Welcome to Gaia! ::

Gaia is a beautiful place. There's no denying that. From the tiny, delicate Guppies of Bass'ken Lake, to the regal Gembacks of the Durem Reclamation Facility; from the snobbish yet intriguing Von Helson sisters (wherever they may be) to the perky and blissful Sasha from Gambino; from the feathery, fiery Phoenix Circlet to the coveted golden Halo, Gaia is nothing if not beautiful. And I CAN'T STAND IT. DAMN!
This place isn't human, I swear it. It just in't right, it just in't right, this place must be made of plastic or something. Everything is perfect. Even the animals here are beauty queens. Look at all the winged cats running around! I don't belong here.
Excuse me, that rant wasn't directed at you, even if your hair is that perfect shade of purple and your Kiki Kitty is in mint condition. I just feel alienated, that's all. Being a Wiffett, I fear I've grown accustomed to imperfection.
Oh, wait. I should explain what a Wiffett is. After all, that's the reason I'm here. See, the Wiffetts, my people, are the spirit peoples of the swamps. Do you know what a swamp is? Gaia doesn't have swamps, does it? Well, a swamp is a muddy, smelly place. You pretty Gaians don't belong there. Anyway, the Wiffetts live in little communities inside swamps. They're kind of like toads, so they fit in well there. They're also quite magical.
The Wiffetts found me when I was a little baby. They raised me as one of their own. Oh, did I introduce myself yet? I don't think I did. Hi, my name is... ... ...y'know what? Just call me 'the Wiffett girl.' My real name probably isn't pretty enough for Gaia. It doesn't even sound remotely Japanese, nor does it contain any brackets and numbers. You Gaians wouldn't like it. So I'm just the Wiffett girl.
I bet you're wondering why I'm talking to you in the first place, huh? Well, let's just say I need a favor. In my homeland, which is far, FAR away from Gaia the Perfect, humans are starting to pave over the Wiffett Swamps. The Wiffetts normally don't get involved in human affairs, so we didn't put up a fight, we just up and left. But then we realized that we don't have anywhere to live. That was some wonderful planning, huh? Whatever. That in't important now. I need you, and all your Gaian friends, to help give my people new homes. Don't worry, they'll be perfectly happy living with humans once they get to know you.
First, though, you gotta lure them out, and convince them you're worth getting to know. Most Wiffetts adore shiny things, like gold coins. Flash around enough of them, and a couple of Wiffetts might decide to make themselves visible to you. From there, you just gotta make friends.

So, can you do me this favor?
All About Wiffetts
The Wiffetts (pronounced whiff-fet) are intelligent, toadlike little people. They have their own civilization, but are perfectly willing to adapt to yours. They have magical powers, which vary in strength from one Wiffett to another. Even the youngest Whiffett knows how to make itself visible or invisible to humans and most mundane animals. They have the capacity to learn human speech, even though their own language sounds more like rehearsed burping than words. They eat mainly fruits and insects, and usually insist on feeding themselves. You'll often find your Wiffett companions skittering around hunting bugs. They're really handy that way. But most importantly, Wiffetts are ugly. I know that might be a strange concept for Gaians, but it's true. They're the opposite of pretty. Seriously, they're monkey-toads, they couldn't possibly be pretty. They have bug-eyes and frog's legs and cold skin (they're cold blooded, by the way). But they are not ashamed of their looks, although they acknowledge them. They accept the way they are, and that is that. When, by chance, a human sees a Wiffett, and exclaims, 'How disgusting!' the Wiffett will just smile, and shrug, and respond, 'Yeah, probably,' and go along its merry way.

Wiffetts go through three stages of growth.

Wiffett babies are born with their eyes closed. They hear just fine, however, and can get around on hearing alone, providing they're not in a dangerous place. Just don't leave knives lying around on the floor, and they'll be fine. They learn quickly, and you can teach them different languages with ease at this stage in their development. They grow quickly as well.

Wiffett children are more or less like human children, but uglier and with magic. They'll play, and chatter, and all that good stuff. Wiffett 'childhood' lasts from around the ages of one to three weeks.

Wiffett adults are easily the intellectual equal of a human, and you'd better not forget that. They don't like being treated like baby kittens or anything. They will act like equals, which is just fine, because they're also very good friends and conversationalists.

Wiffetts, being accustomed to the darkness of overgrown swamps, give off glowy lighting to help themselves get around. They usually glow in either pink or blue, to help people figure out their genders (the neck frill on the males should be a dead giveaway, but you can't always tell from a distance). Sometimes they'll change to other colors, but that's entirely up to them.
They also have something we call 'magic words.' When you want to call your Wiffett friend to your side, all you have to do is say the magic word. This is different for every Wiffett, and they choose what they'll answer to depending on their personality and looks.
Down to business!

Okay, this is where I cut the colored-font RP crap. Wiffetts are a no-obligations pet. It's not necessary to RP or anything, I just request that you save to your own server. That's pretty much it.
The Wiffetts are a highly experimental pet. Everything about Wiffetts is done by hand, with a pen and stylus (with the exception of simple things like layering and flipping things horizontally). Look at those certs! There's not a straight line on them. I don't use fancy tools beyond the paintbrush/pen and eraser. There are no special patterns, and no 3-D graphics, and no fancy glitter to distract you. They are natural, and they are imperfect, and they are fine the way they are. I even do the lettering on the certs by hand. Some are a tad illegible; if you can't read yours just tell me and I'll redo it for free.
Wiffetts are sold on a waiting list basis. If I feel like coloring some Wiffetts, I'll open slots on my waiting list. Then you just gotta order and send a trade. No flatsales, no auctions, no raffles, none of that crap. Not here. I don't have enough of an attention span for that.
Wiffetts are all semi-customs. When you order a Wiffett, you select its gender and magic word. The magic word is what I punch into the Google image search to decide on colors for your Wiffett. I'll look around at the pictures that show up until I find one that I like, then I'll pattern the Wiffett's colors after it. For example, my Mizzle is ravioli-themed, with pasta-colored eyes, parmesan cheese-speckled feet, and herbs around her ears. Warry is sandwich-colored. See, the brown is the bread crust, the green is the lettuce, and the pinks are ham and tomatoes. They're in lines, like how a sandwich looks from the side. Magic words cannot be brands or otherwise copyrighted words (you can't have a Coca Cola Wiffett or an Inuyasha Wiffett, although you can have a soda Wiffett or a demon Wiffett), and all words must be PG. Remember, I'm punching these words into an internet search engine. Don't try anything gross.

Shop rules:
-No art theft. I can't imagine why anybody would want to try and steal the Wiffetts, of all things, but it's bad regardless.
-No begging. I'm not giving discounts or freebies all chaotic-like. If I give a friend a discount, that's one thing, but I'm not going to give a free Wiffett to you if you beg in half-assed n00bsp33k.
-Stick to the magic word guidelines mentioned above. Seriously.
-Be literate. Because I won't respond to bad grammar, mainly because I don't want to read it.
-Don't place orders when the waiting list is full.
-Use the order form. I won't fill an order if information is missing.
-Always send a trade IMMEDIATELY after placing an order.

Breeding:
Wiffetts breed like any other animal does, by shooting DNA at each other. xd Wiffetts have live young, and usually have two to a litter, maybe three. Genes are passed down to offspring in two possible ways. Either the child Wiffett inherits characteristics of its parents' colors, or take on a combination of the parents words. So let's say you had...a blue Wiffett with the word 'Ocean,' and a red Wiffett with the word 'Cardinal.' Their offspring could come out with a combination of red and blue, like a regular pet does, and its word would be something that the red and blue reminds me of, perhaps 'Primary' or one of those swirly lollypops. Or, I could take the themes of the parents' words and do a search to find something to pattern colors after. In this example, I'd probably choose sea birds, like 'Seagull' or 'Pelican.' The nature of the offspring's inheritance is not random. It depends on what I feel like doing, and nothing more.

All breeding slots cost 3000g. PM the order form and send all trades to The Wiffett Girl.

"Well, that's one child given to a good home," Braapluh sighs.
Her sister Mizzle nods. "We have to start somewhere, right? Hopefully more humans will come."
"Hopefully..."

Yes, Wiffett Girl's name is Braapluh. What an ugly sounding name, huh? In the Wiffett language it means 'something from elsewhere.'

Don't mind me...
