Down on one of the launch sites, a heated competition begins. Or...not? It's not entirely clear.

A bulldozer has broken down and it's fallen to you to help get it up and running again. Either through an understanding of mechanics, a good hard smack, or handing tools off to an engineer, you manage to get the thing running again.

Small and steady on her feet, Tsarzi was an ideal candidate to be helping with supply distribution, able to climb atop the rows of steel beams and maneuver around. Labels needed attached to the ends of each bundle with numbers, steel grade, and intended use. Tsarzi was handed a stack of notes, a pen, and a bag of zip ties. So she was working her way through labelling stacks. S Steel, Site Delta 4B. E Steel, Site Beta 2C. It was a little tedious, but she found herself trying to pick out the visible differences, whatever they may be, between the steel intended for reinforced concrete and electrical steel. For large scale construction like this and building te platforms needed to dock the ships being recovered, the various steels all played parts. Tsarzi hadn’t thought she would get so personally involved in construction, but it was taxing physical venture that created something, gave physical, solid results.

Hopping down from the grid pile of beams and sheets she’d been marking for transfer, she halted when she heard what had become a semi familiar noise and felt and automatic tension pull her spine straighter. Her head turned, seeking the source, and there, across the way, a bit distant, she saw the bulldozer. Some sputters of smoke ran from it, but nothing utterly black which meant no bad burning at least. Certainly an issue that would need quick attention.

It took Tsarzi a couple minutes to find the supply export coordinator and hand off her pack and checklist. A quick inspection and confirmation of her efforts and she was relieved from supply distribution.

Now then.

Tsarzi stalked back to where she’d been when she saw the bulldozer before, and the heavy machinery seemed to still by idling there, a thin trail of smoke bleeding from it as it crew colder the longer it idled. Seemed no one else was quicker to the job then. The drop off in efficiency and prioritizing was irritating, but it seemed not uncommon around here. She would just go take care of it herself them.

As Tsarzi strode towards the machine though, she could hear noises, a thunk of metal and her eyes narrowed imperceptibly. Approaching as a somehow brisker pace now, she circled around to the other side and had to pause to take in the scene.

What in the world.

Oh, she was REAL done with these stupid bulldozers. They were way too big and WAY too dumb, and didn't respect an old-fashioned beating.

"MOVE!" Quella yelled, kicking the stupid metal contraption. Predictably, it did not. It just sputtered dumbly and made a roaring sound. Frustrated, Quella kicked it a few more times, then jumped up onto the canopy effortlessly. Jumping up and down did not cave in the cabin as she'd been hoping, but it did produce several satisfying dents and squeals of metal. "Why... won't you... start!" she yelled jumping up and down. Oh, that was satisfying, but the dumb thing still wasn't moving. Quella was amazed at the endurance of the bulldozers, but they were getting REALLY annoying.

"Ok, you know what, bulldozer? I've had enough." She held her spear right in front of the thing's windscreen, making sure that it could see it real well. "Don't test me. I'll do it!" The bulldozer didn't flinch. Quella narrowed her eyes. These things had no survival instinct at all. None. The blueblood slowly began to count down from five.

The bulldozer didn't flinch.

With a shriek of anger, Quella drew back and drove her spear right through the windscreen of the machine with a crunch. She hadn't wanted to kill the bulldozer, but... well it was really annoying her. Strangely, it didn't seem to affect the thing much. The bulldozer still chugged quietly to itself, comfortable in it's new spear-pierced existence. Quella was confused.

Footsteps fell behind the blueblood, and she pulled the spear from the bulldozer's windscreen with a crunch and whipped around, ready to fight. It was the bulldozer's parent, angry with her for killing it's offspring! Quella tensed for something even larger than the animal in front of her.

Oh. It was another blueblood.

Quella waved sheepishly.

"Hi! I'm Quella! Do you uh... do you know how these things work?"

Where no possible future prominence could outshine the darkness that rotted in its past and still clung to the deeper recesses with no doubt. One such place was the squalor hellhole that was Kirkwall. Alexandros was not one to believe in the propensity for change, people were creatures of habit that rarely changed course without some extreme personal conviction. Most cases people point to any group of people undergoing some ‘change’, it wasn't by some conviction and desire to actually change themselves. They were wiped out and replaced until all that remained were those who agreed with the new vision, or would at least play the part until it came time to repeat the process all over again. Now he found himself in Kirkwall once again chasing down new rumors of corruption running rampant once more in the Templar order. Where else but Kirkwall, honestly. The place stank of blood, corruption, and greed acting like some kind of lightning rod for all nefarious actors to culminate and plot. By Her Will, they will be purged. Investigations always began in the same place, even the most cautious men had loose lips once enough ale poisoned their systems, endorphins released by sex clouding the mind’s capacity to think logically led to a dangerous leak in precious intel. Most of his Seeker brothers and sisters had always tried to convince Alexandros about the possibility of more subtle approaches, to at least attempt to hide one’s identities when conducting the initial portions of these investigations, but it was not for Alexandros. To obscure himself, would be to obscure Her Will. He would not hide, any early warning to his presence was simply a mercy. If they were smart, they would abandon their cause in his presence and reaffirm themselves to Her Will. Adorned in his usual dark armor, he took a longstride as he entered the brothel. Those sober enough to pay attention, made themselves smaller to avoid Alexandros’ gaze, some even opting to leave at the sight of him. The Seeker crest was emblazoned on his chest in bright silver, only obscured by the cloak that did its best to hide away Alexandros’ armored figure. He only did a brief scan of the room as he lazily moved towards the front desk. Before he could even get a word a sultry voice whispered out from behind the counter. ”By the Maker~ The enigmatic One Eye in my humble establishment?” Alexandros’ eye dragged themselves to the brothel owner. He recognized the voice almost instantly, an old acquaintance from his travels. A vixen of a woman he only knew by the name Calandra, she swore it to be her true name but he was unsure how deep the well of her trust really ran. Regardless, she had always been a friendly face. Though, sometimes actively too friendly. Alexandros had initially started his solo excursions. ”Calandra, I figured even you would find a place like this beneath you.” ” While I have to admit, the atmosphere leaves much to be desired, the coin and opportunities are not short in supply. ” Her head tilted as she spoke, leaning closer. ” Surely you’ve come to take my offer and abandon that good boy routine? Not hunting down more rumors of bad men.” ”Not this time, my Lady. I’m here for business as usual. Just want to talk to the girls after they’ve finished entertaining their guests.” Alexandros’ voice maintained the same level of calm and quiet. He wanted to believe the rumors were just wild stories spun out of control, but he felt it crawling up his spine. The chill that came with something’ terrible. ”Be careful Calandra..” Alexandros nodded as he pushed away from her. Calandra just held the same mischievous grin. A smile like that he knew could bring Kings to their knees begging for more. He was still thankful, she had not yet found reason to call him her enemy. He aimed to find some place in the back, where he could have enough privacy to not be annoyed with brothel stupidities but still close enough to maintain the ability to eavesdrop on conversations. Once he had information, he wanted; It only took a few conversations with some of the... workers to figure out who had spilled sweet secrets of greed and treachery in the arms of love. At least that was the plan. ”My apologies,” A feminine voice drew his attention away from his inner plannings as his eye moved to meet his interruption. ”Some assistance? I don’t work here, but people seem to think that I do. The drunken templar stumbled after the woman forcibly took hold of her waist as he tried to pull her to bed. Alexandros stepped forward without a word of response to the elf who had requested his help, placing himself between her and the Templar. ”The Lady is practically running away from you, surely you are not so far gone to get the message?” The Templar stumbled a bit taken back by the sudden appearance of Alexandros’ imposing figure. Liquor supplied the courage he shouldn’t have. His words came in slurred nonsense. ”Oh, shhfucvk off. Yooouu can shjust wait your turn. I sahw her firsht.” The Templar tried shoving past, but Alexandros was a proverbial wall of steel. He half-stepped forward leaning in, beginning to whisper something in the Templar’s ear. Words indecipherable but clearly had some sobering effect as his brow furrowed in disgust while looking at the elf. Softly, Alexandros turned the disorderly Templar in a different direction pointing him at one of other girls that was actually a part of Calandra’s clientele. The dumb rosy look on his face returned. ”Y-youush not so bad, aftserhall.” As he stumbled off into the arms of the whore. He gave a one-off look to Calandra who eagerly seemed to anticipate violence, only to sigh offhandedly at Alexandros’ amicable defusing of the situation. ”I would avoid haunts like these if you’re not equipped to deal with them, my Lady.” Alexandros off-handedly spoke his gaze casting down at the elf. Something was definitively off about her. Any one on Calandra’s staff, woman or not, would beat any drunkard senseless for chasing after them unwanted and in general any woman in this city wouldn’t have second-guessed manhandling a drunkard getting too grabby. Nor was someone like him the first choice people generally made to be rescued. If he hadn’t had a task to follow, he’d delve deeper into those suspicions but for now he would return to his goal at hand. Quiet place, earshot of as many talking groups as possible, fade into the background. One of Calandra’s non-’working’ staff placed some flagon of ale on a table in the far back and beckoned him. ”Miss--” Alexandros held up his hand to stop her speech, handing her a bag of coins. ”She knows better. That’ll be all.” From the side of his eye he caught Calandra’s figure scheming once more. A dangerous woman that thankfully enjoyed toying with him and playing games then anything else.
