Here we have the House of Stories, please, take a seat and listen while we tell you the legend that brought Tohopka to dwell here.

It all started when our ancestors came to be; the land around them was vast and magical. Logic and fantasy were placed on a fine balance; but with such thing as magic, chaos is normally found to be as vast as the possibilities it holds. Unicorns, dragons, goblins, and just about any creature you can pull from the fairy chronicles or wizard books used to walk along side us. Our ancestors and the magical channels coincided; times were peaceful.

However, with such things as magic and chaos running about, the fairytale was bound to come to a close. Magic was too unpredictable; people wanted something solid, something that could be held: this resulted in the era of magic's downfall, when men would lift arms against each other with their new found discovery of architecture, swords, and other such primitive things compared to magic.

The magical creatures such as unicorns, pixies, and dragons soon found their time coming to an end; it was hard to remain in a realm where their life-force was slowly being pushed away, labeled as fantasies and fairytales, witchcraft, and foul play; whether they died or left the world they slowly faded from our world and into our imagination.

One day a young woman stood at a forest edge; there had been many myths of strange beasts drifting among the outskirts of the forest, ailing the town with their shadows; nearby farmers feared they would attack their livestock: the town was on alert at all times due to this, which seemed to have started many years before. Yet, here she stood, a young seamstress who couldn't find a job for the life of her, she often stool at her attic window and watched the woods with curiosity: today would be the day she entered.

She took in a deep breath as she started to step over the forest floor; each step echoed a loud crunch due to the fall leaves. A calm wind billowed about the forest and found it's way to caress her skin; it was almost a magical feel, really.

Half way through the woods, as she was determined to reach the other side, something caught her eye. Was it true? Were there really horrid beasts throughout the land? With a quick skip and change of footing she started to dash through the woods, but a root caught her foot and tripped her. For a moment she held still while shadows drew closer around her; a small cry escaped her lips as she raised her gaze to the startlingly beautiful creatures around her; they looked as if they had leaped right from the pages of a fairytale.

"Welcome," one whispered to her, "To the Forest of Tohopka." another of these creatures came up behind her and lifted her to her feet; they seemed to be happy and quite impressed with her presence. "We have dwelled here for many ages, human. We have stood watch over the town and over the last remaining source of magic. This is our home." The speaker moved toward her and placed his nose against her hand, slowly leading her back towards the town.

When the girl awoke the next morning, she found a large egg beside her bed; one day it hatched into a Tohopka of her own. She believed in the pup and slowly raised it until it was ready to depart into the woods: since that day the Tohopka have left their young ones to be cared for and raised by the humans, to grow an empathy with their caretaker and understand both magical and scientific aspects of life. When grown a Tohopka returns to the woods, to be with its own kind and care for the remainder of magic that drifts through the woods, simply by having fun with it and each other, entertaining those around them, but being watchful for foul play as well. After all, not all Tohopka wish to be bound to magic. Tohopka always keep watch on their place of birth, the township of Arcadil.

Egg: The egg stage is when your Tohopka will incubate and wait for the perfect time to hatch.

Child: Your Tohopka has matured a little and hatched from its egg. It is curious of the outside world and will probably want to go exploring as often as possible.

Adult: Your Tohopka is fully matured. Congratulations. The adult Tohopka will usually be regal and defined. Make sure you treat yours with care, as they may grow even further.

Anthropomorphic: Wow! You must be really good at roleplaying to get your Tohopka to grow this far. The Tohopka rarely make it to this stage, so there is very little information about it.

A. Because -soandso- managed to qualify as one of a few things: A pet trade, they are my friend, they are a colorist, or they are the FBNQTATTC.

Q. Are these rp-required?
A. Yep. Your Tohopka will not be taken away if you don't rp, but it will not grow.

Q. Why doesn't -soandso- have to roleplay?
A. Because -soandso- qualifies as one of a few things: They are my friend, they did a specifically good pet trade, they bribed me beyond belief, or they bought a roleplay coupon. [See House of Items]
