sadly i've forgotten how to drive my FD lol.

on the good side i've become accustomed to chasing down ppl with my MR2. as i have learned how to beat an evo off the start xd xd

Oh? Do share, please. I have an MR2 myself and this might come in handy.

lol .. it's kinda scary cuz you start at red at 1st .. but when you jump into the 2-3rd gears it starts to pick up speed slightly .. i was like eek oooh ic ..

If you could post shift points, then I'd be more than happy to give it a test myself.

5.5 - 6 - 6.2 - red line
1st - 2nd - 3rd. 4th

I managed to beat 2 of our best Evo4 drivers with this pattern even on Iro =) the 1st 2 gears will seems slightly slow .. but on the 3rd to 4th it should be kickin in a lil more.

I've actually been doing some messing around with the gears and making first gear as short as possible, like 4.8 or so.

heh~ if that's how you do it then your start up is wrong.
i'm assuming when you say 4.8 you wait till the game says go before you step on the gas.

for ppl like me and Kyros we step on the gas all the way even before the count down. it's a quick shift technique and it's how some of us get the times.

Otherwise known as a hot start.

The only car that benefits from a cold start is the RX-8. And if you fudge up the RX-8's cold start, its benefits go out the door and instead, you start off worse than you would with an RX-8's hot start.

Actually, I don't do a cold start, either. Instead of mashing the gas all the way down at the start, I hold the gas so that the revs are sitting right around the 5K mark, and then floor it right when the light goes green. I don't know if that could be considered a proper "hot start", but it seems to work pretty good.

In other news, I just dropped my Irohazaka time by almost another half-second [2'11"5xx]

you have got to be joking .. Irohazaka 2'11'5XX? ... that's impossible seeing as that 2'11'5XX isn't even reachable in any track of Ver3.
i hope you can verify your time cuz you'll lose alotta respect ^_^ lol

LoL
np man i was just trippin with you aswell.
lol. reason why you need to be specific about the times are because there have been alotta braggers who pretend they know wht athe game is about.

I remember this one incident in Ver2 where this 14 yr old said he has the fastest time out of everyone for Iro DH. so everyone asked him to post his time on IIRC and he said no lol. in the end we went to his local arcades and found out that he was just nothing more than a mouth. bragging right with no proof.

I understand what you mean about braggers who don't know what they're talking about. They're so annoying, I swear... stressed

Anyway, as for getting some updated times posted on the official site, I'll have to remember to bring my camera with me when I go to the arcade today. I don't know exactly how many new times I'll have to post, but I know I've got at least 3 that are better than my standing times.

Okay, I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get the R32 to work for me. I have to stick to RWD. So I ripped up the Skyline and began looking for a FR with adequate handling and go-stuff. Seeing as I LOVE my Miata, I just went ahead and got a 2nd Gen. NB8C Miata. Basically the same car with a 6-speed and a bit more go. The feeling was so familiar, I can almost already beat my old Shomaru time without any practice. sweatdrop
