Inuka practically ran off of the boat and onto the dock of the South Port. She was happy to take a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air and glancing behind her. Ryuuichi was tentatively stepping towards his new trainer, glancing at the water nervously.
"Come on, Ryuuichi! I'll get you some nice berry juice while we're in town. How does Pamtre sound, hm?" Inuka bribed in a sing-song voice.
The Charmander seemed to perk up slightly, before happily running forward, wriggling his arms up towards Inuka. She smiled slightly and lifted the small Poke'mon into her arms, glancing towards the wavering flame at the tip of his tail. From what she remembered, a wavering flame meant that Charmander was happy.
"Let's go find this place's Poke'mon Center, `kay?"
Ryuuichi nodded enthusiastically, tilting his head slightly so he could see Inuka. Sometimes he wished that he wasn't blind in one eye, but Inuka always said he was perfect the way he is. That made him happy...

"Yo ho, yo ho! A pirate's life for meee..." "Gol duck, gol duck, goliolioduck~!"
People scattered, clutching at their ears, small animals howled in pain, and a couple of car alarms went off as a grating, two-part disharmony rang from a small side-street behind the Pokecenter. No one could quite pinpoint where the noise was coming from (mostly because they were too busy trying to get away from the ear-drum busting mockery of music), but it seemed to be coming from two figures walking along said side-street. One was a short-ish girl, probably in the vicinity of 5'0" tall, who sported (apparently) natural magenta hair and upon closer inspection, a small Sentret cowering in pain on her shoulder. The other "singer" appeared to be a tall, rather handsome Golduck wearing pirate garb and a faraway, yet somehow smug look.
The two continued both their song and their trek until they reached the door of the Pokecenter. Here, they were forced to cease in both actions, as the chief nurse refused to let them in until they stopped scaring off the other trainers with their horrible duet.
"Well, I never...", fumed the red-headed trainer, as she ceased her ear-drum abuse, "People just don't appreciate good port music anymore, do they, Jack?"
Jack regarded his trainer with an almost celestial smile. "Golll, duckduck gol. Dugol old duck gold gol gol duck, golduck? Goldu duck, duck gol go... Golllllduck gol.l" (Hey, it's alright... Port music isn't what makes the port great, anyways, savvy? It's the air, the atmosphere... The pretty sea wenches...)
The trainer gave her Golduck an amused, but confused look. "Whatever you say, Jack."
"Gol."

Luckily, by following the sound of the ear-splitting music, Inuka managed to find the particular place she was looking for. She entered the Center not long after the red-head, carefully setting Ryuuichi down and absently tucking a lock of chestnut hair behind one ear.
While his trainer was talking with the nurse on duty, Ryuuichi absently wandered over to the interesting Golduck, blinking mismatched eyes towards him.
:What were you singing?:
The Charmander was tentative when questioning the other Pokemon, glancing towards the counter where his trainer was gathering supplies.
((Isn't he? I nearly had a heart attack when I rolled a 1 in the Spring Fling event... xd Also, the colons and italics are how I denote Pokemon speak!))

Jack started a little as a seemingly bodyless voice started out of nowhere and asked him a question. (Eh? What the-) He looked down, and saw the little Charmander standing at his feet. (Oh, hey there... Didn't see ya for a sec'.) He smiled as warmly as one could with a beak. (Me 'n' my trainer were singing some port songs a little while ago... Mainly "Pirate's Life", in commemoration of this port, the sea... well, everything pirate-y actually.) The Golduck got a dreamy look in his eyes again. (It's great to be back near th' sea...)
Etain stood quite near the other trainer, glaring at a vidphone that was hanging off of the wall. She seemed to be highly upset at the male nurse on the screen. "Daaaaale! Whaddya mean, they must've lost it? How do they loose a big of a tube of antibacterial cream? Ugh... what'm I gonna do about poor 'Reo's scratches? I don't want 'm to get infected..."

Ryuuichi gave the Golduck a soft smile, idly fingering his tail and looking towards Inuka again.
It had taken a little bit of time, but Inuka had finally managed to get a map of the area and the supplies she needed to start her journey. She was about to get ready to leave with Ryuuichi, but stopped when she saw the Golduck he was talking to.
"Who's your friend, Ryuu-chan?" she asked softly, kneeling down next to the Charmander with a small grin.
((Ack, sorry it took so long to reply. I've been having some serious issues with the internet lately... sweatdrop ))

(Really? We, 'm glad that you and your trainer decided to remedy that by comin' here. Port towns are th' bes' place ta get accquainted with th' world, ya know. In more ways 'n one.) He chuckled a little at that, not really expecting the cute, little Charmander to get the full meaning of that statement.
He blinked a little, then smiled back at the Charmander. He sure was a cute little guy, to be sure. His trainer wasn't bad, either... He turned the smile up to Inuka. "Golol?" (How do?)
Oreo smirked from Etain's shoulders. This was getting... predictable. He slipped off of his trainer's shoulders and, wincing a little with each step, made his way over to the group. He shimmied his way up and curled up on Jack's head. (Do us all a favor and at least restrict your flirtatious attitude to girls of the same species, eh, Jack?)
Jack merely muttered something unidentifiable in reply.
