Whatever had been going on, the lightning, the monsters, the general nopeness of the season finally seemed to have calmed. That didn’t mean that going out to drain alone felt any better. Each sound he heard, each flicker of what might be someone or something, even the normal sounds of the city, had Lietner jumpy. The wraiths did their job, though, regardless of his anxiety about being out alone. If that general showed up again, there was proof he was at least doing something; even though it hadn’t happened yet, he always worried they might reappear when he least expected it.
Ducking down into a quieter alleyway, he took a moment to try and figure out if he could feel anyone around. It wasn’t easy for him still; the half hints of something always left him worried even if nothing came from it. At least he didn’t feel anything like either general at the moment, a fact that let some of the tightness in his chest ease. Letting his head tilt back and rest against the bricks, he half wished he’d asked for Hedwig to come with him. Maybe after a few more solo outings, it would be enough that he could justify asking them to help watch his back again.

He felt something; it was strange, not like the other senshi on the side of chaos, not like him. But it didn’t feel like ‘order’ did either. Not that crawling sensation of wrongness under his skin. That was what led Deucalion to investigate; his boots crunched softly against the smattering of sand and gravel that scattered the pavement as he attempted to locate the source of the strange sensation…
“Hello?” He called after a moment, when it led him to an alleyway, and he could see someone in the shadows of it. Not clearly, perhaps, but enough to know that someone was there.
He knew he had magic, and that it should help him in time of need; he knew he needed to use it to get stronger as well, so even if this was a fight to be had, he was ‘ready’. He wasn’t going to bother anyone by asking for help, and besides… Liebthenite, the one he knew best, couldn’t teleport and… was armed with a soggy ice pop. The best either of them could do was resort to punches, though he had to admit Liebthenite did hit harder from when they sparred.

At first, he froze, trying not to get noticed as someone called out. At least that was the plan until one of his wraiths began to wander back, a little too visible given how much energy they’d munched on. So he had two options, which didn’t mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. They hadn’t seen him yet, at least hopefully, so he could let that haze help deter them from coming at him. The idea of running always seemed best, but he didn’t know if they could just appear and grab him if he tried to bolt.
Exhaling, trying to focus, he mumbled softly. “Can you feel it?” The next breath left that haze spreading, one he didn’t enjoy personally, but it seemed a good enough deterrent, and if someone did try to get close, then he could make them regret it, and hopefully get away without getting his soul ripped out again. Again, he wished Hedwig were here; that magic of theirs made enemies easier to manage, easier to actually use his magic without having to worry over collateral damage.
It was hard to keep the shaking in his hands down as he pressed himself more into the shadow, ducking slightly behind the cover of the dumpster as best as he could without making much noise.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Can you feel it?
Leitner exhales over his palms as he speaks his magic, a sickening haze seeming to spread from him and can affect all enemies within radius. It clings to him closest, but if he comes in contact with someone or scratches them, then the effects truly begin. A moderate infestation overtakes them: the sensation of a moderate itching beneath the skin, almost like crawling insects, followed by a feeling that something rotten has taken hold even deeper into their core, something that can't be cured or removed. When breathing, they may taste rot or mold. It may even appear like the black marks or sores are spreading as if everything is sinking deeper into them. Players may choose to have their senshi have any psychological effects if they have issues related to bugs or things of that nature. There is the sensation of mild damage this time on the skin or if the contact point is in the mouth, then it can potentially go a bit further back down the throat. But otherwise, anything deeper would not be due to the magic but standard physical contact. When the magic fades, players may choose to take lasting damage or retain a lingering grey or black taint/color on their skin, similar to mold or sores from an infection, at the contact point for a short while after the battle. Players may also choose to have this damage scar.
Range: 15 feet Time: 30 seconds Uses: 2 Per battle

“Hello? I don’t think we’re enemies; you don’t feel like Order.” He called cautiously, pushing his hat back slightly from his brow to see better; the wide rim could be something of an impediment, but at least if he ever had to go out in the daylight he wouldn’t have to explain odd uniform burns, and lord only knew what the cracks in his chest and forehead would do with a sunburn.
“My Name is Deucalion; I’m the Senshi of Famine.”
He… thought there was maybe someone there in the area of the dumpster; more feeling than sight was the giveaway. They seemed so determined to hide; he wasn’t sure he should push the issue.
Maybe if he took off the hat…. He crept closer into the strange haze that lingered in the air. Back alleyways did sometimes have a…miasma, but he didn’t recall them ever being quite so visible.
Bugs… bugs crawling on and under his skin, it felt like; distressed, he raised his hands to scratch at his arms and shoulders under the long uniform sleeves he wore; it had a -taste- too, which was even worse. Like, moldy bread but creeping into the back of his throat. He turned quickly to a wall and found himself heaving the contents of his dinner back into an oily puddle on the ground so foul was the taste.
“Oh gods… “ He bemoaned. “What IS that?!”

They seemed… so different than the generals, then he heard them say senshi. He hadn’t met one aside from Melpomene and Hedwig, but they were part of the mirror court too. It had him hesitate, starting to lean forward to try and peer around the dumpster. The scene before him was one he’d half hoped would happen when he used his magic, which meant this definitely was someone who might be new or at least a normal ******** human being unlike the last two generals.
But that didn’t mean they weren’t able to do whatever the generals did, right? Melpomene never really told him about the rest of that, mostly about the wraiths and how mirrors worked. But that was also because he’d been avoiding doing anything remotely productive until a few weeks back. Feeling a bit braver, he stood and half ducked out from behind the dumpster.
“Urgh…” Gross, they were vomiting; well, you couldn’t fake that. He wasn’t going to apologize, not really, but he did take a tentative step closer and looked over them. There were holes in them, in their head and chest, and he didn’t really like that, to be honest.
“You’re not like… gonna yank my soul out, right?” Holding his hand out as he moved closer, he knew he could make it worse if he touched them, and it would be so easy while they were hunched over, heaving.

“Oh… gods I’m so sorry.” He pressed a hand against his stomach, embarrassed to be so distressed by the taste, the miasma…
“No, no, I am not about to rip out souls. I am only out to collect energy on assignment.” He felt his stomach cramp again, though he appreciated the cautious reach; he was glad he hadn’t been touched; he thought if he threw up with someone’s hand on his back or, trying to hold back the extra abundance of hair that seemed to grow when he powered up, he’d die of embarassment.
Were… his hands glowing though? Or, well, not quite glowing, but ready to defend himself, he rather thought.
That too was when he noticed that his fingers looked to sport blackening sores that were spreading up his fingers and possibly further up his arms.
“Was this…. Was this YOU?” He demanded, offended and a little hurt, though he didn’t know the man. It did sound like he had reason to be cautious, to be fair.

Apologizing for puking, he hadn’t even had that when someone had heaved on him at the club after one too many. It felt so jarring to hear it from someone who could maybe yank souls. Pulling his hands back slightly, rubbing at his stomach as he coughed and waved the haze from in front of him, he figured it would be best not to let them know it was his fault.
“No, I don’t know what this is. I’m Hedwig of Adoration.” He was sure Hedwig wouldn’t mind getting thrown under the bus for a moment. It wasn’t the best lie, but he still felt wary of being so close to them.
“Maybe some of that freaky stuff like that hell chicken…” Though that smell was something way different and unholy in another right. Taking a step back, he looked around for his other wraith, given the fact that the other one had returned. It was lagging along slowly; he always wondered if one of them was lazy or something. It even brushed against Deucalion as it passed, something he winced at slightly and hoped they wouldn’t get pissed over the tiny tap on their energy.

They… clearly waved the smog away from themselves, and more than that, they didn’t seem to be inclined to lose their supper.
Hedwig of Adoration? He somewhat doubted it.
“The first pangs.” He said through clenched teeth. It wouldn’t rip anyone’s soul out, but he could at least imply he could hold his own… right?
Sailor Scout Attack: The First Pangs - Cramping hunger pains, a stabbing pang of hunger, potentially accompanied by embarrassing sounds to go with it. The closer you are to Deucalion, the stronger these pangs are. The attack lasts for 25 seconds, and works on targets within a 5-7 foot radius Can be cast 3 times daily

This time the gagging was real, but not because he was effected by his own magic. Something twisted in his stomach, and he clenched his teeth to not heave too. Another step back, Leitner looked down the alleyway, thinking how far a mirror might be. Since his wraiths were back, he could get out of here anyway.
Another cramp, as if he hadn’t had anything to eat today, which… as he thought about it, he’d been so busy with things he hadn’t had much besides the rejected chocolates that hadn’t had a good enough sheen on them after tempering.
Each step back seemed to make things feel slightly better. “Maybe we should get out of this alleyway then, considering the haze.” And then he started to book it, running as fast as he could down the alleyway.

“You!!!” He protested, and then fought another wave of sickness as the other passed. “It was you!!” He stumbled after, frustrated and confused as to why he’d been assaulted in the first place. “I’m not going to rip your stupid soul out!! I just want you to stop making me want to vomit more!!” He protested and gave a half-hearted chase, hat in hand, spattered boots, nauseous and feeling like things were crawling under his skin.
Really, he’d need to be so much more cautious of such miasmas in the future, especially if he ran into this particular skittish individual again.
