Dragons reproduce by a joining of spirits, so gender doesn't really matter - yes, that means that two male or two female dragons can have children together! However, dragons reproduce only very rarely, so breeding spots will only be available ever so often. Also, a dragon can breed only four times in his life... if they gave any more of their own spirit away, they would diminish their own life energy.
All adult dragons can breed, even dragons that are childlike in appearance (either because they're winged or because they have taken "Eternal Childhood" potion)! Since those dragons are adults mentally, and dragons breed by a joining of spirits, not a physical union, I don't see anything wrong with this.
Dragons of different breeds can have children together without problems.
A breeding will produce two (in rare cases three) children who will start at the child stage (instead of the bag or plushie stage). There's three possibilities on the children's looks:
1. The child looks almost exactly like one of the parents - same colors, similar or same fur/scale pattern - and has the same breed as that parent.
2. The child has inherited traits from both parents. They might have the colors of one and the fur/scale pattern of the other, for example. If the parents are of different breeds, the child might be a half-breed. This is the most common occurance.
3. Random mutation - the child looks completely different in coloring and pattern! It might even be a completely new breed - meaning that it'll have unique lineart! This is very rare, though.
Breeding Spots available:
1. OPEN
2. OPEN
3. OPEN
Breeding costs 6k. Looking for a breeding partner? Try
here!
If a spot is available and you either own two adult dragons you want to breed or know somebody whose adult dragon you want to breed with yours (ask their permission first, please!), just post here with the following information:
Name of first owner:
Name of second owner:
Name of first dragon:
Name of second dragon:
Name of first child if male:
Name of first child if female:
Name of second child if male:
Name of second child if female:
If the owner of one parent pays the breeding fee in full, both children will go to them (but they can chose to give one to the other owner). If the owner of the parents split the fee between them, each will get one child.
What you can do with your children:
- you can keep them
- you can give them away to a friend
- you can tell me to auction them off
If you keep them or give them away, please tell me, so that I know which name to write on the cert.
If you tell me to auction them off, I will start a seperate auction for each child. You will get the breeding fee for that child back (since 6k is the breeding fee for
two children, the breeding fee for
one child is 3k), and I will give you 50% of all winnings over 6k.
Example 1: The child is auctioned off for 3.5k. You get the breeding fee of 3k back.
Example 2: The child is auctioned off for 8k. That's 2k more than the 6k limit. You get the breeding fee of 3k back, and 1k extra, so all in all, you get 4k from me.
