Crossed over from Gaia TG: http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2006/sep/18/medicineandhealth.china^ The first successful transplant of a p***s was performed by the Chinese on a man that had lost his in a horrible accident. The transplanted p***s came donated from the parents of a man who died. The man eventually removed the transplanted p***s for psychological reasons, likely because he was disturbed by the fact that the organ once belonged to someone that had died. But the importance is, the operation was a complete and functioning success. What does this mean? If science took the time to look our way, transsexuals might be able to reap the benefits of this new transplantation ability. FtMs are left with poor options when it comes to bottom surgery. Why not do transplants? Anyways, do you think it's possible? Would this be an effective process? Guys, would you want a donated p***s?

Oh yeah, I've heard about this before. That story's been around for a while.
Interesting and all that, and it's nice to know that the science is there. However, it's probably easier to connect the apparatus to a biomale than it is to someone born female - the piping isn't right and all that. Not to mention that there's probably only a limited amount of cocks to go around, and I somehow think we'd have problems getting our hands on them.
Still, it's hope for the future. I'd rather have a p***s grown from stem cells than a transplant, but if it were possible and not ludicrously expensive and difficult to procure, I might consider it.

I also am holding a lot of hope for stem cells.
I'm sure though that if medical science actually worked hard enough to figure out how to transplant one onto a transguy, they'd figure it out. But I'm fairly sure medical science is ignoring us a lot...

Indeed, it seems us FtMs aren't important enough to the medical community, since our condition is not deadly or anything considered important. If someone would like to look our way, bless them dear soul.
About the transplant, as Tim said, transplanting on a male is probably easier than on a female. I assume a lot of tweaking must be done and it could be dangerous. Stem cells sound like the best idea so far, but who knows, after all?

[That's very interesting though. Yeah, I agree with the fact that it would be easier to transplant onto a bio male. I think I'd rather have a p***s grown from stem cells to. The fact that my transplanted p***s belonged to some other dead/alive guy would creep me out. If that were the only option though, I'd probably still consider it.]

ウホッ!いい男… Yeah it'd prolly be easier to attach to a biomale, but it would be possible if scientists would pay attention to us to attach it to a female I think, with some tweaking. Anyway, if that was accomplished and available (and affordable) though, to work just like the real thing, I wouldn't give a damn who'd used it before...I'd do it. My concern is a realistic-looking, working, non-detachable p***s and I'm not gonna bite the hand that sews me up. やらないか?

To be honest I don't really know. I think if scientists could figure out how Ftms could grow a p***s, naturally, from stem cells, then that would be amazing.
I agree with man_in_time, I would want a p***s thats non-detachable, something I could have vaginal and a**l sex with, I could get erections, ejaculate, and pee through. Though like also mentioned before, science when it comes to surgery/other options for ftms, is going very slowly. I think maybe part of that reason might be because we don't speak up about what we truly want.
The idea of having a dead guys p***s though is a little creepy.
I just want to be my normal self, in my normal body.

And see, dead man p***s doesn't creep me out at all.
For us, I'm not sure such a surgery will be available in the near future. Unless I'm wrong, if you saw your arm off, you can't have it be reattached from another person and have the arm work. Same basic principle, no?
If there was a surgery like that, YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. Unless it didn't work quite as well, or was super expensive. I want a p***s, but dammit I wouldn't spend $20,000 for one rofl . I'm so cheap.
I'm not holding that much hope for stem cell research. Due to its controversial nature and whatnot, and the fact that nobody cares about us, it'd be a pretty long time before we get a shot.
But if it was possible, and wasn't tooooo expensive, I'd consider it. Totally. Yes. Better than dead man p***s, totally.

Carnivorous Conway I'm not holding that much hope for stem cell research. Due to its controversial nature and whatnot, and the fact that nobody cares about us, it'd be a pretty long time before we get a shot. Not all stem cell research involves embryos. Stem cells can be taken from adults - the hypothetical ideal is that the penile tissue could be grown from one's own cells, so you wouldn't have to take immunosuppressant drugs to stop your body rejecting the transplant. (Which is another reason I wouldn't want a graft from somebody else.) Now, they're unlikely to do much research pertaining to transpeople specifically, but research is being done on growing organs in vitro, in producing complex structures from adult cells, and other things which'll all contribute. Cisgendered men injured in accidents will want the technology to be there so they can grow themselves new cocks, and that same technology would benefit us. Somebody out there will be interested in the plight of transmen - after all, if nobody at all was interested in treatment for us, we wouldn't even have phalloplasty surgery. It won't be soon, but I think it'll be available by the time I'm middle-aged. For a hefty price, mind, but that's not surprising.

It's hopefull, but still very incompatiable as far as plumbing goes and all the finer details such as connecting the blood vessles.
From one guy to another it's alot more practical because everything is already set up in the correct fashion. I don't know about the technical outlook but it is possible for certain, but I think it would take ALOT of focus on FtM for it to become a actual procedure. Because it's not like it is with MtF who just get everything rebuilt and shapened.
