[Who we are]

User ImageName: Nev'n Toballi [Nev - yen Toe - ball - E]
Age: Appears to be nineteen
Sex: Male
Hair: Deep navy blue - Grown long
Eyes: Violet
Skin: Very fair
Weight: 140
Height: 5' 10"

Special Features:
Special twin-fang tattoo that was the marking of a noble of his station back in the day.

Personality:
While he used to be haughty and cruel, hundreds of years encased in crystal have mellowed him out, and made him humble. He's very afraid of offending people - even if that offense is one of the carnal desires. He is afraid to show his true self - lest that self be hated. He is not very nice to people who treat ladies badly. He takes everything said to him, or around him, as personal - it is easy to depress him.

History: Nev'n was born a poor boy, but his family slowly rose to the rank of esteemed noble. Not knowing - or caring - about his less-than-welltodo origons, he came to treat everyone below him worse than the family rugs. He thought he was better than everyone else, because he had money. Then he started thinking about how much MORE money he'd have, if he killed his father to get his way. It was extremely fortunate for him - he thought - that the old man was so easy to kill. But then he was caught in the midst of his triumph, and sentenced to death - where the sstory starts to unfold.

- - -

Name: T'lai [ta - lie]
Age: Appears to be twenty
Sex: Male
Hair: Short, spiky green hair
Eyes: Doe-brown, like a dog's
Skin: Pale but tanned
Weight: 149
Height: 6' even

Special Features:
Floppy dog-like ears instead of his own, a dog's "china-breaker" tail, and a dog-collar that he cannot remove no matter how hard he tries.

Personality:
T'lai is very crude and cruel. He CAN be very loving, but it takes a lot of effort to see that deeply inside of him [unless, of course, you're Nev'n]. He enjoys all forms and fashions of practical jokes, is very intelligent, and very much Bi [meaning he's a ladies dog as well]. Being a god, it's easy to see how he CAN be a little overbearing at times. Afterall, that's one factor he and the OLD Nev shared. They thought they were better than anyone else.

History: [History... UNKNOWN.]

T'lai wasn't feeling well today - but he wasn't letting that show. It was the first time he had been out in a long while, and he was bound and determined he wasn't going to screw it up this time. He felt a little broken, without his love to back him up, and it was weighing on him heavily that he couldn't even feel Nev'n in his mind. He knew the reason. The boy was angry at him - and fatigued, and all sorts of things. Not that he really cared at the moment. They'd had a bit of a mental fight a couple nights back, before T'lai had decided to go all-out, and pretty much push the body to its limits - without caring what limits he pushed HIMSELF to. His chest hurt - it was hard to breathe. But once again, he wasn't going to let that show.

Quote:
User Image

The sound of tinkling glass was present throughout the main floor, the source being the domain lord. His brow furrowed as he removed the strained of loose ceylon from his mug.
There was a knot coiling in his awareness.....an uncomfortable and distinct one. The sound of footsteps confirmed the source as he looked up and saw familiar feet descending from the apartments.

Quote:
User Image

T'lai wasn't paying much attention to where he was going - mostly trying to focus enough to convince himself that he was able to stay conscious. He felt - put mildly - like several trucks had run over him. He didn't understand... Nev'n had never described ANYTHING like this. It was almost as if his chest were on fire - and he felt the jewel. Something he shouldn't have been able to do, given where the thing was located. He sighed, and leaned against the wall at the bottom of the stairs, catching his breath before he went inside the "living" space. It wouldn't do to be out of sorts when he met someone else, especially not another possesser of a jewel. He was tired, though - and it was taking him a good long while to CATCH his breath.

Quote:
User Image

He let his wings fade from existence, and followed, cup in one hand, on hunting cat's feet. He waited only until entering the next room.

"Your resting betrays you where your will would hope it not."

Quote:

User Image

Had he more energy, he WOULD have jumped straight up into the air at the voice. Had not been expecting that. His chest started to ache again as his heart sped up. He gritted his teeth.

"Do you have a particular problem with a simple HELLO?"

Quote:
User Image

"No, but it does not serve my purpose at the moment." He looked the other over, eyes narrowing with concerned scrutiny, "The well that is drawn often dries up, T'lai........you're killing yourself..."

My magic in him leeches out like a slow bled wound.

"You should rest...immediately."

Quote:
User Image

Angst snorted, and chuckled, still leaning against the wall. He didn't believe the deity - though he probably should have.

"Killing myself, eh? And I suppose you can add "doctor" to your long list of accomplishments, right? How else do you know?"

He did have to admit though - his chest was almost literally on fire. And if the cause didn't clear itself up quite quickly, he was going to end up "resting" alright. On the floor, unconscious, having fainted.

Quote:
User Image

"Medicine's paths I shall leave to her, but I need not her skill to feel my own influence sloughed from you like gangrene. "

He took one stride to close the distance between them, the cup in his hand vanishing into ashen smoke, thin as incense. "Your tongue lies, but your eyes show pain. You should neither be up nor mastering this boy's body yet. Please, T'lai....listen to reason. Let go, I will catch you and take you where you can rest."

Quote:
User Image

Rest? Why would he need to rest? He'd JUST gotten control of the body, and he'd be damned if he were going to give it up just like that. Just lay down and let go? No way in h-.. ok.. Dizzy. That shouldn't happen. He clutched at the nearest thing to him - Harmodius' arm, and took a few deep, calming breaths.

"I don't know what the ******** you think you're saying, but... Nnn..."

He started to pass out, then caught himself, shaking his head, and attempting to bring himself back under something resembling control.

"But I'm fine."

Quote:

User Image

"Your farce isn't helping you." He arched an eyebrow at teh others faltering, "And I beleive I need not say more as you demonstrate to yourself well enough."

He kept his arm out and steady, bringing the other behind T'lai like a spotter.

Quote:
User Image

For once, he had to admit that the older one may very well be right. He let go - his eyes rolling back in his head, and the body starting to collapse to the ground. He wasn't "there" anymore. He'd retreated back into the realm of the mind - back to Nev'n. Back to what he used to be, and what he wanted to be. The body was very, very sick. He'd pushed it FAR too hard.

Quote:
User Image

He closed his arms around the younger, catching him up like a bride, "Shh....... rest. You will take my place on the font of roses. There may be your best chance of peace without distraction. "

He turned with the boy in his arms and went to his own apartments, the doors opening silently for him to pass.

[Broken]

T'lai moaned, and tossed slightly on the ground. It was raining inside the prison of Nev'n's mind. It was always raining. Right now, though, T'lai was too tired, and too sick, to care. He lay in the darkness, feeling the cool heat of heaven's tears trickling down, past his eyes, into his mouth, and out again. It felt good to just lay there, and soak in the oblivion. Exhausted, gray, fading, dying. He couldn't bring himself to move, and he didn't know if Nev'n was feeling the same thing or not. He really wasn't ready. Wasn't ready to take control. He should have never subdued Nev. Never subdued the only thing that could help him now. That could help him overcome this lethargy and black blankness. He wasn't ready for life. Not yet. Not yet. He pushed himself too far. He pushed them both too far. He had to put his trust in his host now - if they wanted to get through this alive.
Almost as if the thought called to the action, T'lai felt a slim, cool, gentle hand caress his throat, and felt himself being lifted up from the shoulders, relaxing back onto something soft - Nev'n's lap. His breaths came in gasps, but the pain he felt was soothed by the soft pressure against his chest, the whispered reassurances, in words he couldn't make out just now. His Nev'n was here. His Nev'n, whom he had treated so poorly. His love. His one TRUE love. And this was proof. After all he'd done to the boy, that Nev would come to his aid when he lay ill and dying - it was proof. Of their love. Of their devotion to one another. Through thick and thin, cold and hot, bad and good, sickness and health. They had taken that vow, in their hearts, if not in the breath of words. There was no anger here. No 'I told you so' - Only the soft warmth of a kiss of life, and a worried caress of love.

- - -

Nev'n's fingers lightly brushed the fevered skin of his lover, and he drew in a worried breath. Too much, too fast, too soon. He'd known it was going to come to this - but he had not stood up for the truth, when T'lai had insisted he knew how to handle it. It was time - ironically - for T'lai to step aside, and Nev'n to take control. Only HE - the host - could relieve the body of its suffering. Only he could fight this battle of the broken one. It wasn't going to be an easy battle, thanks to the carelessness on part of his love. But it was a battle he was ready and willing to fight. A battle he would not lose. He'd get them through this - together - some way or another.
The frail youth studied his ill mate, and sighed, closing his own eyes, and tilting his head up to meet the rain on his face. Cooling rain - soft rain. Greed had consumed T'lai - greed for power and for control. And this was the illness to purge from the body that lie on the font of roses. This was the germ to which could be attributed all T'lai's faults. Greed. It had destroyed him once. Nev'n was not going to let it destroy him again. He'd watch this vigil tonight - stroking his love's hair, willing him back to him. But he would have to tackle the infection, before he dealt with the physical manisfestation of it. He trusted Harmodius to not let the body die, as it fought the fever, and the stifling of the heart on its own. He would fight - but he would start from within. When T'lai woke up - he would rekindle the love and respect that they had shared through those years. Nev'n would show him the sacrifice. And the cycle would begin again - only this time, it would be Nev'n to show T'lai the path.

[Checkup]

Arrikanez
User ImageNev'n had been resting on the Fount for a month now, and finally felt ready to show himself to the other gods - He did need the interaction as it was - and unfortunately, he wasn't all that cut-out to make friends. T'lai was - but T'lai was asleep again. He'd proven he couldn't handle the body - and that was a big step in being able to control it. Too much, too fast. He should have listened to Harmodius. But nonetheless, Nev'n was out now, and was looking for someone to talk to - still limping slightly, and breathing hard - but then again, that was Nev'n's general state of health even when he was just himself. He'd fashioned a pair of crutches out of some bannister wood, and was using them to get around. He really looked sick, but the way he moved, and the smile on his face showed that looks could be decieving. Sure, he might have been a little under the weather - but he was NOT death-warmed-over, which was how he looked at the moment.

Someone who was, oddly enough, pretty much exactly her height. It was welcome, since she'd been looking down on people ever since Panacea had decided she needed to be about a foot taller than she was. "Come on over and have a seat," she said, rising and taking a step toward the man with blue hair.

She glanced back at Khiviance. "And nothing's more important that saving Creation, right? Sorry, be right back." Injured and ill trumped Love any day.

Johnathan
User ImageKhiv's eys flicked to the enw arrival, and as much as socializing felt like the right thing to do she felt drained - in more then just a physical sense. Encountering calcio had taken some from her, as well as the careful word-games played with Memi.

She made a retreat for the steps carefully, almost tipping over herself a moment on a stair as exhaustion entangled her mind. Finally up, she sought her quarters and sleep, to recover and perhaps have a clearer mind on what had happened.

Arrikanez
User ImageNev's soft laughter lifted from his lips, and he took the suggestion, sinking into a seat, and looking up at the one that had invited him in the first place. She was beautiful - but that was not important at the moment.

"Thank you, madamoiselle. I was growing weary of the crutches, and I appreciate the reprieve."

He coughed, and yawned softly, eyes flicking from gray, to blue, and then back again. T'lai was watching. Resting, but watching. He'd let Nev'n have control on the condition that he could watch. So watch he did, and he would.

"Allow me to introduce myselves. I am Nev'n - and the one whom I am host to, is named T'lai. It is a pleasure to meet such a lovely young woman as yourself."

He raised his hand, and took hers, kissing the back of it, and smiling.

maskedquerade
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Memi smiled and blushed. That was a weird--and warm--rush of feeling. Her face was probably on fire. "I'm... Memi," she said, settling down on the couch beside him. "I'm host to Medicine. Panacea." Memi cleared her throat and smiled at Nev'n. "It's nice to meet you. Are you hurt... can I help?"

Panacea watched from her host's eyes, and laughed inwardly at the girl's emotional reactions, watching the neurons fire and the neurochemicals flow. What would Light think if he saw? If only she could summon him, she'd have a day's worth of entertainment, if he would play along.

Arrikanez
User ImageNev laughed again softly, and then nodded at the question. His heart was racing from even having come THIS far, and it was no secret that the boy didn't have a strong heart to begin with - let alone after T'lai's take-over. He thought for a moment, then spoke, his voice soft and gentle, as were his eyes.

"I believe I have something that you cannot help, though the offer is appreciated. My chest aches from problems related to my heart, and I'm not sure exactly what. I've never been to a doctor, nor seen the need to attend to that issue."

He shrugged lightly, and smiled at the blushing girl.

"Though if you wanted to examine me - I wouldn't mind in the slightest - I probably need it, due to a few disagreements of host and hostee."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Though I don't think that will be necessary," Panacea said smoothly. "Greetings Nev'n. This will be accomplished more smoothly if I am in control, rather than walking the child through it." She rose from the couch and stretched, willing herself into every nerve of the body. Every time she forced herself into control, the child's end came more quickly. It was better this way.

Arrikanez
User ImageNev blinked, and dipped his head in greetings to the goddess. It wasn't quite what he was expecting - but he'd learned long ago that expecting the unexpected was generally a good idea around here - especially when/if there were other gods and hosts around. One never knew what was going to happen in Harmodius' home. Nev had his secrets doubts that Harmodius even knew.
He stretched, and smiled at the goddess, laying back - as T'lai was telling him to do. He had a nagging suspiscion that T'lai would like to do far more to this woman than have her look and listen - but he would keep that info to himself.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Before I start manhandling you, I'd appreciate hearing your symptoms," Panacea said, kneeling beside the couch. If she listened--really strained--she could almost hear his heartbeat, but that would make her miss the finer details. "I see that you are weakened... due to a dispute with your deity, you said?"

Arrikanez
User ImageThe blue haired youth laughed, and smiled a bit, shaking his head. Was it really a dispute? Or had it been, rather. Because Nev HAD been willing, and that was sort of against the point of an argument - wasn't it? Odd combination of thoughts, there.

"Dispute... maybe. Maybe I phrased it the wrong way. He attempted to take over my body completely long before the both of us were ready. My body was already weak, and now it is further so. I have trouble breathing if I exert too much energy, my left leg refuses to heal, my chest aches every now and then for no apparent reason, and I am having a very difficult time sleeping."

There - she didn't need to know about the dreams. They didn't matter. They didn't have anything to do with his physical condition, and he'd just as soon T'lai's secret resting place was safe. Not that he didn't trust the goddess...

maskedquerade

My medicines cannot heal an anxiety like they can a wound," she said, unbuttoning his shirt. "I can fix a poultice for your leg and see if that helps. A broken body will break further if the strain of a deity is placed upon it." Panacea neatly uncovered his chest; holding Memi's hair out of the way, the goddess leaned down and placed her ear on his chest.

"Breathe as deeply as you can. If it is painful, say so." She searched for his pulse on one wrist, but could already tell it was far too quick.

Arrikanez
User ImageHe took in a slow, deep breath, wincing at the peak of it - It had hurt. His heartbeat was racing - faster than it should have been for one who was resting. It was also irregular, and skipped beats frequently - moreso when he inhaled. He mentally scolded T'lai again - but it was a gentle scolding. The dog-god already felt bad enough as it was.

"It does hurt - more than I'd like to admit..."

He felt T'lai's hunger for affection weighing on him, but he pushed it to the side of his mind. Enough time to worry about things like that later.

She sat up and looked at Nev'n critically, then stood and took a step toward the other end of the couch. "Your left leg, you said?" She perched on the arm rest at his feet. "What caused the injury? Same as the others?"

My name is Nev'n. I have never really talked about myself before - past, present, or probably even future - so this may be the one entry in many that I actually write. It is lonely here, with my love ill, and unable to speak with me. Sometimes, I lie in the quiet of before-dark, and think of the times we shared when he was with me. It has been quite a while, as I am told, that I was fully asleep and unaware inside the crystal T'lai built for my prison. Had sweet Harmodious not found me, and rescued me by placing me in his care - I would have remained in crystal still.

I am slowly learning of the ways of this world - and the salty-sweet taste of fear... anger... revenge. These feelings are not always my own. T'lai awakens sometimes - but very little now. Mostly, he sleeps, storing energry - to what greater purpose I cannot tell. He has attempted to take me over, and failed. I pray that he not do so again - untill we are both ready.

I will be travelling soon - with a companion, no less. To the city of my birth, through a portal which should not exist. I travel there to pay respects to my family's tomb, and to gather how much things have changed, since I were alive. My guide's name is Noah, and he is the son of a great man - now deceased. It is a pity I have never met him..

Nev'n has commssioned me to take him back to Karai - to see how things have changed in the years that have passed, and to pay respects to his family's mass tomb. A barbaric city it's become, and it's MY job to protect him. He has given me free reign of his... what he lovingly calls "journal" - which has only one entry in it, and is sorely in need of a re-binding.
ANYWAY. We set off today in good spirits, and the portal seemed to work just fine. We're on Juridia now - and I can see that it's taking all of Nev'n's willpower not to gasp in horror. I hadn't warned him of the state of things, although I probably should have.
The boy's still weak. He's younger than I am by two years, but he acts as though he's seeing things through a child's eyes. My father and brother being doctors and medics, I suppose a little of their talent has rubbed off on me. I've checked the boy's pulse a couple of times, and I don't really like what I feel. When we get back to Gaia, I'm taking him to my brother's clinic. Kel will know what to do with him.
Anywho - While he's in the city, I'm going to stop by dad's old place, and pay my respects. I mean - I hardly knew the man, but at least I should attempt to say goodbye. We're not there yet, though. Not by a long shot.

Current Location: S'var N'ri Forest - Eastern quarter
Current Time of Day: Noonish
Current Weather: It's. Freaking. Snowing.
Current Condition: Nev'n's having some trouble breathing, but -I- am fine. I'll let him rest for a while.

Holy. Hell. Remind me never to take a commission like this again. Nev'n and I passed a long and sleepless night, unfortunately. I hate werewolves with a passion. He's got a few scratches on his shoulder, and I got bit around the ankle - but we managed to escape with our lives, and that's really what counts the most. Only problem being - we had to run. Off the beaten path. I have NO idea where we are, or what direction we're headed. I'd look up at the stars, only there are none. It being daytime and all.
I know we're headed vaguely east. I might get the chance to see my uncles sooner than I think. We're in Arrikanez land - I saw some of the familiar landmarks. IF any of my uncles are here, that is. They might be, they might not. All depends on what's happened here - and what's happening back on Gaia. Something like that.
Getting dizzy, and so's Nev'n. We're going to have to stop and make camp soon, though I'm not exactly too keen on the idea. I need to treat our wounds as best I can, and get some sort of bearing as to where it is, exactly, we are. If I've never said it before - I HATE this forest.
I've got to figure out what direction is North - and I can use my own senses for that - as soon as we rest a bit. I'm not risking magic when there might be mages or werewolves, or gods know what else out there. It's sort of eerie. Knowing that you're being followed without even seeing everyone. I have this sneaky suscpicion we didn't leave those wolves as far behind as I would have thought - or liked. I'm being wary.

Current Location: Somewhere on Arrikanez land
Current Time of Day: Early morning
Current Weather: Still ******** snowing
Current Condition: Dizzy and sick - damn werewolves. Nev'n's much the same - hasn't been able to keep any rations down.
