Quote: Poultrygeist (10) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke. Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Trier had sent a well-written note to Necro, feeling excited to show her mentor that she was now at the same level he was. She was smug, and had wanted to get a better feel for everything before she let him know and now, she felt up to it. The note had been an invitation for him to join her at this park, that she had a surprise for him. Which, really, now that she was thinking about it she hated that she had even written those words. It sounded stupid. She sounded like a child who was bragging and…well.
Perhaps she was.
Of course there was the excuse of the strange, zapping fireflies too, he could use a warning for them, they were more of a look but don’t touch phenomenon. No matter how pretty they seemed.
A strange shape was in the darkness and Trier moved closer, frowning slightly. It looked. Like a nest? A nest filled with…eggs.
This. Huh.
Pulling her notebook out, she scribbled one last note to Necro. Also, there are eggs.
Perfect. He’d totally understand that. Maybe.

To say Necro was a little suspicious of the note... Was an understatement. What was she up to this time. The last time she'd dragged him off to see something, they had to fight some giant...frozen... slush wolf... Thing. And he was left with some scars because of it. So what this surprise could be was.... He couldn't begin to remotely guess. Then the second note practically slapped him in the face. Well, at least his suspicions about it involving animals was confirmed... Though eggs meant there wouldn't be any more slush wolf things... Probably. Maybe. The Squire sighed and made his way towards the meeting area.

Trier removed her glasses and began to wipe them with a cloth she had kept in subspace, waiting for Necro to arrive, and when she finally felt another Squire nearby she turned and put the glasses back on. “There you are.”
A smile and a small twirl to show off her new dress. Well, new to him at least.
“What do you think? Are you proud?” Not that it mattered but. It did a little bit. She supposed.
“I went up to Trier and found my ring as well. So there’s every reason to be.”
It was easy to lay it on thick with him. Easy to open up with Necro. It wasn’t something she was used to, and honestly…she kind of enjoyed it.

Necro blinked, staring at her for a long moment before breaking out into a fit of giggles. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He wheezed, before she had a chance to get huffy. She probably would anyway but he would make an attempt anyway. "Girl, what are you wearing?" Necro said in between giggles. How could she even MOVE? Okay, no. He had to get it together. "I uh.. I am very proud of you." He replied, trying to stop laughing. The Squire coughed, trying to clear his throat. "Okay. I'm sorry, really. I've got myself together, promise. Maybe. "An-anyway. You went to Trier, found your ring. What did you think? .... Also what was that about eggs?"

“I look better than you do, Mr. torn and tattered.” Trier huffed and tossed her hair back over her shoulder. “Truthfully though. I do keep tripping. I look amazing, you can’t deny that. The style and the color fit me perfectly. Plus, now I’m just as strong as you are so you have no excuse for why you’re not stronger.”
Hopefully that would land. If not…but.
“Oh. The eggs, yeah come here.” She led the other Squire to the nest and gestured, confused and hoping that he might have some insight. He’d been doing this longer and she knew that much. “I’m not…sure why there’s just a nest…oh god. What’s that smell?” It smelled like rotten eggs and Trier moved to get closer to the nest, sniffing, but then…a great horrible clucking noise came and she stiffened, looking towards the sound and seeing.
Well. It looked like some demonic cryptid chicken. And it looked pissed. <******** class="quote">[Mistress Morbid]

Necro grinned. "I've looked worse, on multiple occasions. Besides, I like the torn and tattered look. You should have seen me when I first started. It was a lot less... put together. Plus I had way longer hair then. Like... Really long." He wondered what she would have thought about it. "You'll hafta find some way to pin or tie it up some, so its not as in the way... Though the next time your uniform changes, the problem might be solved so." He shrugged slightly, following her. The Squire made a face, not getting to close. "You found a wild nest and you're asking what that smell is? Girl what did you expe- Oh what the <********>." He stared at the... creature. Whatever it was. God damn it. Not again"I'm never answering another animal related missive from you again." Necro hissed.

“To be fair, the animal part came after the part where I wanted to show off.” This was only supposed to be her showing off. Her being proud of what she had accomplished and now…
Cryptid city.
“At least. I have magic now, and not just a stick.” Though. A stick might help. “I have vines. They…tie people up. Things up.”
She focused and began to channel, the vines going and wrapping around those unsightly chicken feet. “Look for a stick? We can treat it like a pinata. Maybe there’s. Candy. Rotten egg candy…”
Disgusting. “I’m doing what I can, but let’s not die?”

"I'm still counting this as an animal part. You're lucky the first time didn't ruin wolves for me." He grumbled, shooting her a look before looking at the weird chicken... thing. "Oh yes, because I should be the one to smack it with a stick." Necro said flatly, glancing around for said stick. "Didn't we do that last time? If memory serves, one of us got bit for it." "Well, it's no youma... I can tell that for sure.." He said, with a roll of his eye summoning his own weapon. It was no stick, but he could swing it like one at the very least. As for the not dying bit... He was pretty sure at this point that he was contractually obligated to not agree to that... Any time he did, he came damn near close to doing so.

“I can’t very well hold it with my magic and whack it!” Trier’s voice was exasperated and she gestured to the vines that were holding the cryptid somewhat in place. “I’m doing what I can, my magic doesn’t cause pain, as far as I know so like…”
Why was she arguing? Maybe…and she sighed as the vines faded. They didn’t last long at all. “I’ll just smack it myself.”
The chicken thing seemed far more angry now that it was free, and lunged towards Trier, eyes wild, the smell of sulfur heavy in the air.
Yelping slightly, she darted out of the way, not wanting the thing to touch her. Salmonella times infinity.

"We could just not fight it at all!?" Necro hissed. "Seriously, last time I checked, noping the ******** right outta here was still a valid and viable option." One that didn't result in either of them getting hurt. Possibly. "Oh my god. Who let either of us outside. I would like to have words with whoever it is." He said, firing his own magic at the.... well whatever it was. "You are very rapidly acquiring a list of animals I never want to encounter again. You're also very lucky I had Nymeria before we ran into that slush wolf thing otherwise you would have been taking a very long and perma trip to my wonder."

Trier stared at Necro for a moment, torn between amusement and absolute incredulity. But…they could run. It wasn’t dignified…but they could. “You know what? Fine. Race you the hell away from here.”
With that, she took off, holding her skirt up so that she could run. Thankfully, she didn’t see the cryptid monster vanish into the night along with the eggs…which really. Was a good thing.
