//IntroductionThis guide is not to be used religiously, but rather as some interesting exposition or information about the cultures that are featured in this Breedables. It is perfectly fine if you want to use your own gods, rituals, races, magic, ect -- and in fact, it would be highly encouraged that you use your own.
Aliapaer, after all, is supposed to be a make-shift quilt of lost cultures, so anything your imagination comes up with is sure to be fine...
More information may be added or changed anywhere in this guide at a later point. Keep in mind that this is pretty much a work-in-progress. If you have any questions about any of this information, you are free to PM me -- Cerena -- or post in the Rules and Q&A post.

//races+Elves are an offshoot species of humans that are identified by their longer and slimmer limbs, weaker muscles but heightened senses -- both physical and magical. They are hard to classify as they are diverse as normal humans; generally they are deeply set in their own ways of surviving through their own skills instead of relying on machinery as some humans do now. In the past, those who were elves served as priests and priestesses to gods, but as the population expanded their specialized roles faded into obscurity.
+Humans, much like we are ourselves, are those who are most deeply ingrained with the possibility of becoming anything they reach for.
+Demons are those who are considered by others to completely corrupted towards the side of darkness. True demons have little to no consideration for anyone living other than themselves, and seek to make the world as painful a place as it is reflected to them. Very rarely do true demons take human forms -- and if they do, it is still likely that they would be immediately recognized for what they are.
+Ae-Demons (or better refered to as half-demons) are demons further from the path of darkness, and like their name suggests, may be half-human or half-elven (but never half-angel.) They are still subjected to emotions and weaknesses (unlike true demons who are believed to be living on an entirely different plane altogether); they are not necessarily the spawn of a demon and some other race, but instead a human that has defected completely to the Chaotic side of alignment.
+Angels is the general (but not the only) term used to refer to those completely absorbed into the Light. They, like the true demons, are not physical beings but instead those who are thought to reside on a different plane that attempt to affect the physical one towards their own purposes. They seek to rid the world entirely of corruption.
+Ae-Angels (or half-angels), like half-demons, are the physical incarnations of true Angels, or simply a living being that defected entirely to the Lawful side.
+The term cursed refers to those (of any race) that were born with the power to use/manipulate/drain magic directly from the planet. Because doing so is popularly believed to slowly kill the world they lived in, Earth-related magic was thus outlawed under penalty of death (one of the only things many -- but not all -- races can manage to agree on.) There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which people are born with that ability, but once it's established that they have it they are either put to death or forced to undergo some sort of ceremony to bind or remove that power. It used to be that it was simply sealed into the person -- using a volatile mineral that was implanted into a person's skin to form some sort of prison for the magic -- but as that resulted in many deformities, illnesses, and even deaths, it is now common practice to simply remove the magical ability altogether.

//MagicMagic is something that scientists and magic-users alike have struggled to define. The easiest (but not necessarily the most accurate) way to do so is to describe magic as being a kind of volatile energy -- drawn from people, elements, objects, or even the planet itself -- that is shaped and used by a person's will.
So far, there are six primary ways to shape magic -- some use combinations of these techniques to more specifically define and control the magic.
+Incantations; which should be easy enough to understand -- summoning forth the magic through spoken words. A person can be trained to release certain types of magic after speaking words, and this is one of the easiest (but tedious) ways of using it.
+Gestures; like spoken words, simple gestures (using your hands is the most common way of doing so) can be used to release magic.
+Seals; magic circles, drawn symbols, and the like.
+Agents; candles, spell ingredients, ect.
+Runes; writing a spell down and having it.. er... come true.
+Will; the hardest of all techniques but the most powerful, very few people can manage this.
//Recorded types of magic
_Adjuration_ Abjuration; Conjuration; Evocation; Invocation; Summoning;
_Comprehancy_ Divination; Necomancy; Precognition; Recognition;
_Elemancy_ Aquamancy; Auromancy; Manamancy; Pyromancy; Tellurmancy; Vivimancy;
_Fallamancy_ Delusion; Illusion;
_Mesmerism_ Enchantment; Hypnosis;
_Telemancy_ Telekinisis; Teleportation; Telepresence; Telecreation; Telemutation;
_Thaumaturgy_ Diablerie; Theurgy;

//AlignmentThe effects one's alignment can have upon one's magic/character/viewpoint of the world.. Don't worry too much about it now, alignment and stats do not feature prominently until teen stage.

//LostThe lost seems to be a general term applied to the bodyless souls left to wander around the remains of Aliapaer. However, it's also been heard to refer to a variety of monsters that are expected to try and destroy Desiderium at a later point...
