Guardian's Name: Sukiwen only ^^ Guardian Background/Personality: What're you like? Where do you come from? Where do you live? <3
Whoo hoo hoo, look who's so nosy, eh? We've only just met. But, this is an application. I suppose ettiquite can take a holiday.
I'm Sukiwen, aka Suki, no middle name, no last name. They're over-rated anyway. I consider myself to lead a generally happy, if poor, existance. I live in an underground home, a "bungalow", if you will, with my newly-discovered dependent, Ayoka. She just happens to be Grief incarnate, so that makes for a bit of a chore sometimes, but all in all I'm content. I don't...EXACTLY have a "job". I do commissions...sometimes, and I help run a shop that provides homes for the dozens of little emotion-things that have found their way into my rafters. I suppose I'm losing you, but it's just too long a story to put on an application.
I come from a middle-class family, and grew up in a pretty little yellow house on the corner. On the corner of what streets I cannot say, because I really cannot remember. I remember very little. I even have to write down my current street name in my ever-empty wallet for reminders, sometimes. Wow, maybe I shouldn't write that on an application to take in a child...just, pretend you didn't see it. Good, that's covered.
Some people say I'm quirky, others intelligent, and still others will tell you that I'm rather attractive. I am a bit on the boy-crazy side, but I haven't had many significant others that I really loved. More often than not it was for the sex, I mean, companionship. Ehm, yeah.
I do catch on to things rather quickly, like science and such. I certainly wouldn't classify myself as the "learning" type, but those kinds of things are almost natural. Perhaps its the glasses? Anyway, I'm getting off subject. I do love to draw. Very much. I'm not nearly in my drawing-prime yet, but I'm working on it.
Okay, my hand hurts, is that enough? Better be, because I wasn't really going to continue anyways. Thanks!
Student's Name: Emalia Ember Creme
Student's Background: Where did your student grow up? What were his/her parents like? Does he/she have any siblings, and how do they get along with said siblings? Do they know much about the magical world, or not? What is their personality like? Do they have any major/minor flaws? Any close friends? What do they think about going to Hogwarts? What are their future plans? Is he/she a foreign exchange student? Do they still live with their parents, or do they live with you?
Emalia grew up in Chartes, France, but acts like the perfect Parisian. Her parents are nothing too special. They are Henri and Mathilde Creme. Yes, like cream. Only better. Anyway, Henri is nearly 45, and wings of grey are just now extending from his temples, staining his dark brown hair. He is tall, 6'2'', and rather tan, with laugh-lines around his eyes and mouth. Smiles come easy to him, as they do with Emalia. Mathilde is 42, and considerably shorter, only 5'6''. Her hair is reddish-brown, wavy, and it falls just below her shoulder blades. Her mother isn't exactly tan or pale, just peachy. She is very indulgant, and loves to shower Emalia and her sister, Sabine, with clothing and presents. Her very favorite thing to do is to go shopping in flea markets and buy something silly like a very old silver comb, but she brings it home and makes a big to-do about it being her very favorite, an antique from her great-grandmother. Emalia gets her lying streak from exactly here, her mother.
Emalia has an older sister, Sabine, who has great curly locks of dark brown hair, fair skin, and dark brown eyes. Sabine is 19, and Emalia respects and admires her above all else. Sabine is currently living in Germany with one of her evanescent boyfriends, Peter. Emalia is constantly dreaming about living in a flat with a boyfriend and going to an university. She dreams of being poor and complaining about it, and wishes she could be so elegantly impoverished like Sabine.
Emalia's family is just now aware of the magical world, but acts as if they knew about it all along, and were just pretending earlier. That's how they are, the Cremes. Everything is so silly to them. "Oh, that poor lady down the street was robbed the other night. They took all her furnishings!" Mme Creme would say, and M Creme would laugh and reply, "Oh, how like a robber to steal the furnishings!" And then they both would laugh, long and hard, about how trivial robbers are.
Emalia is flighty, and petty. She loves making important-looking plans with diagrams, and then dashing them because she has to go ice skating on Sunday. She's always smiling, and if she's upset, then she pretends like she is not, and the problem floats away. She loves attention and because of that, she loves boys. It would be just like her to lead a boy on for weeks, accepting his gifts with a coy smile and a light laugh, and then one day simply say she cannot go out this weekend. She has other arrangements, and she hopes he'll understand. And that would be the end of that boy, and at the same time the beginning of another.
How others view her is rather important, she wants people to see her as lovely, elegant, approachable, and yet, she wants to seem apart and in her very own category. This can be a problem, because no one can really tell when she's faking it or being abosolutely serious. She also makes the mistake of disregarding any issues as trivial and not worth her concern. Even schoolwork takes second place after her whims.
Back in Chartres, Emalia's closest friend was Christie, a short girl with straight blonde hair and crystal green eyes. They were very close and did almost everything together, but every once in a while they would have a big fuss and carry it around with them for weeks, even if they had forgotten what it was about, before finally letting go once they needed someone to be their best friend again. But, now she has no one, really, and hopes to find another close friend soon.
Emalia loves Hogwarts Castle. She believes it to be properly dramatic, and positively giggles when she passes a talking suit of armor or gets stuck in a trick stair. Magic is something wonderful to her, but nothing too serious. It's just something she wants to do rather than something that's required. She has absolutely no plans for after school, because it's simply too far away. But when the time comes, she will probably have a graph all ready to fill in with her selections of futures.
Through some rather ordinary circumstances, Emalia was sent to live with Sukiwen, a sort of friend-of-the-family to the Cremes. Had she stayed with her family in France, she would have gone to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, an excellent school in its own, but less desirable than Hogwarts in her parents' eyes.
Emalia does miss her elegant life in France, as well as her family and friends, but she tries to keep her homesickness in check.
((Sorry it's so friggin long. o_o I promised myself I wouldn't ramble but...*points up* I did))
Student's Description: What does he/she look like? Build? Skin/eye/hair color?
Emalia is 11 years old. Her birthday is November 24th. She is 5'1'', exactly, and of slim build. Athletics bore her, so she has very little muscle tone, but will soon figure out that excercise is required as one loses their metabolism. Which will be in a while, so I doubt she'll be working out very soon. Her hair is red brown like her mothers, but stark straight. She has it cut short, but with long bangs that tickle her eyelids. Her eyes are dark blue, and her skin is moderately fair, but she tans easily, and gets a light speckling of freckles when she's out in the sun too long.
Please write a sample of a journal entry with your student. The possibilities can be either: -It's the middle of the night, and he/she is having trouble sleeping - it's their first night at Hogwarts.
Day one.
Or rather, early morning two. It's 2:13 AM, according to my watch, and I'm awake. Well, of course I'm awake. I'm writing, aren't I?
I'm sorry, no sleep has made me rather crabby. I think I'm just nervous, now that I'm here. Back home, everyone loved me. Are these people the same? They're all magic, maybe that makes them different. Oh, I hope not. I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of no-funs. Change of subject, I can't bear thinking about this.
The food here is delicious. I heard a boy say that they have house elves make it. Are the elves still awake now, making tomorrow's breakfast? I wonder how many there are. A hundred, maybe? Wouldn't it be grand if I snuck down now and caught them putting out the plates? A hundred little elves running around with golden plates...that sounds wonderful. Maybe I could sneak down. No, I'd need an accomplice. I've not met anyone worth working with yet. Maybe she's in hiding. Or perhaps I should be friendlier to my peers. They are my peers, after all.
The girl across the room from me looks well enough. She's sleeping with her legs up, knees bent, and they're poking out of the sheets like little mountains. I wonder what I sleep like. I wish I had someone to tell me. Maybe I can ask someone to watch me sleep? No, they'd think me insane! Maybe I could bewitch a camera to take a picture in the dead of night. That is, if I'm asleep. So far, I'm not.
Perhaps if I just n** down for a quick look at the house elves...yes, that will probably help me. Curiosity with keep me up otherwise, right?
Emalia Ember Creme
Emalia signed the bottom of the page with a flourish at the end, and smiled at the result. She was getting the hang of these feather pens, and in doing so discovered that they were excellent for flourishes. She just needed to avoid getting ink on anything. A stain simply would not do.
The young girl smiled and blew on the paper to dry the ink. As quietly as she could, Emalia parted the curtains of her four-poster and grabbed the lit candle on her bedside table. She had seen teachers walking the corridors with balls of light on the tips of their wands, but she didn't know how to do that. Yet. Seeing as how useful it was, she would have to learn that spell first.
She tiptoed down the stairs from her dorm, her flickering shadow right behind her. At least that was one companion she had. Before long, she had reached the common room. Oddly, the fire was out. Emalia would have thought it was magicked into staying alight all night long! But, what was that figure in the corner of her eye?
She turned on her heel, slowly as not to bring attention to herself, and saw that it was a very small figure, much shorter than herself, with large pointy ears and something in its hands. "A house elf!" She nearly shrieked, but held it in. How exciting! Her first house elf.
The elf didn't notice her, or really didn't care. He (or she, it could have been either) set the something down in front of the empty hearth. They must have been logs, because he began placing them, one by one, in the fireplace. Emalia watched him tuck in the big logs with bits of tinder, and then set the whole thing alight with a snap of his fingers. She nearly jumped, but that would have given her away.
In the new light, though, the house elf spotted her. Its large eyes grew wide before it began bowing frantically. "I am sorry, miss, I thought everyone asleep. Forgive me, I thought everyone asleep!"
"No, it's quite all right." Emalia said slowly. "I was just...getting to bed now." She let a smile play across her lips, and then turned to go back up to her dorm. A real house elf. Her very first. She supposed Hogwarts wouldn't be all bad, even if the people were unusual. There were just too many firsts she had yet to have, and Emalia couldn't leave without having experienced them all.
Once in bed, she blew out her light and grinned into the darkness. She was asleep before her head had a chance to hit the pillow.
