Just stuck this in the TG Guild and figured that I'd pop it here too, taken frommy personal LJ and various LJ communities.

I am cross-posting this all over the place, because I am just so giddy.

Okay, so! My biggest concern on Testosterone was always what impact it would have on my singing voice. I have always loved to sing, it makes me happier than anything else in the world, regardless of my lack of skill. I'm not an especially good singer, but God how I love it so much.

So, I've been recording my voice regularly with speaking and also singing, and now at 25 weeks (nearly 6 months) on Testosterone, I have decided to share some of the results for anyone who is also interested in the effect of Testosterone on one's singing voice.

As I previously said, it's beautiful. <3

I wasn't worried about my singing voice when I started T, because I sounded like a 6 years old girl before, so I knew it couldn't be worse.

All that happened is I now have the voice of a gothic opera singer. Anything higher is out of my range... sweatdrop

I have worried about that too. I love my singing, and I'm actually pretty proud of my singing voice, because many people have told me it's good. Also, I have known I'm good with tone and rhythm. I haven't started T yet, but I already have a voice that passes for a boy about my age, both normal speaking voice and singing. I think that I should probably be fine, though, once I get the hang of the way my voice is changing. I'll just have to exercise my voice a lot more than normal, probably. See, what I do now, is try to hum as low as I can, and as high as I can (without sounding like a girl), and everything in between. Whatever I have trouble on, I do it more. Usually I start off low. That usually gets my normal voice to naturally sound like a guy's. It just sticks like that after a while, and becomes my natural voice. Anyways, with the same exercises I use to make my voice sound more masculine, and to expand my singing range, I think if I keep doing that, my voice should be fine. smile
