{visitor's center}

{visitor's center image}

Hogwarts castle looms overhead as you step into the cool shade of the entrance hall. Straight ahead and to the left, up some stairs, is the Great Hall; but directly to the right, a pointed sign points the way for 'Visitors.'

You're shuffled along a slightly narrow hallway, lit dimly with torches, until you come to a large, arched door that lies open. Inside, a witch sits behind a desk; she has long blond hair, and blue-green eyes. She's a bit on the plump side.

She glances up as you enter, blinks, and gives a swift flick of her wand. "Evening," She chirps happily. "Come to check out the castle, then? All possible students or parents of students, or even possible mentors, can sign up here to lurk about the castle and see classrooms and dormatories and the grounds....Term hasn't started yet, so I'm afraid you'll not see any students running about yet." She smiles, amused. "But you might catch some of the teachers wandering the hall; feel free to ask questions of them. Just sign there, please," She adds, pointing to a parchment and quill.

"Oh, and, dearie, the Forbidden Forest is off-limits...as is the third floor corridor on the right-hand side. I'm sure you understand now, though?"

(OOC) * The Visitor's Center was based on an idea by Nefidean. smile People without a student or creature may RP in here...you're allowed to travel about the castle in the non-restricted areas.(OOC)

Millie walks in the dark yet beautiful castle and sees a lady behind a desk. She steps up to the lady at the desk. "Hello! I am Millie. I would like to be a visitor here at Hogwarts."

Lauryn looked around, the dark and ominous presence of the castle filling the air as she entered, chilling her to the bones and yet rousing a feeling of excitement. The dark and dreary castle was alight with wonders for the eyes, wherever you looked and it took some shuffling of another person to get her steared in the right direction. Once she spotted the doors, Lauryn concentrated on getting inside and seeing what wonders that room held. At first, she was a little disapointed at finding a plump woman with blonde hair behind a desk, scribbling on parchment, but as soon as the woman started talking it all became clear. Yes, she definatly needed to talk to this person!

Lauryn nodded at all the appropriate places and smiled at the woman behind the desk, her wand in one hand and a quill in the other. "I see." she says after listening to everything the woman had to say. "I would like to be signed up as a visitor here at Hogwarts." Lauryn's smile beamed across her face in anticipation.

The witch waves Milli forwards. "Sign your name dear, just there. It's so we can keep tabs on who comes through here, and who's all in the castle. Don't want you getting lost or eaten now, do we?"

She turns her bemused smile on Lauryn as she enters, and eyes her critically. "Sounds find, just sign the parchment, please. You two looking to become students, or looking to mentor them?" She querries, after a brief pause.

Lauryn's smile falters a bit at the woman's critical gaze, but it soon recovers from the sheer excitement oozing from inside. She bent down and signed the parchment, then handed the quill back to the woman. "I'm looking to mentor a student. I'm definatly too old to be one myself!" Lauryn chuckled softly to herself.

"Visitors," the sign read. A young woman glanced at the sign and followed the arrow down the dim hall barely lit by torches set on the wall. A great arch lay ahead, and she stepped through it to a room with a few others already inside. Seeing other people made her more comfortable, and she stepped up to the desk. "Do I sign in here?" The woman put on a warm smile.

Millie takes the quill and signs in. "Thank you. I am looking to become a student." She says with excitement. "All my siblings have gone here for generations. Now I figured its my turn."

Leth made her way through the almost deserted castle, at least, it seemed deserted to her own eyes. Thoughts filtered across her mind in a slow haze, as her hungry gaze took it all in.

Octills seemed to scan every inch possible of every space available to look at, this was her first time here. She was very excited and fortunate to have taken a trip to the castle. She'd heard about it, even read about it. She never thought she'd make time to visit it though.

But sure enough, there she was. She slipped into the visitor's sign-up room, hearing just the last bit of the blonde haired women's little speech, licked her lips and glanced to the other two visitors. Seeing them take turns signing there names up, a grin split her face.

She took the few steps toward the desk and awaited her turn for use of the quill, while scrolling her name she gave a gracious smile to the lady. "Ello, I'm Lethrossen, Leth for short." hearing the question asked of the other two, she thought to answere as well. "Im looking to mentor a student too1" She says, matter-of-factly.

The witch lightly taps a piece of parchment that she must've been writing on...a faint light blue glow encases it, before it folds up and inserts itself into an envelope handily sitting right next to it.

"That's nice, then," The older witch murmurs to Lauryn as the parchment settles down again. "Some of the younger students could use a good mentor...the things they get up to..." She shakes her head, but there's a wry smile that lingers on her lips. "Ah, it's not their fault, though. They're young yet." She glances over towards Millie, smiling. "Well, I hope you like what you see. We've got a good turnover of students who graduate and are placed in jobs...very high. It's one of the best schools in the world, most definately."

She breaks off to suddenly give out a whistle. The window suddenly opens, making the room rather chilly. A ruffled-looking little screech owl flaps into the room, looking windswept and grumpy. "Here you go," The witch says, offering the letter out to the owl. "Off to McGonagall now with you, Fief."

As the owl takes off again in a flurry of feathers, someone else enters the room. The witch nods to the incoming young woman with a cheerful smile. "Yes, right there. Then you can roam as much as you want...just stay out of the Forest and the third floor corridor on the right side."

"Another one!" She chortles, as Lethrossen enters. "Sign right there, dearie. "It does a world of good to see such young 'uns such as yourselves wanting to look after students," She says, beaming at them graciously. "And remember, don't be afraid to talk to the teachers, should you meet any of them...or any of the staff members. It's good to get to know about the place by asking questions."

The woman took a quill off the desk and scribed 'Sable Rose' as best she could on the scroll. She had overheard the conversation between the woman at the desk and the other who had signed before her. Sable returned the quill and decided to pipe in.

"You're in need of mentors?" Sable looked towards the green-eyed blonde curiously.

"Maybe. I don't know how many we have...McGonagall and Mme. Proudfoot take care of them and the foreign exchange students," She explains. "You'd have to talk to them."

"I see. Well it perhaps it's something I'd like to do. Right now I'm just interested in touring the castle. It's absolutely beautiful architecture." Her eyes wandered up the wall, following the enhancing decor. She smiles towards the other people in the room.

Kasai walked into the building. She noticed the staircase, but headed for the Visitor sign in. She looked around at every one chatting around. "Excuse me," she said quietly, "Is this where I sign in at?" She pointed to the parchment and quill.
