You aren't. Sweetie...no offense to your mom, but she has no room to talk. She has done whatever was necessary to take care of you and your brother. You are doing the same for you and your son. Work with your strengths, not your weaknesses. English is your greatest strength...besides controlling Donald (lol). Don't listen to your mom. Follow your heart.
