I recently got a job at McDonald's a few weeks ago. I was so happy when I first started. But it's taken me days to crochet a simple cozy for my 3DS.
I never have enough time to craft anymore! gonk

I work in an office when I have holidays from uni and I've found it was good to take some knitting in to do one my lunch hour. Plus it was a talking point for meeting new people.

I work at a museum where I pretty much do whatever is needed. One time I was in charge of an arts and crafts project for a group of kids that were having a birthday party there. I also got to brainstorm new project ideas for our kids activities.
Plus I got a boss who got me interested in steampunk and discusses anime with me.
It all depends on the job you get and how you manage time when it comes to mixing crafts and work.
Daycare and teaching have to be some of the better jobs for it if you don't want a job that totally consists of crafting, which could take the fun out of it. Just helping my friends and family that do daycare and teach with the craft stuff they do with the kids is great.

Teaching and that is more of a career then a job.
A job is not really suppose to be something you like, its something you do to get money till you get that awesome career.

Ughhh work does suck. /works later
I've worked at my job for about 4 years and I'm not a manager because my siblings decided it would be a good idea for them to work there too. = A= And then the current managers have made the place go to the shitter, not the General Manager, but the other managers who are my age and haven't worked there as long as I have(!) and make other employees do stupid things that aren't actually part of their jobs for the hell of it. I'm so ready to explode on them all... aghhh. I don't have much time for anything, because when I'm not working, I feel like I need to savor my days off because they're so few and far between and my job just sucks.

That's exactly how I feel on my days off. And I work nights, normally I work 7pm to 3am, so I'm exhausted and sleep all day. gonk And that sucks, your managers sound like complete idiots. sweatdrop

At this point I think I'd rather be working than revising for the same closed exams, again. Why I decided to do a maths degree and not go into some kind of apprenticship I do not know.

Ah, the dilemma; when you finally have the money for craft suppluies, the job swallows your crafting time.
I just started my 4th year working at the same place. My job is also in the restaurant/service industry, taking care of interval refreshments at a concert hall. smile The job is simple and easy to get in to, no previous experience needed and education in the field has proven to even be in the way for some of the stuff we do. But we take great pride in our work and strive to do it well, and our team is amazing.
Most days I have my mornings and afternoons free, as there are concerts and performances only in the evening. I spend those crafting, reading and taking care of the house. Most of my coworkers are students. The job pays the bills, and I have time for crafting, too. smile I never believed such a simple job could turn out to be my dream place.

I only have had a few shifts at my new job but I find with life, job and with some conventions coming up its hard to craft! So much to do in so little time!
I'm glad I have short shifts next week!
