Total number of speakers: 6 million

Language Family: Uralic

Regulated by: Language Planning Department of the Research Institute for the Languages of Finland

Well..I'm Finnish Too

I want to learn to speak Finnish...however, I suppose I ought to learn a more widely-spoken language.

I read somewhere that Finnish stemmed from a Turkic language-is this true or do I need more reliable sources?
