The story in a nutshell

Enchanted Dragons are dragons that are somehow magically trapped inside ordinary looking plushies. Malaisra stumbled across two such plushies by accident, unwittingly freed them and has since made it her life goal to find and free (by finding owners for them that they can form a soulbond with) as many dragons as she can.

To that goal, she has opened a store where she sells these magical dragon plushies.

Familiars

Familiars
</center>
Familiars are magical animals that look like their ordinary counterparts, but who live eternally, like dragons, and who can communicate telepathically with them.

Familiars can be bought as a friend for a dragon, but if you wish, you also can buy a familiar as a regular pet. They only have two stages, though, plushie and adult.

Thread Rules

* Be polite, don't harass other people, follow the general Gaia TOS.
* Bumping is generally welcome!
* Please don't PM me; post your questions and bids here in the thread.
* No begging or whining, please! If you didn't get a dragon in the latest sale, just wait for the next one! Be patient, the next auction or flatsale can't be far off!
* No chatspeak or cussing, please! You wouldn't want our baby dragons to pick up bad habits, would you? wink

Ownership Rules

* Roleplaying is NOT required, but encouraged! We have a guild where you can comfortably roleplay and hang out with other dragon owners.
* Up to two people may co-own a dragon. (This limitation doesn't apply if you want to share your dragon with one or several roleplayed pets.)
* If you ever get tired of your dragon, don't just throw the poor thing away! You can either:
--> donate it back to me, and I'll hold a raffle to give it away to somebody else for free
--> get a refund of 750g if your dragon was a flatsale dragon, and I'll sell the dragon to a new owner with the next flatsale
--> let me auction the dragon off for you if your dragon was an auction dragon, and you'll get 50% of the income
* Please don't alter the dragon, use my lineart for something else or otherwise steal my art.
* You may own as many dragons as you like, but you can buy only one per flatsale/auction.
* You have to direct-link to the picture I give you in the pick-up post for your dragon to grow.

Flatsale Rules

* Flatsale prices may vary from flatsale to flatsale, but they will generally be from 1-3k.
* Flatsales are usually first come, first serve. I will post the words "Flatsale GO!" in big green letters to start off the sale, and the first person to post that they want a dragon after that will get it.
* To claim a dragon, make sure that you post the number of the dragon you want. You can also post the number of a dragon you want in case your first choice was already claimed by somebody else.
* Do not send the trade until I've posted the results of the flatsale.
* Don't back out of your bids, and please don't bid more than you can afford!
* I only accept pure gold as payment for flatsales.
* You can only buy one dragon per flatsale.
* Offers before a flatsale officially begins are null and void.

Auction Rules

* No sniping. You must make your first bid at least half an hour before the auction ends, or else, your bid will not count.
* I will post the words "Auction GO!" in big green letters to start off the auction.
* Don't back out of your bids, and please don't bid more than you can afford!
* I accept pure gold or letters/donation items at mid-GEN price.
* You can only buy one dragon per auction.
* Bids before an auction begins are null and void.

FREE Raffle Rules

* FREE raffles will be held to give out FREE dragons, usually dragons that were donated back to the store by somebody.
* You can only have one ticket per FREE raffle; please don't use mule accounts to get more tickets.
* To take part in the raffle, wait until I've made a post saying "FREE Raffle GO!!!", then post that you'd like to participate. I will then give you a ticket.
* FREE raffles usually close after one week.

NORMAL Raffle Rules

* A ticket for a NORMAL raffle costs 50g.
* You can buy as many tickets as you want.
* I will post the words "Raffle GO!" in big green letters to start off the raffle.
* After the raffle has started, you can post here to say how many tickets you want. You can buy more tickets anytime, as long as the raffle is still open.
* The information when the raffle begins and ends can usually be found in the "Sales" section.

General FAQ

How do I get a dragon of my own?

Wait for a flatsale or auction. Flatsales will be held once a month or every two months if I'm busy (though I might also hire guest colorists to fill in for me in that case), and they are first come, first serve. You just post which dragon you want, after the flatsale is opened. Auctions will be held about once a month. While the auction runs, you can post your bids, and the dragon will go to the highest bidder. Auction dragons will sometimes have something special, like a piece of jewelry, or mabye differently shaped ears, once they grow up.

Can I please please have a dragon for free?

Sometimes. If anybody tires of their dragon and donates it back to me, I will give it away for free in a raffle. Check the News section to see if any raffles are going on at the moment.

Do I need to save to my own server, or will you host it?

I will host the picture, and it's important that you direct-link, because else your dragon will not grow!

How many dragons can I have?

As many as you want, but only one per sale or auction.

Will you do a pet trade?

Yes, if I like the pet! Just PM me and we can talk about it.

Do I have to roleplay?

No. Roleplay is in no way enforced, but if you do want to roleplay, we have a nice guild where you can do so.

Sales & Auctions

When is the next flatsale?

Look in the News section. When I decide there will be one, I will post it there.

Will you reserve?

Sorry, no. It wouldn't be fair to the people who have been waiting.

Breeding

Can I breed my dragon?

If a breeding slot is open, yes, you can! Keep an eye on the "Breeding" section!

How many children can a couple produce?

A couple will be able to produce two (in rare cases three) children who will start out in the child stage (skipping the bag and plushie stage).

I. Regular Customs

You get to pick:
- up to three colours for your dragon
- one pattern, symbol or theme
- up to three accessories (bracelets, hats, pendants etc.)

You can choose any of the available breeds, and you can specify if you want your dragon to grow up as an Eternal Child or a regular adult.

This dragon will go through all stages normal for his breed, but the dragon will only start wearing the accessories when it reaches the adult stage.

II. Cosplay Customs

You pick a character (anime, manga, movie, original character, etc.), and I do the colouring and draw clothing, hair and accessories accordingly. You cannot pick a character that I've already done a cosplay dragon for!

You can choose any of the available breeds and any non-plushie stage, or you can let me choose the breed and stage that I feel fits the character best. Your choice! wink

Since cosplay dragons usually require quite a lot of lineart edits to add said clothing, hair and accessories, cosplay dragons will not change or grow - they will stay in the stage that you picked.

Dragons reproduce by a joining of spirits, so gender doesn't really matter - yes, that means that two male or two female dragons can have children together! However, dragons reproduce only very rarely, so breeding spots will only be available ever so often. Also, a dragon can breed only four times in his life... if they gave any more of their own spirit away, they would diminish their own life energy.

All adult dragons can breed, even dragons that are childlike in appearance (either because they're winged or because they have taken "Eternal Childhood" potion)! Since those dragons are adults mentally, and dragons breed by a joining of spirits, not a physical union, I don't see anything wrong with this.

Dragons of different breeds can have children together without problems.

A breeding will produce two (in rare cases three) children who will start at the child stage (instead of the bag or plushie stage). There's three possibilities on the children's looks:

1. The child looks almost exactly like one of the parents - same colors, similar or same fur/scale pattern - and has the same breed as that parent.
2. The child has inherited traits from both parents. They might have the colors of one and the fur/scale pattern of the other, for example. If the parents are of different breeds, the child might be a half-breed. This is the most common occurance.
3. Random mutation - the child looks completely different in coloring and pattern! It might even be a completely new breed - meaning that it'll have unique lineart! This is very rare, though.

Breeding Spots available:

1. OPEN
2. OPEN
3. OPEN

Breeding costs 6k. Looking for a breeding partner? Try here!

If a spot is available and you either own two adult dragons you want to breed or know somebody whose adult dragon you want to breed with yours (ask their permission first, please!), just post here with the following information:

Name of first owner:
Name of second owner:
Name of first dragon:
Name of second dragon:
Name of first child if male:
Name of first child if female:
Name of second child if male:
Name of second child if female:

If the owner of one parent pays the breeding fee in full, both children will go to them (but they can chose to give one to the other owner). If the owner of the parents split the fee between them, each will get one child.

What you can do with your children:

- you can keep them
- you can give them away to a friend
- you can tell me to auction them off

If you keep them or give them away, please tell me, so that I know which name to write on the cert.

If you tell me to auction them off, I will start a seperate auction for each child. You will get the breeding fee for that child back (since 6k is the breeding fee for two children, the breeding fee for one child is 3k), and I will give you 50% of all winnings over 6k.

Example 1: The child is auctioned off for 3.5k. You get the breeding fee of 3k back.

Example 2: The child is auctioned off for 8k. That's 2k more than the 6k limit. You get the breeding fee of 3k back, and 1k extra, so all in all, you get 4k from me.

Potions

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

"Eternal Childhood"

When given to a dragon, this potion will turn it into what we call an Eternal Child - a dragon that reaches full mental and emotional maturity, but remains childlike in appearance forever. Even a dragon that is already an adult can take the potion; it will change their body back into that of a child.

(Please note that dragons of breed 1 have special lineart for the Eternal Child stage, while dragons of breed 2 just go back to the child lineart.)

Please, consider what your dragon wants before you give this potion to them! If you think they might suffer later on due to their physical immaturity, please don't do it! However, most dragons aren't overly focused on physical appearances, and many even welcome the opportunity for some mischief that this appearance offers.

Winged dragons are natural Eternal Children, so giving the potion to them would be pointless and maybe even dangerous!

"Eternal Youth"

This potion can only be given to dragons of breed 2! If given to a dragon that is not yet an adult, the dragon will grow until they are a teenager, and they will then completely stop growing. However, their mental and emotional capacity will go on maturing, so after a while, they will effectively be an adult in a teenager's body. If a dragon that is already an adult takes the potion, their body will change back into that of a teenager.

Please, consider what your dragon wants before you give this potion to them! If you think they might suffer later on due to their physical immaturity, please don't do it! However, most dragons aren't overly focused on physical appearances, and many even welcome the opportunity for some mischief that this appearance offers.

Magic Jewels

I have contacted many owners of toy stores in the last couple of weeks, trying to find more enchanted dragons, and a while ago, one of them sent me a tiny package that contained 40 tiny little jewels and a sheet with descriptions. In the accompanying letter it said that he found the package when he was cleaning out his store room, and that he vaguely remembered that years ago, they came with a delivery of enchanted dragons that he has long since sold.

Here is what the descriptions say about each kind of jewel.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

"Levitation"

When given to a young dragon, such as a newly evolved hatchling or wyrmling (dragon on the verge of becoming an adult), the dragon will develop only weak powers of levitation at first. They will be able to move or hover small, light objects through the force of their will for a few seconds, and that will already exhaust them. However, as the dragon grows, so will the ability until they can levitate objects as heavy as themselves for up to a minute, and heavier objects for a shorter time period.

Keep in mind how difficult babysitting a dragon without abilities can be before you give this to your baby dragon!

When given to a fully grown dragon, the dragon will come into the full abilty at once.

"Fire Breath"

This ability is propably the one most commonly associated with dragons, though it is not an ability that every dragon automatically possesses.

A young dragon will at first only produce meager results, comparable with the power of an ordinary pocket lighter, but it is still not recommended to give the jewel to a dragon too young to comprehend that they can do serious harm by playing around with fire.

A grown dragon will be able to produce strong bursts of fire, but thankfully, most dragons are good-natured enough to not abuse this ability.

In store: 10
Price: 150g
Order number: #J2

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

"Freezing Touch"

Gives the ability to make objects freeze at a simple touch. Again, a young dragon will not develop this ability at once - a baby dragon will at first only succeed in lowering the temperature a few degrees. In summer, it can be very handy to have a baby dragon with this ability around!

An adult dragon can turn a tub full of water into ice in a mere second. Practical uses aside, this can be a powerful and deadly weapon, should the dragon be inclined to use it as such.

In store: 9
Price: 150g
Order number: #J3

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

"Empathy"

All dragons are telepaths to a degree. They can usually talk mind-to-mind with their owners and with other dragons, but that is normally the extent of their psychic abilities. This jewel gives them the power of empathy - the ability to feel what other living things are feeling, and even to influence those feelings. That extends to humans, dragons, animals and even plantlife!

Oddly enough, this is an ability that even baby dragons can grasp at once, and in fact, young dragons seem to be better at it than older dragons!

This is usually not harmful in any way, but be prepared for sudden inexplicable bursts of sadness or joy while your dragon is getting used to their new ability.

In store: 7
Price: 150g
Order number: #J4

You should know that once you give a jewel to a dragon, you can't undo it, and a dragon is only capable of learning seven different magic abilities, so be careful about the jewels you buy!

I've decided to take down the list of pets I would trade for... I constantly see pets that I like, and everyday, new shops with great pets open. So if you'd like to do a pet trade, just PM me, and if I have time and like your pet, we can work something out! I prefer pets that don't require roleplay, as I don't always have time to.

Current trades:

* With Silverfox_angel: One winged dragon for one Fallen Rain kittie!
The Opening Flatsale is going to start in a couple of minutes! I will post "Flatsale GO!!!" when it starts.

Please check the "Sales" post for pictures of the dragons; each dragon is 1k.
