This is where most trainers start, where they get thier first pokemon. (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander) It is here that you meet the esteemed Prof. Oak, the leading reaserch on all things pokemon. It is a quiet, hilly town, where to the south, over the sea, you can surf to get to Cinnabar Island. Beyond that, however...
The Prof. Oak shall be played by none other then Your's Truely! Not that he'll be making much of an apperance alot of the time. sweatdrop But yeah, he's here.

Nichole blinked a few times and swore. Golden stripes adorned her crumpled face: She turned away from the sunlight slipping through her window blinds and saw instead the numbers on her alarm clock. Then, she just wanted to bury that face of hers into her pillow. Wait, forget that, she wanted to fuse with her pillow. No one would find her then. But, just as she finished that thought, they did. She held still when the knocking started...and became stiff as it grew louder.
"Honey? You in there? Open the door! OPEN THE DOOR! I KNOW you're awake!'" Her mother's voice was actually present, a normally satisfying surprise turned unpleasant, bringing to mind a fish monger...or a banshee. It had been a long time since Nichole heard anyone’s voice inside the two story afterthought, formerly called home. The nineteen-year-old let out a low, guttural groan while she continued to wish pillow osmosis were possible. “Now they try,” Nichole mused calmly as her mother prepared to tear down her drawbridge of a door with a lock pick, “Go figure.”
"You knew you were supposed to be early!" Her mother hissed as she hurled herself inside, shoving the metal break-in tool somewhere within her white lab coat. Nichole moaned again, rolled back onto her other side, and closed her eyes, letting the light of the sun warm them.
She felt her mom shaking her and mumbled, "headache."
"Headache." Her mother echoed coolly as she stepped back and peered over the lump of covers that was once her daughter. "Now, this headache of yours," said mom. "--has nothing to do with the fact that you were supposed to be at an interview with Oak an hour ago, does it?" She wore a conquistador's smile. She heard the covers hit the wall and the shower start, and then she sighed.
So much for the bird chirping, warm breakfast waiting, soft vocal awakening she once had planned for the occasion.

Prof. Oak was calmly sitting at his breakfast table, drinking tea with a very fermiliar looking Krabby. He smiled at the pokemon and showed it a slip of paper. On the paper appeared to be a rough sketching of Kanji, written in a slightly artistic pattern.
"Look Krabby, I've made another one! 'A Seel is pure white, the color of goodness, Light shining pureness'" Krabby clicked it's claws in approval, but the prof. didn't seem so convinced.
"No...it doesn't seem right...something is missing." He sipped his tea and went back to considering his Haiku.

The kitchen smelled foreign without the mixed aroma of chemical cleaners and dust. Syrup cooked in the microwave while the waffles went golden and soft. Nichole's mother admired her handiwork: the meal came in a box, but it beat stale oats and--hopefully--unsoured milk anyday.

"He he he he" Tally giggled, watching as she entered her house, burdened with groceries, but laughed when Espeon, Umbreon, and the others came charging down the stairs, "Hey you guys, so, how was it? Anything exciting happen?" Espeon jumped onto the table and peered into the bags, she immediately grabbed the bag of poketreats and started to tug at them, "Here, let me get that for you..." Tally ripped open the bag and tossed some of them onto the floor, watching as everyone gathered around.
