While shopping in Barton one day, Pen came across an odd looking pendent in the jewelry store. She'd never seen this item before, so she just had to buy it. It was utterly beautiful, a large sparkling gem in the center of it. Lapis, her favorite stone.

So, she paid the required amount and took it home. She was going to find a chain for it right away so she could wear it around her neck and show it off.

About a week later, when she got up to put the necklace on, she found that the pendent had shattered and in its place was a lovingly kitten, colored like a Lapis stone with pure white angel wings. Pen was dumbfound, but she raised the kitten until she grew into a beautiful adult.

After that, it seemed that the pendents would just appear all over her house. After awhile, she was overrun with adult cats. Gem Cats, she called them since Pen wasn't too original when it came to names.

It wasn't until these cats started overtaking her small house that she thought that it might be better to spread them out over Gaia. That's when she set up her petstore.

Pendents: The tiny molted, gem colored egg rests in the center of a delicately crafted pendent. It comes attached on a long chain [not shown] in order for it to be worn around the neck and close to the body to aid with hatching.

Kittens: The kittens are soft and delicate balls of fluff. They hardly ever open their eyes, and they require almost constant attention because of that blindness. If they can avoid it, they never leave their owner's side.

Female: Females are delicate and trustworthy. They tend to be the more devoted of the Gem Cats. They'll pamper their owners and stay by their sides most of time. They're also defend their owners from anything that comes up against them.

Male: Males are hardy and independent. They love to adventure on their own and will often disappear for days on end without any notice. They're not exactly the most loyal of creatures, but they will still do more for their owners than for anyone else.

Adults, both male and female, are highly intelligent. They can hold very elaborate conversation, though their knowledge of things depends upon their owner.

Also, certain Gem Cats - especially the ones of the Rare class - have special powers that will start to show as a kitten and grow stronger as they age.

The Cases are Empty for now

Pendents are 7k each

Pendents are the first stage for the Gem Cats. They need to be worn close to the body in order to hatch. About a week or so after getting your pendent, your kitten will arrive. Pendents show up spuratically and are the most expensive of all the Gem Cat stages because they require the most care.

The Nursery is Empty for now

Kittens are 5k each

Kittens will only come from breedings. They're the only chances that will be had for there to be more than one of a certain Gem of the same gender. For example, if an Emerald Cat breeds with a Ruby Cat, half the kittens will be Ruby and half of the kittens will be Emerald.

The Cattery houses the Adult Gem Cats that arrive at Pen's house fully grown, or the ones that she has been watching for awhile. The Cattery will be the most likely place to pick up a Gem Cat.

<center>Breeding occures when a female and a male Gem Cat have a great affection for each other. The breeding tends to vary, the more common the Gem Cats, the more kittens are born.

The Breeding Groups are as follows:

Common Gems - 4-7 kittens
Un-Common Gems - 3-5 kittens
Semi-Rare Gems - 2-4 kittens
Rare Gems - 2-3 kittens

Each parent has the right to keep one of the kittens for themselves. The kittens that remain will be flatsold or raffled off. There is one exception to this, however.

Sometimes, a breeding will result in an ultra rare form of Gem Cats called a 'Mixture'. This is when the two gems of the parents blend together to form a whole new Gem. This can occure in any of the breeding groups, even in the commons. The mixtures will be auctioned off.
