Spur of the moment called for this. I know I haven't been active here much at all [Reasons have been withheld... nahh, nevermind, I'll tell you. HIGHLIGHT BELOW!!]

I came to the conclusion that I was not in fact a transman I actually found out I was a rather flamboyant lesbian with no sense of fashion. Anyway.

I thought I should share this with you guys.

You know Thailand? Like. Cool awesome place we all wanna go because there's acceptance of the 3rd gender and trans-...people. So. I was just talking to my tomboy girlfriend from Thailand and I was like "YEAH I WANT THAT BINDER LOLZ" and she was like "...I used to have one too but I didn't like to wear one because of cancer."

Whoa. Wait. What?

Apparently Binders give you cancer? That could just be a rumor, but I thought I'd put it out there for consideration.

Yep.

Also anyone wanna ask my tomboy GF a question? [I've asked her so many questions about trans and I think she wants to murder me by now.]

[Muse is really upset at me for posting that.]

Nahh, there's no evidence... Apparently that is a belief that some people(?) hold in Thailand.

[She's angry that I used general views applying for all people as opposed to specifically saying that some not all believe it. So I correct myself here.]

That's why she stopped wearing hers... I think it's a rumor, but she seemed pretty wary on the idea.

I tried searching around and couldn't find any studies/information to support the idea.

I mean, I guess I get the fear - you're squishing your breasts down to the point where the breast tissue itself is breaking down - but there's no evidence that it is directly correlated to cancer rates in FtM people.
