This is the last post in this charity.

Please do not post here anymore. I have officially closed the charity, I am officially leaving.

Goodbye everyone who made this charity what it is. I truly enjoyed my time here, I enjoyed helping people, I enjoyed the help I received, I enjoyed who I worked with and, most importantly, I enjoyed creating a home for people to come and not feel threatened or pressured or stressed. I couldn't have done that without everyone who came by and talked to me. Everyone who came by and said "Hey, how's it going?" without an agenda in mind. So... Thank You.

I have announced to my friends that I am leaving gaia my reasoning and explanation is outline in the pm. This thread can die. It doesn't serve a purpose as without donations people will not chat in it. I don't blame anyone for this as this is time that would be better spent in other active charities or bumping quest threads. I will try to log on occassionaly but it will be very rare. I will be on for the next week to say my good byes and such. Thanks to everyone for being so great and making this thread what it is.

I am quitting Gaia. I have quit once before. I was gone for about 15 months. I then came back and enjoyed it for a few months. One thing I have truly enjoyed is running the 100 Million Charity, particularily with Rin (thanks kid).

It has truly been a pleasure helping and being helped by all of you, as well as just talking with everyone.

I know that people are going to ask me why. I am leaving because:
A) Gaia has become too item oriented. I recall when I first joined it was... in my opinion, better.
B) I'm tired of people asking me for things. I'm tired of people being rude. I'm tired of people saying how great a thing they think I've done then saying... "So, got anything for me?"
C) I don't have time

With regards to the 100 Million Charity, I will be speaking with Rin about what to do with that and we will try to figure something out.

So, this being my final message for all of you, I will be on for about a week or so just to wrap everything up. Communicate some special words to certain people. I don't foresee me coming back, but it may happen. If it does I will try to contact all of you. Goodbye everyone. May my absence leave no more than a ripple in the pool of your lives.

Hey everyone, Rin and I decided that, since we don't have any free time to spend with the charity, we should close it for an undetermined amount of time. Rin is busy with a lot of things in life, I have a new job and I'm moving. We appreciate all the support everyone has given us. It's been really really great. This charity means a lot to Rin and myself. We've both made friends here, had some fun and helped a lot of people. Thank you to everyone we donated to and thank you to everyone who donated to us.

I welcome everyone to hang out and chat. I'll be stopping by on occassion to hang out. We do hope to re-open some day, life just isn't working out with this right now.

Since there is no application for this charity, we will simply not be donating until we (if we do) re-open. The art shop will not be open either. If you want art from any of the artists, most of them are willing to sell their art, you will have to go through them though. Please do not pm them. Find them and ask them, but do not fill up their inbox please.

Purpose and Objectives

June 21, 2006 Change of Plans:

I have decided to change the dynamic of this charity. The secondary objective is still to get 100 Million gold and donate it all at once (probably in increment of 1 Million) to deserving Gaians. That is very difficult though. The primary objective is to donate 100 Million Gold worth of items and gold to deserving Gaians overall.

Original:

The purpose of this charity is, as with any charity, to help deserving Gaians. This charity however was created with a specific purpose in mind. In my time in Gaia, I have seen scams, inflation, ridiculously high prices, people quitting because they can't get their dream item and people laughing at others misfortune. I have given up owning items that people would give anything to obtain. I will be helping people that are willing to put effort in, work hard and act kindly to catch their dreams.

Reason for the name: The objective is to get 100 million gold then to donate everything to the deserving.

It's important to note that while the objective is 100 million gold. I will be making donations while saving up. I won't wait until I acquire all 100 million.

~Rules~

1. Follow the rules of Gaia.
2. Never put down an idea. (As in mock an idea)
3. No Spamming
4. Do not beg. There is no need to ask to be included in the charity. I make notes of people who are active within the charity.
7. Post here if you have a banner you would like included in the banners section.
8. Post here if you wish to make a donation.
9. Do not complain about donation amounts.
10. I encourage debate, however do not make foolish arguments. (eg. "that's stupid. I'm right." wink
11. When asking for a donation, do not just state your quest and the amount you need. Talk for a while, let your signature do the talking for the quest.
12. Don't do basic games (eg. roll dice and get double 6's) in here. If you want to do games, create something new and interesting.
13. Don't exchange money or items openly in this thread. I would rather money or items does not change hands in this thread unless it is donations to us or from us.
14. I'm putting this rule down again, to clarify. You may post what you are questing for. (Eg. Hi I'm <Insert Name Here>. I'm questing for a <Insert Quest Item Here>. How is everyone doing today?) That's acceptable. Just don't ask or beg.
15. Never PM Box Of Bullets or Myself asking for a donation. It will result in an automatic blacklisting
16. Do not advertise your charities/quests/other threads here. Ask my permission first. They ARE ALLOWED to be in your siggy. But please do not come into the charity and post your thread, then leave. This will result in a blacklisting.
17. Please do not swear in this thread. It is not appreciated and will not endear you to us.
18. Do not post canned posts here. They just piss me off. (A canned post is something that is a pre-prepared post that is simply copy/pasted into as many charity/quest threads as you can find that advertises your thread)
19. Say THANK YOU when you get a donation. It's the least you can do. It really pisses us off when we don't even get a thank you and we have blacklisted people for it.

For all purchases, half the commission goes to the artist and half to the charity.

The prices are not static, we are just opening and they will probably be changing based on popular demand.

NOTE: The prices can vary depending on the complexity of your avitar and the pose. Also, we are willing to do couples/group pictures. The price will change though.

I ask everyone to be patient after purchasing art, the length of time it takes to get your piece depends on many factors: Artist availability, Waiting List Length, Complexity of Avatar, etc.

How to get a donation

People seem to be confused about this. Basically you don't have to apply, you don't have to post here asking for a donation. If you're questing, your thread should be in your signature. If you are chosen for a donation, you will be informed and sent a trade. The best way to get recognized is to hang out here and chat. I also peruse the Charity/Quest forum, looking for deserving Gaians.

Do NOT: Simply post your quest information.

Note: Bumping does not increase your chances of getting a donation by much. They are based on you. Bumping is simply pressing a button. I understand that bumping is necessary. I prefer conversations. If the thread is empty, don't stick around, come back later. If the thread is too full, try to get involved in a conversation that's already going.

It's important to note that we do not give away donations too often. We will do often small donations. I prefer larger donations. It is often that we will save up for a week and then donate a large item to one person. If you are not donated to, please do not take offense. It does not mean you are not deserving, it simply means it is not your turn.

Oh and for anyone who cares I found the Holy Banana story:

The beginning is very confusing. Many believe that in the beginning God created man, but this is wrong. In the beginning God created banana, and not all bananas were created equal. This is the story of said banana, a.k.a Holy Banana.

Holy Banana was worshiped by men and pigeon alike, but neiter man nor piegon could touch the holiness that is Holy Banana. Holy Banana is kept safe by the Holy Guardian Hand Thing, and he is also guarded by the loyal B Team.

One dark day all was not right in Holy Banana Land. THe Evil Ninja Spider Monkeys sought to destroy the holiest kingdom of Holy Banana. Holy Banana sent the B Team out into battle, but thier numbers were greatly diminished. THe Evil Ninja Spider Monkeys were too clever and powerful; attacking the B Team with evil devices from the depths of hell, such as Tickle Me Elmos, Barney Dolls, Teletubbies, and Furbies. These great evils were far too evil for Holy Banana and his B Team, so they went to a deserted island.

The Evil Ninja Spider Monkeys rejoiced at their triumph. They feasted on the fallen members of the B Team, and threw a gala affair for all the Evil Ninja Spider Monkeys. Little did these evil creatures know, the fallen members of the B-Team beacme Evil Ninja Spider Monkey poison, so all the Evil Ninja Spider Monkeys died. The only Spider Monkeys that were spared were the nice ones, that Holy Banaba then trianed to become Holy Skilled Assassin Spider Monkeys. These Holy Skilled Assassin Spider Monkeys are now famous throughout the world of man and pigeon alike.

- Jade Swiftwind PM'd me a little while ago with a solution to our funds problem. You see, I started this as a quest/charity. Our problem has been that we want to donate to people, but we also want to save up 100 Million Gold. So (here comes the idea) I will be putting away half of any gold that I acquire (donations, saving up, etc.) into a "100 Million Fund". The other half will go towards our "Donations fund. This was, I will be saving up money for the big donations and we can continue to donate on a regular basis. Yay Jade heart heart heart

- While the thought is appreciated, could people please not donate their starter kits. If you would like to donate your starter kit, please sell it and donate the gold. It is a hassle for me to sell it icon_razz.gif. Thank You.

Yes indeed, we are having a Panty vs Boxer Auction. How this works is:

If Chade's boxers get bought, he will not wear heart boxers for a week. He will then buy a new pair

- It's a regular auction. Bids are posted in the thread. no PM's.
- We will run it for 1 week
- I will update this post every time I see a new bid. Please make sure your bids are higher than the current bids.
- The highest bid at times up wins whatever they bid on.
- You can bid on both. Bu the bids must be made seperately.
- When time is up, it is over.
- You may bid items. They will be evaluated by both Rin and Chade for gold value.
- Whoever wins (Chade or Rin) has eternal dominance over the other.
- 2 Pieces of Art Maximum per bid. (Valued depending on us razz ) (If no samples, 200g a piece is the value).

- Rin will be helping us part time still, but she is on leave as she is currently questing.
- Sorry for closing it for a day. I needed some time.
- I have decided to not save up the 100 Million. Our goal is to donate 100 Million worth of items and gold. Once we reach this goal, we'll think of something else
