Name: Juniper, or Junebug by friends and family.
Personality:
As a pup, Juniper is a bit insecure but full of ambition. Climbing trees didn't come easily to her, not when her parents tried to first teach them, nor towards the end of her youth. It had often been described to her as learning how to walk — one day, it'd supposedly
click, and then she, too, would traverse the treetops with her pack and family. Except, that didn't happen; with each attempt came failure in the form of flailing limbs, bruised backsides, and— when she pushed herself
too hard —torn claws. Each failure stung worse than the last, leaving lasting emotional scars she tried to tend to on her own. On the outside, Juniper remained her cheerful, bubbly self, but to those who knew how to pay attention, she was hurting. What would happen to her if she couldn't master the most basic skillset seemingly everyone in the pack naturally found themselves attuned to? She never feared being kicked out, as she liked to believe her pack loved her enough not to, but the thought of being unable to carry her own weight made her childhood heavy and burdened.
Still, she pushed herself, never giving up despite the numerous injuries she collected under her fur, nor when the brief glances of concern from her parents felt like lead weights on her heart.
When all hope was almost lost, Juniper found the final push she needed came from her father and the crown he bestowed upon her. It gave her the courage she needed to try again, one final time, before her coming of age. Juniper scraped her way into the dark pine forest while everyone slept, claws digging into the poor, beaten tree she had been clawing and falling from her entire life. Perhaps it was the crown, or mayhaps her own determination, or a mix of both, but that night, Juniper
climbed.
It was then that her personality would take a sharp shift, rejuvenated by pride in her ability to push forward when all else seemed impossible and gratitude for those who believed in her. As an adult, Juniper is rambunctious, playful, and generous with her time and craft. She's eager to help young pups learn to walk among the trees and spends much of her time mentoring when able. It's also fairly unlikely to see her step foot on the ground unless absolutely necessary — she fought tooth and nail to get into the canopy, and the canopy is where she'll stay!
One of the biggest things that truly gets under her skin is those who bring others down for their faults, and those who just
give up. She will always support the underdog and offer her shoulder until they no longer want it (and, truthfully, probably a bit after then, too!), but to the ones who bring others down and prey on someone's inability, she's biting and cold. It's a rare moment to see her genuinely
angry, and it's not a pretty sight.
Ideas for future plots:
Flightless Bird: She will spend most of her youth failing to learn both how to climb trees and walk amongst the canopy. It'll take a great hit on her self-image, but she'll push forward. This struggle will later fuel her future personality as an adult.
You're Royalty, Too: Through some sort of conversation or event, Juniper is given a crown like her dads! It serves as a constant reminder of the family she belongs to, her place within it, and her parents' faith in her.
Flightless No More: As if by miracle, Juniper conquers the trees the day before she's officially seen as a proper adult. She returns home in the wee hours of the morning with scrapes and a cut lip, but a beaming smile on her face. She did it, and she's pretty sure she couldn't have without the support of her family.
The Teacher I Became: Influenced by her struggles and equipped with a unique understanding of what it felt like to feel so behind the rest of the pack, Juniper will request a role in teaching young pups, with an exceptional focus on their first climb.
Pups? Pups!: Of course, I'd love for her to settle down and have a family, but at the bare minimum, I'd want her to have puppies. It'd be sweet if one struggled as she had, so she could see herself in them and help heal her inner child.
Other Ideas: I'd love RP with the family, if anyone is willing! I miss RP and would enjoy it again. I also would seek a partner for her down the line, whether that be by finding someone in my own journal (unlikely, but I do self-pair if someone struggles to find someone), or with another player. I hope to have more plot points and stories introduced by RP/plots with others! I am very attached to her concept and would seek out activity with her, especially within her pack ; u ;
