Over the years the battles, the fights, had lessened in number and violence and while the general didn't mind returning home each night intact and lacking in injuries he wasn't sure how he felt on the issue. The fact that the last battle had all three factions working together, and for good reason, said a lot about the change in atmosphere as far as he was concerned. The fact that since than both sides, the major players involved in things, had been at some sort of peace since than bothered him. It wasn't a peace, not really, but he also hadn't gotten into any fights since then and nothing had broken out right after the beast had been dealt with. It was all too silent, it was bothersome, and he wanted this war over and done with and this was not how to go about ending this nonsense.
Looking out over the city from the roof top he was standing on, he'd aimed for height when deciding wher he wanted to stand, the blond had a thermos with espresso in it that he was sipping from. Holding the thermos between his gloved hands, lengths of dark fabric blowing in the wind, he couldn't sense anyone down below. It was all nice and silent, he wished he could pick up on some sort of order signature, it had been far too long. Katya was somewhere in the city, doing something, he wasn't entierly sure tonight as she'd left before he had.
So many people, on all three sides, had vanished and he did wonder from time to time what had happened to them; even order. He assumed that most had just given up, decided the fighting was never going to end, and while he understood it he couldn't agree with it. He would see this to the end if only because it had been with him so long, since he was sixteen, and he didn't know what he'd do without this taking up a place in his life. Sighing he shook his head, brushing his bangs from his face, so far this holiday season was safe but the merchant had been absent and he wasn't sure what he thought about it.

Time, how swiftly and slowly it crept. Eating up the seconds, the minutes, the years. It was strange to return after all this time. Injury and obligation having held him fast. Duty flinging him wide and then drawing him home again as though on a cord tied deep within his chest.
A deep breath... a step, and then... reaching, finding... traveling.
The night air pushing against him as he stepped out into the night air. A soft exhale of breath and a wondering gaze drifting for a moment skyward, settling like his own aura over the city.
"Benitonite" he murmured in soft greeting. "Good to see you're still with us."

While he was bored, enough to put some to tears, the blond was certainly not expecting his general king to turn up - yet here he was. "Zinkenite." Nodidng his head in greeting, perhaps even a bow was given, as he looked the other over. They were back, something he hadn't expected, they had been another swept away by time and real life he'd assumed. Unlike others who vanished, and didn't return, it looked ike the general king had decided to turn up once again. It was heart warming to see another who had been around so long, seen and done so much, one who had been around longer than he had.
"I joined with the intentionss of seeing this to the end. Order isn't strong enough to kill me." So the only way he was leaving was in a box when he was a little old man, order might want him gone and dead but they would not be getting that wish any time soon, he had honed his skills when the war was still busy with fights and battles. He was not so, me weak officer like some now, those who had seen only little one on one fights, he had earned his rank and his skills.
"I'm not about to vanish, I'm too far in, to leave would be pointless and make all this time a waste - I dislike waste." Shrugging as he spoke the petite blond stared up at the other. "It's good to see you've returned, there is much you've missed. It is good that you've returned...we could use more power on our side." Order had far too many royals for his liking, though no new knights had stepped up to the same level as Camelot; he'd have known had someone managed to do so.

"I feel too many of us have been lured to their side over time. How many good officers have gone missing only to see new knights walking the city? It's a dangerous game we play when we speak with them."
He rolled one shoulder in a shrug. The now slightly mismatched eyes flicked for a moment to the horizon.
"Not that I doubt your commitment." He assured. "But I feel it is my duty to be mindful."

"Some have joined their ranks, that is for certain, but more I believe have vanished...given up." Far too many were gone, missing, and there had been no large scale meetings where officers had been summned by force..to take a head countof everyone. "Several I've brought in have changed sides, eventually we'll cross paths and I'll do away with them." There was no hope for them, he would not bring them back, perhaps Bazzite if he found him but only because he remebered the orders of their Queen. She had understood his reasoning, when he had been too hurt to think of such things, she had thought about his feelings and considered them - she woud be why he lived.
"It may be your duty but it is mine as well, a duty those of us who have seen so much carry, it is not something for you to bare alone." Duty was something they all had but the duty the other spoke of, that he felt they meant, was one which the old guard should all carry. "Our enimies have expanded....reached out to space to bring more to our home." To earth, of course, because this was their home and it did not belong to order. "Some who change sides are good but that is rare. Wolframite got lucky, he helped in corrupting a senshi, they are capable. But it is rare such is found; somehow order turns our own officers into knights. It is a risk and the rewards for us rare and not worth it." He would not have done as Wolframite and yet the other had managed it. It wasn't that he himself lacked skill but rather he'd had failures in turning others to their side; it was a waste of his time and efforts. "Order is somehow skilled in this." They needed to be dealt with before more left the ranks of the Negaverse, and joined the other side.

Zinkenite made a hissing sound, though clenched teeth of displeasure to know that the so-called side of 'order' had gained further foothold.
"I'm not entirely shocked, their willing enough to recruit practically toddlers. Though some of them blame the cats." He reached up and pinched his nose for a moment, taking a moment before pulling his mask down under his chin.
"I see we have our work cut out for us then. What have you and yours noticed with boots on the ground?"

"I blame them both, the cats for doing it and the adults for allowing it, for not keeping the children out and away." The fact they allowed it, that the cats thought it was ok, it was enraging really. He'd been young but he had been old enough to make his own choices, to understand things better than a preteen, and it had still taken it's toll on him. Those poor children...a shame they were senshi; they'd still need to die in the end.
"We have a partical alliance with some aliens, from a synthetic planet as their own has been dying. Some of their kind side with order, including their broken senshi who can't even power up. We have alien senshi who lived on dead worlds and have come here to infest our city. They are aliens and thus don't fit in - easy to spot. They may carry baggage with them, having lived alone as they did for so long, but others may be fanatical. They'll be a mix bag. So far though not much has happened as far as fighting, not since a great beast broke loose of it's space prison and tried to remove all of us - it failed. Since then it seems there is a sort of lull in things, we know that won't last forever." It never did, it couldn't, things needed to be put to rest eventually.
"It's all been energy gathering from what me and my own have seen. The only issue is more royals as well. We have five sovereigns, coutning you, and our Queen." Since something had happened with Faustite, though what he didn't know. "Order has four that are active...Castor and Polaris I have not seen in years." But if either were to turn up it wouod increase the numbers and over take them. "Also Iris, that rainbow princess...she's been gone even longer." Since before the General King had vanished, the same for Polaris. "There are knights of the moon now, and each of the new royals has their own knights as well." It meant more knights to deal with, symbols to look out for, and more officers who served the wrong side.

The corner of Zinkenite's eye twitched slightly at the mention of aliens, aliens and... yet more aliens. A pained sound escaped his throat at the very thought.
"So... alien souls reborn on Earth... regular senshi, let's call them. And now... aliens we are partially allied with, partially not... and yet... more aliens whose home worlds are well and properly gone, not even bothering to be born ... here?" He tilted the last word into a question, trying not to grit his teeth at the compounding problem.
"Wonderful." He added with dripping sarcasm. "Are they able to be swayed to a proper way of thinking? Or are they akin to the ascended senshi?"

"You got the jist of it, yes. They were waiting about up in space and up and decided to come here, no being reborn, and join in on a fight that isn't their buisness." Because of cours that was how things went when senshi were involved. To see the taller males reaction was almost entertaining, he also did pity him, the other had missed a lot and it would take time to catch him up on things, though he was making progress, the smaller general didn't want to throw everything at him all at once.
"Some might, I've not tried, I figure a thousand years alone can breed some resentment towards ones circumstances and their planet. But not.....they are not like transcended or ascended - was can corrupt them. From the files I have one has already been swayed." By Chalcanthite, though he didn't mention his fellow general ,it did remind him of something else...soething big.
"We now own a hospital it the city, some of our own ranks work there, so we're shuffled off to a private area. We also own a club, to collect energy from light sticks, and General Chalcanthite opened a lounge of sorts...with his sister. The cups collect energy. As for myself...I've got a greenhouse full of energy gathering plants, in the dark kingdom, I'll be spreading them about soon. We spent a lot of energy only a few months ago - we need to build up a surplus again." Big and important things, things order would find harder to find out about tha nthe plots of old. These had been going for months now...and would continue to do so. The plants though, his plants, he was proud of that and if he seemed to puff up a bit...well who was going to blame him for it? It was no easy task to breed plants and mutate them as he hd...to manipulate the genetics so much.
"As much as the fights aren't breaking out things have gone to hell...and yet we've been cultivating ways to gather energy under the table. The senshi and knight issue grows in numbers and we build in other ways." A sip from his nearly forgotten thermos as he tippedhis head back, pale eyes closing for a moment, might as well savor the cooling beverage. It was a nice night, a good night, and while the topic was less than pleasing the company was far better. This man, who wasn't much older than he was, had brought him into the Negaverse and the blond held more respect for him than most. To catch him up on the situation was something he took pride in, he also felt pity for dropping him into such a situation but he needed to properly inform him of things, it would be good to have Zinkenite back. He liked how the other operated and it was reassuring to know he was back.

"Some excellent news at least, to finally have locations we can build on. I remember what seems not so long ago that it seemed only a dream doomed to failure to want to build such things." He said quietly.
He might have frowned just a little at the mention of glow sticks, but shook it off. Focus for now on the better things, the improvements. If he got lost in the fact it felt like...
Well, never mind that. If he lost himself in the negative, then he'd never feel the joy of small victories again.
"I look forward to hearing and seeing more of your work with the plants, truly innovative. I don't think we've done much with them other than... well, you might remember when we had youma like monsters attacking; it's been some time though... perhaps best forgotten."

"Yes, some very good news. Both the club and lounge employ officers, though I assume there are normal civilians as well, the cups at the lounge are gathered and processed in the back and the club sends them off for processing. When the glow sticks no longer glow out they are full; and we just keep replacing them. Each time someone has fiished a drinnk at the lounge we give a new cup, the other one considered full." It meant a lot of workikers to keep track of things, to pick up glow sticks and remove full one from peoples hands and replace them. It was lots of jobs officers could get, or even a shift here or there people could pick up jus tto make quota; and not money.
"Yes, I do remember plants attacking, as well as a Christmas tree." A twist of his lips, an upward twist, and a small hint of laughter. That had been a very long time ago and yet it was hard to forget, nearly impossible really, how does one forget a Christmas tree attacking people? Rather hard really. Plants had alwas been a love of his, a passion, so for those who knew him well it was no shock what he had been working on and building up to.

"Clever mechanics." He admitted. "I suspect I know who came up with the glow sticks, but the cups are particularly clever as well. Clean and fresh cups are a very reasonable service to offer after all." He mused. "I assume parks and such for maximizing your gains when you execute your plot with the plants? Truly... a laud your hard work."

"Indeed, and they even came up with pins for employees to wear; so they don't get drained." He would, of course, be employing the same idea for his own job, otherwise handling his plants would becoe a work hazard..among other things. There would be no work getting done if everyone was drained, while working, to the point of unconsiousness. It would be counter productive, so having work pins on everyone would be essential. He just needed a design, something simple and easy, it wouldn't take long to come up with and perhaps that was why he'd yet to do so.
"Of course, plus they can be blended in and thus hard to find. I can't have order figuring out my plants, and having them grouped together would be an issue. In a park they can be spread out and sporadic." So no one became too drained, to the point of being noticible, and it would make destroying them all hard, if they were spread out and needed hunting down by order, most also wouldn't suspect plants of all things. "I have always appreciated plants...and the power they have." From those that could heal to those that could kill...they had a certain power people tended to overlook, something people of previous generations didn't do. Another sip from his drink, draining his thermos, and he almost pouted at the object in his hands before sendiing it off to subspace.

"I suppose you could do the same with uniform shirts or the like." He mused, for your plants, I mean, then shook his head again at the cleverness of it. So many clever people doing things he once would have thought impossible.
He chuckled softly at the sullen expression after the thermos was drained and nodded his chin towards the skyline. "I can't stay out much longer without attracting a great deal of attention, but are you patrolling tonight?"

"I could, that might be a good idea." Because a pin on a landscaper might attract too much attention, seem too odd, but the uniform shirts might work. He wasn't sure if it would mean more work, or if washing and cleanign would affect anything, but it would be something he'd try and figure out. A task he'd take to Katya as soon as he could.
"Mmm, some of our general kings are not always as such - their signature says general as does their uniform. They stand out less." He was, of course, thinking of Jet as glanced over Zinkenite before nodding his head once. "Of course, things may have gotten slower but that does't mean duty stops. The energy is still needed, much was used months back during the attempt on this planet."
