Some mythological stories draw us more than others. Here you can share your favorites. I'll start.

It's the story that explains why Kali Ma is depicted with her tongue out, and also why she is often shown with one foot on Shiva's chest. It doesn't fully explain the latter (at least, not to the extent in other versions I've read). Basically Shiva appeared as a corpse. Believing she had killed her consort Kali Ma stopped raging to grieve. Shiva then turned into an infant, which Kali Ma nurtured.

that is really cool. i did kind of wonder... i assumed at the time it was just a portrayal of her character, but it's good to know that there's a reason for it.

I really love the story of Persephone being aducted but Hades. If you don't know it I can tell it, but Persephone is my favorite greek Goddess. I feel she learned to love Hades.

The tale of Rhiannon. Ironically that's also my name. But it made me cry when she was accused of killing her son but then he reappears again.

I also like the tale of Izanmi and Izanagi. And Amaterasu.

I also love the story of the capture of Kore-Persephone. Other than the fact that it's a GREAT story, Hecate is in this one! =)

That's where you get the trinity of Kore-Persephone(Maiden), Demeter(Mother), and Hecate(Crone)
