With more of the city mapped out, thanks to the recent little mission Desiree had tasked her and one of the other team members with, Dualite felt it easier to wander and do some of the tasks that had been requested of her. Draining, gathering energy, and looking for senshi and knights who were causing trouble for the Negaverse, or for the Mirror Court.
It wasn’t a hard task, especially with the ability to teleport, even if it did make her tire out faster. She didn’t need to touch people, or get terribly close even, which made the task not as annoying as it might have otherwise been. The people of this city seemed to go on about their business, noses to screens and oblivious to the world around them. Something about it unsettled her; with such access to information, it seemed to be going to waste almost.
Walking down a side alley, watching the orb of energy grow larger in her palm, she paused as she felt something change in the air around her. Like something blinking back into existence in the city, and it brought a sharp little frown to her face.

Kinsey had been up to his wonder, because why else did he ever power up? He’d powered up only a handful of times not to go up to space, because the fighting in this city was not his concern - he did not care. He already had enough fighting in his life to last him a lifetime - he did not need more, nor did he want more. Though he did keep reminding himself that he was nearing eighteen, the end of October, he just had to hope he lived that long. His mothers lawyer had been contacted by him, he needed to make sure if anything happened to himself the money would not go to his family at all, but to where he hadn’t known at first. It really wasn’t an easy choice to make, he wasn’t close to anyone, there was no one he knew that he wanted to gift the money to. He could have put Luciana but he knew she had money, came from money, so he hadn’t listed her.
The idea had finally hit him…charity. It would drive his family insane and so deciding to be vindictive, because if they killed him somehow he wanted to screw them over as well, he’d decided an animal rescue would get the money. One which dealt with birds of prey, because dogs and cats got money but how many donated to birds of prey? They didn’t know, of course not, but they’d only get from him if he died. At least matters were settled, and secure, now he just needed to do his best to live.
That meant going to his homeworld often, as often as he could, in order to avoid his family and to make his homeworld as liveable as possible. He had everything he needed to sleep, aside from a mattress, and he had books and projects up there as well as tools and parts. He was thinking of a way to set a long time timer, and power it somehow, so he could grow herbs up there and water them even when he couldn’t be up there to do so himself. There also needed to be a way to set up solar power, so he could get lighting in the place, that was the next thing he had to read up on. It was why he’d been there, in space, today as he’d been inspecting the roof of his wonder. The shop was big, two floors plus a basement, and the roof had a good amount of space that slanted in multiple directions so he could try and cover it all in solar panels in order to catch every bit of light possible.
Clutching the notebook to his chest as he glanced about, sensing chaos nearby, Novella held tight to the notebook as he looked for which way to head so he could get home safely. He needed to get home so he could go over things, start his research, and chaos couldn’t stop him! Moving quickly, long legs carried him with ease, as he started heading in what he hoped was the opposite direction as that signature.

When she heard someone running, she picked up the pace and followed. Someone had come back to this city from somewhere, and while she didn’t particularly care about the other side, just the idea that someone was going off-world didn’t sit right with her. She caught a flash of reds and browns as she saw someone hurrying along and pulled something from subspace to throw and distract them.
What came to mind was the pocket dictionary she’d been using to figure out some of the advertisements and signs she saw while out. It was dense, if not terribly large, so she heaved it with ease right at the back of their head. Then, with some focus, she teleported to the end of the alley ahead of them and stared down at them as she stood blocking the alleyway.
“You seem to be in a hurry. I wonder why?”

He wasn’t looking over his shoulder, how could he when he needed to see what was in front of him? So when the book hit the back of his head it hit hard. “Ouch!” Shouting more in surprise than actual pain, he’d had a lot worse, his legs stopped as he halted in his attempt at escaping. They were there, right there, in front of him and blocking his path.
Well, he wasn’t going to try and fight them right off the bat seeing as they out classed him. “I was heading home, I have school in the morning.” A hope for them to understand let him go, with some heckling no doubt, but he could hope they would do nothing more than school bullies did. The idea of keeping them from killing him was so unlikely….but he’d try. He couldn’t let them kill him, he wanted to get home and live so he could continue his visits to his wonder, he wasn’t going to escalate things by drawing his walking stick yet.

Stepping forward, she went to try to snatch the book that they held so close to their chest. When her hand dipped into their chest slightly, her eyes narrowed for a moment before continuing to try to see what they were hiding.
“What’s this?” Ignoring the excuses they were making, she didn’t think she had the best gauge for age when it came to humans, nor did she fully understand the framework of the education system outside of the fact that it had specialisations when it came to university. But she wanted to see what they were hiding; if anything, it might be useful to know.

He thought she was going for his notebook, there was no reason to think otherwise, and then he felt it. It was something he’d never felt before, had never dealt with, and the shock that went through him was intense; more than the pain. It left him stunned and crying out in pain. A hand came up, without him thinking about it, and struck out towards her face.
Moving to take a staggering step back, to put some much needed distance between them, he pushed her back to add to the distance. He wasn’t into the idea of her hand inside him and would like to keep that from happening again. “I build things, I was working on plans.” Maybe if he answered her, spoke more than usual, she would be pleased and leave…or let him leave.

The swing towards her face had her stepping back, even if it seemed like they were doing it on reflex more than anything else. Taking a moment to look down at their chest and then at her hand, she was surprised that it had even happened. While she had memories of Laurelite’s hand in her chest, she hadn’t exactly been certain that was something that came with her powers.
Not that she’d been particularly motivated to go out and about while powered up until Desiree had made her the ring. Keeping her distance, she crossed her arms over her chest again as if waiting for more of an explanation. “Show me then?” It seemed bothersome, but she’d at least learned something so far this evening.

“Show you…” Trailing off he flipped open the notebook, hoping this would silence her and get her to leave him be, he paused on what he’d been working on. “I’m trying to figure out how to build solar panels on my own.” Among other things he wanted, and needed, to work on. “I build a lot.” This notebook just contained ideas for his wonder, nothing more, he didn’t have his little fantasy projects in here as they didn’t fit really. Though maybe he could find some big things to add to his wonder, something just fantasy enough, but what he didn’t know. There was a lot he could do with a whole building. First though - making it hospitable.
“Can I go now? I do have school in the morning.” And he didn’t like the danger she posed, as it seemed she might have stuck her hand into his chest without a clue she could. Was she unaware of what she could do? That made her dangerous in his book. Someone unaware of their own strength and abilities.

The sketches and notes looked fairly advanced, and scientific or at least mechanical, even if she didn’t have a base understanding of it. It was something that looked like it took time, and while she still despised the notion of planets and homeworlds, this wasn’t directly that.
Again with the mention of school, which at least meant learning and being here in this world. So she waved him away with a nod. “Run along and don’t let me catch you again.” She’d seen enough tonight, and she had to mind the time; there were only about fifteen more minutes before the ring’s effect would run out for the night.
