I just found this picture of a cute cupcake, and I wanted to make some for my nieces (Ages one and two) with both the Cookie Monster and Elmo.

I have a feeling his eyes are made of fondant, but I want to make sure. Does anybody know?

And does anybody know how to make that kind of texture for his 'fur'? I don't do pastries all that often, so any help on this would be very appreciated!

The eyes are probably marzipan, actually.

I find that fondant melts a little too easily even with more chocolate and less cream.

The blue stuff looks like it is coconut with blue food coloring in it. It'd be easy to roll a freshly frosted cupcake in it then make the slice for the cookie smile

Use blue frosting to cover up all the tiny little holes in the coconut to keep the look streamlined.

Thanks, for the help. I asked around and a lot of other people said marzipan (I didn't have time to get back to the thread and change it.).

When I get it done, I'll post pictures to show if it goes well. heart
