oOo Journal Entry oOo~~~ Veni, veni, venias, ne me mori facias ~~~ DingEbony greeted Aree as she entered the Sugar Fairies Shop and thanked her for bringing supplies for the Veniraffe summoning. Nodding when Aree mentionned she need to find a Harliekin tear, she had a quick look at the scroll and then turned to Aree who seemed interested in acquiring a Mushbroom flavoured FCSC. Poor Aree was already sneezing as if there was a cat in the room. Once she finished preparing the FCSC and gave it to Aree, and recommended to place it near the OMG, she bid Aree a goodbye and went to read the scroll more attentively. scroll says Spell to Summon A Veniraffe of Old3 drachms of Ether 2 scales from an elder dragon, 1 drop of pixy dust infused oil 1 tear from a Harliekin A pair of antlers from a forest lord stag A bunch of fairy dates 1 liberty cap 1 branch from an olive tree that grows in the land of faerie Soul stone Astronomical compass First pluck leaves from the olive branch and place them in a cauldron. Use the branch for the kindling of fire and put the cauldron to the flame. Next add 3 drachems of ether. Add the Liberty cap. Grind 2 antlers of a forest lord stag and 2 scales of an elder dragon with 1 drop of pixy dust infused oil. Add this paste and the fairy dates to the cauldron. Once the mixture boils stir 3 times hubward with a wand and then dip the soulstone in the mix. Take out and leave to dry. Next draw a summoning circle with chalk and trace with salt. Place the compass in the center aligning with the directions. Insert the soulstone in the center. Say the incantation: VENIRAFFE NVNC NE VIDES, NVNC ID VIDES She then examined each item. Good. She made sure to place the goods were they couldn't be reached by her Sugar Fairies, it would be an issue if they found the dates and ended eating them. She was looking forward forward to summon one of these slenders beasts known as Veniraffes, but first she needed to look for the Harliekin tear. Harliekin, that sounded a lot like Arlequin, the jester-like character from Commedia del Arte. A tear... like a Pierrot's tear... Ebony took the teleport stone in her left palm and rubbed it : "Tranpotis !"A flash of light illuminate the room, as Ebony disappeared into a puff of black smoke...

Odd place. It almost reminded a pandemonium. She came closer to the stick and carefully considered the talking stick. Althought it wasn't a Harliekin, as expected, there was a jester-like creature. Ebony usually didn't mind giving a hand but she was mistrustful, she had learnt from past experiences that helping people is not always a good idea. Especially jesters, they usually were tricksters that tended to break their promise. She decided to save so time by innocently asking this question : "Would you be able to stand up if I pull you out ?" And after a though : "This question and the one I asked before don't count of course, since I haven't help you yet.""And..." She quickly added : "As far as the riddle is concerned I guess the answer is water. It always go down and never up due to the force of gravity... A river flows from upstream to downstream, rain drops fall to the ground, and tears trickle down the cheeks. Even if one cry upside down, then it would go down the forehead. Water is both life and death because without water, there would be no life on Earth, yet at the same time one can get drown in water.
Now, here is my question, I am looking for an Harliekin tear, can you tell me what are the processes I need to take in order to get one ?"Quote: "Oh so that's the answer. I couldn't figure it out. Water sounds right." "Thanks for the help. You can't find Harlie she finds you. He sings a ditty: Ring a Ding Ding She come a calling Ring a ding She'll come and prank you." He adds: "Are you good with cards? Harlie loves cards. Her favorite card is the glittery lady. Mind you don't tell harlie a joke she'll burst out laughing then the tears come streaming. Not a pretty site nor sound. She snorts and tears when she laughs." He then bounces off on his way. So happy was Quinn to be free that he doesn't notice Harlie's bell falls out of his hat. Ebony replied while the talking stick was leaving. Ebony picked up the little bell and frowned wondering what it could meant by 'glittery lady' and what type of card game it could come from. Staring at the bell suddenly something came to her mind. Tinkerbell ? No, a Disney-themed card game... that would be to far fetched. She snickered and holding the bell, she gave it two flicks on the bell to make it ring. Ding Ding

If you choose right you can keep the bell and if you choose wrong I keep the bell. She waits for Ebony to choose a card and then adds "What you do here anyway you not a Harliekin or Cardkin?" Allright, Quinn's babbling was starting to make sense now. He had been quite helpful. Ebony regretted a bit her overcautiousness. "Hello Harlie, I don't exactly have a name but I'm usually know as Ebony Dragon. I'm here to collect an ingredient for summoning purposes. I just found the bell on the ground, someone dropped it.
Yes I do like cards too... And I guess your favorite is the Queen of Diamonds.
And... Would you mind listening to something ?"Quote: Harlie frowns slightly this Ebony Dragon person was the first to ever guess correctly. Most assumed it was the Harlequinn card. "I don't mind listening since you got it right. The bell you can keep I have plenty anyway" she jingles her feet a bit doing a small jig. She waits to listen all the while shuffling cards as a nervous habit. Ebony wasn't sure what type of joke a Harliekin would find funny, but she had to try anyway. " Did you ever notice that the word god is dog when spelt backwards ? And here is a little story :
A burglar walks into a house at night and shines his flashlight around. He immediately spots a stereo. As soon as he reaches it he hears a voice behind him say :
"Jesus is watching you."
He quickly shut his flashlight off thinking at first that someone had caught him, then after nothing happened, decided that he was hearing voices and turned the flashlight back on and started to unhook the stereo. But then he hears this again :
"Jesus is watching you."
The burglar was really scared but as he turned around to see what it was, he saw a parrot and felt quite relieved : "Did you say that Coco?" he asked.
"Yesss." the parrot replied. "My name is Mosesss. Not 'Cocooo'.
"What kind of people would name a parrot 'Moses'?" the thief laughed. "That such a stupid name !"
"The same kind of peeeople that would name a Dobermann 'Jesusss'." Quote: Harlie cocked her head and started to laugh at the joke. But when Harlie started laughing sometimes she couldn't stop so kept laughing and tears started streaming down her eyes. "That was funny" She managed say between laughing. "She pulls out a small kerchief and dabbed at her eyes. Not one to care on littering she tossed the kerchief on the floor with a flourish. While bent over she took the opportunity to tie a thin ribbon between Ebony Dragon's shoes. She did love to prank and couldn't resist. "Well I'm off" she said. She popped out just as she had come. Ebony advanced to pick up the tear and almost tripped... "Damn.." She grumbled a bit, by principle, she didn't really mind though, she was expecting some kind of prank at some point and more importantly she managed to get a Harliekin tear. She got rid of the string with her shoe blade and picked up the kerchief. She opened her bag hanging on her belt with the other one, took a tiny bottle and placed it on the ground. She crouched and taking off the cristal cork, she twisted the wet kerchief over the mouth of the bottle and a drop falled, filling it up. It was great time to leave this place and go home to proceed to the summoning. Ebony replaced the cork and shoved the bottle containing the last ingredient she needed for the Veniraffe in her bag, she took the teleport stone and pronounced the magic word that would lead her home again. "Tranposis!"Ebony found herself back to the Sugar Fairies shop. She went to fetch the other ingredients, along with the material and the scroll. Reading the latter again to have all instructions in mind for the summoning, she noticed it didn't actually mentionned the Harliekin tear or the bird masks. She thus decided to rang Aree for confirmation : "Allo Aree ? How are you ? Sorry to disturb you, I'm calling to clear up something. I noticed the scroll didn't mentionned about the Harliekin tear, except on the ingredient list. So when and how should I used it during the summoning process ? Also, I'm not sure about the masks, what should I use them for ?"

oOo Journal entry oOo ~~~ Now you see it, now you don't ~~~ "Hi Ebony. Must have been an oversite on the scribe's part. You add a drop of Harliekin tears to the soulstone once inserted in the compass before saying the incantation. The masks are quite optional for most summonings. Some mages like to wear them for fun or to command respect from the creature they are summoning. I hope your spell goes well.
I'd like to thank you on the corn FCSC for Aredhel she and Ceres are getting along famously. " "Allright, thanks for the information ! And you're welcome, I'm glad to hear Aredhel and the Corn Fairy are getting well along. !"Ebony decided to to isolate herself in the calm of the shop basement to perform the summoning. After a thought, she decided to bring Tako, as he was interested in summons, she recalled the time when she found him and Ichiko and Bibiko trying to summon a Kraken, ready to put shop to fire with their candles. Tako listened attentively while she explained him what she intended to do with some basis on summoning. After theory, it was time to action. Following the instructions written on the scroll, Ebony started by plucking the olive branch and put the leaves into the cauldron. Igniting the bare branch with a fire spell, she then put the cauldron to flame and added the ether and the liberty cap to the olive leaves. Taking the mortar and the pestle, she grinded the antlers and the dragon scales, not forgetting to add the drop of pixy dust infused oil from the long-necked phial. Once the paste became homogenous, she scattered it into the cauldron. She then took the fairy dates and dip them one by one into the mixture as well, and waited till the whole thing started to boil. Taking the summoning wand, she stirred three times hubward and plunged the glowing blue soul stone into the caudron, before taking it out and let it dry. Now it was time to take care of the summoning circle. With a piece of red chalk, she traced it onto the floor and place the compass according as indicated in the scroll and then inserted the soulstone. Taking the tiny bottle containing Harlie's tear, she removed its cristal cork and poured the liquid onto the stone. With a quick gesture, she made the masks levitated in the air, the ebony one on her left and the ivory one on the right. Closing her eyes, Ebony concentraded : "VENIRAFFE NVNC NE VIDES, NVNC ID VIDES !"Aree A cloud of green and red started to form emanating from the compass slowly forming around the soulstone. The cloud started to form shape and get denser as the soulstone levitated aove the compass. Soon a graceful veniraffe with copper tinted antlers stood on the compass. Ebony patted its muzzle. "Welcome here ! Sacree Aree ! I must say I didn't expected this at all. A strawberry Veniraffe stag !"Tako : "Wow he sure is amazing ! And he matches well with Ichiko !" he remarked. "Allright", Ebony said, "can't let him stay here forever, let's take him outside. I'm sure he longs to see the sunlight and will pleased himself in the nearby woods."
