Welcome students...The assignment for this month is going to be:Draw realisticDon’t back away just because it sounds scary and non manga. Drawing realistic is important too, don’t you want your readers to recognise the table you’ve drawn (instead of them thinking it’s something weird with sticks under it). Just because you’re good at drawing characters, doesn’t mean your manga will work. Drawing realistic objects is something to practice too. Soooo, what kind of realistic object?
You may choose an object yourself, preferably something you have. So you can look at it while drawing (drawing from something real is way more helpful than drawing from a picture).
For the people who aren’t accustomed to drawing realistic, I suggest something like a chair. For the more expert people, try the stove or your closet with the doors open.
But again, you may choose it yourself.
Equipment you could use:
Some pencils, a ruler, erasers and paper. A scanner could come in handy or else a way to make a photo of it.
Again, for the anticlassic people among us, you can also make it on the computer with something like Photoshop.
Pay attention to:
-Details
Balance the details, don’t over detail it, but also don’t make it look to amateuristic.
-Straight lines
Sounds obvious, but if you sketch it too much, you could overlook some wobbly lines. And that doesn’t look too real.
-Don’t think of something yourself, draw something you have in front of you. It’s the best way to learn.
Ask in the thread if there’s anything you’d like to know about the assignment.
Don’t be scared because there’s so much text, it’s not to make the assignment more difficult. Week 44 [character]:

In my story, I needed another girl and a friend for the main character (Junko), and thus Momo was born. When I designed her, I thought of things I really find attractive: (very) curly hair and glasses; the red hair was because I originally had red hair. She is my favorite character because she looks attractive and in the story she is sexy (she's a model) and in a way I wish I could be like her. Her personality is one I wish I could have. She's awesome, friendly, caring, outgoing and isn't afraid of things. In the story she starts to have feelings for Junko, but Junko is already going out with someone. This is a situation I have been through myself. In the end, it seems that she will not have a love life. So the ways she resembles me: we have red hair, I wish I could look like her and act like her, and she goes through the same situations I do in life.

Shui
This character is inspired by Avatar.
Shui is 19 years old and masters the art of fire bending.
She burned down her school once when she was 14, later on they found out that she was suffering from winter depression which caused her to be irritated by every little thing. Her parents and doctor took the blame so she didn’t get arrested. After that, they moved a couple of times and eventually ended up in Ba sing sei.
Shui is mostly interested in learning new fire bending tricks and drawing portraits, that is what she wants to become when she grows up, a portrait artist who draws important people (maybe even the new fire lord with his family!).
Her parents buy expensive clothes for her in order to get accepted in the big private school she goes to, it bothers her a lot because her parents aren’t exceptionally wealthy. Then again, it does help.
She’s mostly a very cheerful and playful girl, though shuts down when she’s at school with all the snobby rich kids.
She practices her fire bending a lot down the valley near a big lake (just to be sure) and draws portrait during her lunch breaks at school.
She only has a few friends who go to different school; Miku ( heart ), an earth bending boy who lives next door, another earth nation boy named Batte and Suki a fire nation girl like herself.
