckle, "Science and orientation." he said as he shifted on the bench, placing his book carefully in the band of his pants. He couldn't let it get wet from the condensation on the bench.

Looking to the water he shook his head. He had learned long ago not to take things like that...too many horrible experiances. "I'm all right, thank you. I'd like a kid, they could eat horse crap for all I care, I just want kids." he smiled at that. "Kids are great. Won't happen though."
"I'll take it." Iamels hand snaked out, taking the water with a snakes speed. The little water bottle clutched fiercely to his chest, the small boy hopped away. Dark eyes were still on Mordread catiously, wings wrapping around his form from the front, he allowed himself to crouch down, nursing the bottle.

"...my shiniee." Huffing into the bottle.

He grinned mildly, leaning back against the bench. "I have two of them. The girl has the lower body of a horse and.... well... Iamel." A faint smile. "He's cute when he's not around people he doesn't know. WHen he's at home, he's singing to musicals and dancing around in shirts written in Sharpies."

A soft laugh, eyes sliding over to the other, "Why can't you have kids? I'm gay and I have them."

Mordy shrugged his shoulders. "I suppose it's the fact that I'm broke and I doubt I could handle kids right now, doubt I could handle kids alone at all." he stroked his book gently. "So for now, it's Freud, mythology and other things for me." his green eyes blinked as he looked over to Iamel.

"He's a cutie, to say the least. And you can tell he loves you, and that you love him. And a little girl too? You're a very lucky man indeed, Patrick." Mordy looked distant for a moment before coming to a conclusion.

"And a very handsome one in that respect as well."

Well, he -had- to say something. He was trying to get out of his 'shy' skin, wasn't he? How was he supposed to do that if he kept his thoughts to himself?
