Okay, I just sent the link to this guild to a half-dozen people, so I'd like to see this guild actually do something, live up to its name.
How come as soon as I bailed you guys stopped getting together?
I'd like to see this guild get leadership that actually gets things happening, local things happening. I just think it's a shame that this guild seems to be floundering so so much soggy flotsam.

Not that I'm meaning to be harshly critical or antagonistic, mind you. I just regret that this guild only seemed to really do much when it was under my captainship. I want to get things happening again, though more as an organizer and encourager than as a participant, since I'm usually flat broke and I often feel awkward around people. And I can be a moody b*****d.

I'd say this guild is far from inactive. While there might not be a meet-up every week or even every month, lately there tends to be some form of meet-up fairly regularly. And there are other plans that are trying to take shape, such as the apples-to-apples game, and my TRON movie meet-up.
There aren't a whole lot of active members in the guild, so you can't really expect miracles to happen here. Plus, it seems most of the guild is under 18, which can also make meet-ups that much more difficult, as they would have to get permission from their parents.
The guild can use more members and more meet-up ideas, there's no doubt about that. But there are things slowly rolling along, we just need to get the ball moving a bit faster.
Actually, I was going to post the idea for a meet-up at the Portland comic book show this weekend, as I was going to be there anyway handing out fliers and greeting people at the Rebel Legion booth... That is until I fell and hurt my ankle, so I haven't been able to walk very well, and that put the axe to me going to the comic book show. Thankfully other members of the Rebel Legion will be there, though, of course. My ankle has also made it difficult for me to attend, or even plan, any meet-ups in the immediate future.
MEW Con is coming up fairly soon and I think the Rebel Legion is going to have a booth there as well. Assuming my ankle is all healed up by then (which it should be), I'll probably volunteer some time there, so perhaps a meet-up could even be held there. After all, everyone wants to meet a Rebel starfigther pilot, right? wink

Sorry to hear about the injury. I recently had to have reconstructive surgery done on my right hand because I dislocated a bone in it.
As for the guild, I suppose if we're all to be content with an unmotivated molasses-rolling-uphill modality then I'll just be lazy and check in once a week or so. I just think we can actually do better and that guild leadership doesn't belong to people who are out-of-towners who hardly ever log on.

I agree that it would be nice for the guild to be a bit more active, though I do think most of the frequent visitors here are trying to get things going I (albeit the frequent visitors are few).
Having more members here and more ideas floating around would really help. Lately I've only seen about four or five active members, and that's really not enough to get a bunch of activities going.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone to recommend the guild to, so I wouldn't be too good in that promotional area. Perhaps the guild should do a little advertising on the guild form section of Gaia? Get the word out a bit.
And I don't know, I think the admin is trying her best, but she's only one person. And she did say why she couldn't log on frequently for a little while. I just think she just needs a bit of help-- which she did ask for a little while ago, but I don't think anyone stepped up to the plate... including myself, as at that time it was really hectic around the house and I didn't feel that I'd be able to devote a lot of my time to the guild, or as much as the position required. Though things have now calmed down a bit...

I do have to agree with Gorath Tsu on all of what he said. The Guild isn't inactive, it's just really slow going and I'm pretty sure most the members are pretty well lazy. But things are happening and we have had meet-ups since you left I have good reasons why I couldn't get on every single day, I have a life and 99% of the time it's filled with crap that you, nor anyone really knows about. So maybe if you came into my shoes, I think maybe you could understand why I can't just simply get on everyday and stay on top of everything all the time. THAT; and I never asked to be the guild leader. [[ See here e log of when this occured]] So if you want to complain about me being the leader maybe you should have thought before you made me the captain of the guild, hmm? And rather than complaining about it, why don't you help me? I did ask for some help before knowing that there may be times I'd be gone for a while and Nicole was the only person who even said anything. At least I'm trying my best and at least we're still moving. It's always better than nothing
