Reading - Jahmal enjoys reading all kinds of books, articles, and other reading material for both pleasure and study. When he reads to study, he does so in order to further his knowledge and education. He often teaches himself things by reading up how to do stuff and how things work anywhere he can find the information, whether in textbooks, on the internet, or elsewhere. He also finds it important to read for pleasure, enjoying a good fictional story every so often as well as the things he can learn from them.
Acting - This young man enjoys watching others act up on stage and performing on stage himself, but he also often acts when he needs to off-stage. If he needs to seem a certain way in order to persuade someone of something, such as causing them to believe he enjoys their company, he knows just what to do, how to do it, and what to say in order to make his behavior seem genuine. Very few can see through his often duplicitous or deceitful behavior when he puts in the effort, but fortunately he tends to reserve his acting skills for the theater rather than simply attempting to fool people off-stage because he can.
Learning New Languages - Jahmal enjoys communicating a great deal and likes to make sure he does so well. In order to communicate with a greater number of people, he studies new languages as well as he can, both through writing and speaking them so that he can be as clear and articulate as possible no matter who he intends to reach or with what message. Being understood is of great importance to him, so he places a great importance on being fluent in as many languages as he can as well.
Swordplay - Despite swords not being very commonly used in modern day, Jahmal always found the skill of swordplay to be fascinating and to take a great deal of mental and physical discipline. Because of that, he sought to teach himself the art and practices it regularly in order to not only hone his skill with a sword, but to discipline himself both mentally and physically. He also believes it's a good skill to learn in the case one ever finds it necessary to defend oneself which is a situation he's come to find is rather common in Destiny City.
Cross-dressing - Since he was very young, Jahmal has found the divide between gender roles and expectations within society to be strangely fascinating. He has always considered men and women to be equal in their own ways but because he was born male, he finds himself wanting to experience what it's like to be female every so often and cross-dresses as one way to facilitate this. He wears wigs, make-up, heels, and owns a number of outfits meant for females including dresses and skirts which he will wear out in public every now and then. He never seems to mind when he is mistaken for the opposite gender and rarely sees it necessary to correct people on those occasions.
Virtues:
Charming - Jahmal may have a sharp tongue, but it's silver as well; he knows how to use it to persuade, praise, cajole, compliment, and flatter very effectively. He can be very charismatic when he chooses to be which admittedly isn’t frequently. He doesn’t have nice things to say too often, but their rarity just makes his kind words all the more valuable, coveted, and cherished when gifted. Jahmal knows how to word things to frame anything the way he wants it to be viewed by his audience and is confident in his ability to get people to see things how he means for them to. He also knows what people want to hear and uses this knowledge to appeal to others when he finds it necessary.
Goal-Oriented - Ever since he was old enough to start to understand and make lasting memories of his surroundings, Jahmal has been both fascinated and disgusted by the world he grew up in despite it being a privileged one. He quickly became ambitious about making the world into what he considered a better place. With an analytical, assiduous, and logical mind, he's good at plotting and developing strategies to win arguments or debates and ultimately achieve any endeavor he sets out to accomplish. He's very good at getting what he wants by utilizing all the resources available to him to his best possible advantage.
Observant - Despite his rudeness, coldness, and callous-seeming ways, Jahmal is ironically actually very attentive to others’ emotions; much more so than his own. That doesn’t mean he will necessarily cater to or accommodate them, but he will treat them as he believes they deserve to be treated if he can determine the reason behind how people behave through their emotions. This is why he constantly conducts tests and social experiments to assess peoples’ characters and to determine what to think of them.
Patient - One of the reasons Jahmal is so good at getting what he wants is because he knows how to plan for the long term and how to wait. He can usually see the bigger picture of situations as a whole and knows when he needs to be patient rather than thinking he always has to take action in order to get closer to his goals. When he deems people worthy of his patience, he can also reserve some for them as well rather than being on them constantly for something if he knows they're sincerely trying to get better or to fix a mistake they made.
Flaws:
Condescending - This princely peacock p***k is one of the most haughty and condescending critics you will ever meet. He would no sooner look at someone than put them down in some way or another, though most often it’s by insulting their intelligence. He believes the world largely consists of idiots which is why he believes can’t get through to most people even when he tries to be understood in the simplest of conversations.
Antagonistic - Jahmal is, to put it frankly, a 'cast iron b***h'. Unapologetically rude, blunt, and insulting, much of what Jahmal says may seem candid and spontaneous, but usually his words are meticulously calculated and measured in order to test people and analyze their reactions. He often seeks to take out his negative feelings of annoyance, anger, and helplessness on the most arrogant peers he can find, antagonizing them by picking verbal fights. Many find him frustrating and infuriating, whether they know he's testing them or not. All of this antagonistic behavior may make him largely unpopular, but he doesn’t mind. If anything, he seems to enjoy the infamy it affords him.
Detached - This young man usually acts very nonchalant and behaves very coldly toward most people upon first meeting them. He can be hard to read due to his aloof demeanor. Even to those who know him decently, he generally acts emotionally distant and as a result, it's difficult to determine what he's feeling solely based upon his expressions, behavior, and words. He doesn't seem to care about much and thus comes off as apathetic about a great many things even if that's not actually the case, but that seems to be an intentional impression he gives off as he seems to at least be aware that he comes off that way.
Stern - As he isn't one to tolerate much when it comes to incompetency, laziness, and the like, Jahmal is very strict with both himself and others. He has an unforgiving nature that holds everyone, including himself, to very high standards and is extremely critical of nearly everything.
