History:
Milly was always a bit of a tomboy. As a newborn, she would always be dressed in blue, and would cry at the sight of pink. By her first birthday, she was ignoring her barbies and spent time playing with toy trucks. At two, she began learning how to fight, before she could walk very well at all. And at three, she discovered weapons. She loved them. And so, she drew them.

When Milly started school, she met a boy. And, like most young girls in school do, she grew to have a crush on him. He was a fantastic thing, with dark hair and eyes, and a taste for danger. He taught Milly how to throw a good punch, and how to hold a knife. Milly still held a whisp of artistic flare, and would often doodle little sketches of knives, most of which were of decorative knifes with beautiful hilts and blades engraved with little images. Her teachers worried about her, and her parents felt so helpless about their little girl, but nothing bad ever happened...

The Doodle

He's just a drawing at this stage. No special abilities. No arms and legs. Just a drawing of a knife. He doesn't speak, at least not in words. Sometimes, I can see him move. The lines squirm, well sort of. It's almost as if he's excited, or happy, or something.... I wonder what he'll look like later.....

Entry 1

It was a dark and stormy night.... Well, not really. If it were, it would've been more exciting. But then again, nothing ever happens to me. Or at least, not usually. Something was about to happen to me. Not anything like the discovery of gold in California. No, it was something smaller, more local.
Anyway, back to the story. It was a dark and stormy night, and I was bored out of my socks. Nothing was going on, like usual, so I drew. Just doodles, nothing like the Mona Lisa. Silly little doodles.... I loved to doodle. It seemed to relieve stress just a little bit at a time.
I had done about ten doodles before I came to this one. The special doodle. It seemed different than all the rest, I noticed at my dimly-lit writing table. I had drawn a knife, maybe because I was thinking of the people that used to tease me because of my doodling fetish. The knife seemed to flow into the paper, and when it was done, it looked natural. It looked... happy. There was no other word for it. The lines seemed to smile up at me. I almost smiled back, but I remembered that it was only a doodle, and that I had to be going crazy.
The doodle seemed to frown, almost as though it knew what I was thinking. It seemed to say, 'I'm not just your average doodle, hun!' I silently agreed. "Do you need a name?" I asked, feeling that it was odd to be asking a doodle if it wanted to be named.
The doodle seemed to nod back, and I smiled, thinking through my list of names. "How about a guy name, since a knife is mostly a guy thing?"
The doodle nodded again. I picked out the name that seemed to fit him best. "Your name will be Callix. It's Gaelic or Celtic or something like that. Do you like it?"
Another nod from Callix. I laughed and wrote his name in the corner with a little male symbol beside it. "There," I smiled, and he smiled back.
Don't ask me how a knife doodle smiles, because I'm not really sure myself. It's just a feeling as though it'll all be okay, or the feeling after a great big storm is over. It made me feel happy, good. That was how I instantly liked Callix.
Entry 2

Today I went to the dentist. I missed Callix so much. I was sorry that I couldn't take him with me, but for some reason, I want to keep him secret. I don't want anyone else to know about him. Am I being selfish? Or is it just human nature?
When I look at Callix, I think that it's all so silly. The selfishness, the hate, the mistrust... All the traits of the human race seem pointless. The lines almost chaotically blending together, the white gaps of paper underneath.... He seems so perfect. If only he wasn't just a drawing.... Wistful thinking, I know, but I'm curious to see what he'd be like as a real..... person, I guess. I think I'm just lonely. That's probably it.
I'll probably still toy with the thought of Callix being a human, though.
Entry 3

Last night, I couldn't get any sleep, so I stared at Callix. The busy lines made their way across the paper, seeming to dance in the darkness. My clock read 1:14 A.M. I didn't usually stay up this late, but there are some exceptions. Like the evening after I go to the library.
I loved to read. It might have been another influence on Callix. My favorite Genre, however, is horror. Kind of strange, maybe. But it's true.
As I looked down at him, I thought about it. Why, exactly, had I drawn a knife? Why hadn't I drawn a cat or a bird? With a yawn I decided that it could wait until morning. I was just too tired.
Entry 4

I woke up this morning and I saw the paper that Callix was on. It was really strange. The paper was glowing, and the lines were moving like crazy. I was scared at first, but then I realized that he wasn't going to hurt me. I stretched out my hand to touch it, flinching back at odd intervals.
The paper was surprisingly warm, and calming. It's power flowed through me and felt familiar, like the smell of a place you've been to before. I pulled my hand back slowly, still watching it warily.
A phone rang in another room, and I jumped, not expecting the noise. I gave the paper one last look and hurried out of the room to the phone to see who it was.
Entry 5

After I came back from the phone call, I noticed Callie's strange transformation. The lines had stopped moving, and all that was left was a small knife on the paper, better than what the old doodle had been. A small pink ghost hovered above the paper, and it shot away to hide behind a pencil holder on my desk when it saw me come in.
"Callix?" I askes warily, my eyes watching my desk cautiously.
A small phospherescent head poked around the pencil holder, eyes watching me with curiosity laced with fear. "Callix, it's only me," I said, stepping forward som more.
The little ghosty sprite relaxed slightly, and hovered over the paper. "You are him, aren't you?"
The sprite gave me a sad look and phased out, disappearing into Callix the knife.
Entry 6

Callix's spirit kept me company for quite a while, though it never truly looked happy. His eyes were dull with a sort of knowledge, almost as though he knew something haunting that I didn't. Maybe he did. Who was I to judge? Every time I confronted him about it, he just gave me that sad, soulfull look and phased out, the knife on the paper shining dully. Maybe it was that he knew that we would never be together. I didn't know. It almost looked like.... Well, like he knew that he wasn't exactly real. Sure, he had a spirit, but did it mean that he was real?
The thought bugged me immensely, even when I was playing piano. Fur Elise floated through the air from the strings of my upright grand as I played, mind lost in thought. The haunting main melody flew off my fingers and it seemed to fill the air. Almost cheerfully, the second part started, my fingers working to get all of the right notes. Callix's spirit floated cautiously through the doorway, hovering there as all of the happiness drained from the song and returned to the main theme, "E's" and "D#'s" swelling and filling the air. They both mingled for a while as my foot held down the pedal, and then they sank back into the rolling sadness that was most recognizable by most.
I continued to play until the end, a three-octave 'A' fading into nothingness as I got up, silently thanking Beethoven for being such a musical genius. Callix had gone, and I never knew that he was there, a silent spectator to my musical performance.
