Right, so, I haven't shaved my legs for going on two years now. I considered it one of the few things I had in my power to do that would up my masculinity level. And for a while it was great. Feeling the wind blow through your leg hair is an interesting and amusing sensation, the first few times it happens.
However, recently, I've been looking down at my hairy legs and going, "ew." Not just because they're hairy, of course, but it's the hair itself that's getting to me. While bioguys and transguys on t tend to have thickish, curly hair, my leg hair, for the most part, lies flat, or sticks up in a few places. TMI, and bluntly, it looks kind of like a**l hair. Ick.
The only hair on my leg I like is the stuff from ankle to mid calf, where it curls, and looks much more like the stuff biodudes grow.
SO. Basically I'm posting all this to say:
I'm thinking about shaving my legs until I get on T, because I think that my leg hair growth patterns identify me as a bull dyke who doesn't want to shave her legs, when I could be looking like an athlete who shaves his.
I just sort of feel like shaving might be some sort of strike against my intrinsic trans-ness because it's a traditionally femme thing to do, and even though all these he-men athletes shave their legs I still feel less trans-y for it.
TL;DR: I'm thinking about shaving my legs again and its making me feel insecure in my trans-ness.
Edit: Right, ******** it all, I've manned up and done it. If I hate it it'll always grow back.
