Hobbies:
Photography: Taking pictures soothes something inside of Linzie’s ruffled soul. It always has. But not pictures of people. No, she prefers to take shots of animals, places, things. And if she’s allowed to let her tastes and aesthetics run free, she will happily create moody, atmospheric images meant to evoke a kind of seductive unease. Her personal favorite ‘subject’ is the woods just outside of the city. Preferably drenched in the kind of deep, misty fog that clings to leaf and branch. And if it can be shot closer to dusk, all the better. Also, no fancy digital s**t for her. Linzie goes old school when it comes to her equipment. She even converted the spare bedroom in her apartment into a darkroom in order to process her own film.

Baking: Do you know what Linzie loves even more than photography? Baking. Her grandmama taught her how when she was just a little kid. And when she left Maine, grandmama gave her all of her old recipes for breads, cakes, pies. You name it, grandmama had a recipe for it! And now, Linzie has all of those recipes as well as newer efforts to wallow happily in. It is not unusual to find her in her kitchen at least once a week baking up enough food to outfit an army platoon. And that’s not even counting the fugue she slips into during the holiday season. Her friends and neighbors have learned to both fear and love the most wonderful time of the year. They know they’ll be on the receiving end of tasty treats. But ye gods, does Linzie have to give them so much?!?

Witchy Things: Linzie is a fiercely proud member of the Abenaki and was taught as much of their cultural heritage as she could absorb growing up. What they believed. Who they prayed to. It fascinated tiny her and paved the way for her to keep learning about other belief systems and rituals. Somewhere around age fifteen or so, this evolved into a fascination with and love of all things pagan and witchy. She collects crystals, she sages (though she doesn’t use sage, but her own little blend of lovely smelling herbs). She performs goddamned rituals every full moon and makes her lemonade with moonwater. It brings her peace and happiness to blend her own peoples’ beliefs with something new to make a wonderful new thing that is entirely her own.

Virtues:
Steadfast: Linzie’s loyalty, whether given to a person, place or thing, is absolute and enduring. If it is something that she cares about or believes in, she will attach herself like glue and hold on tight come hell or high water. It makes her a wonderful, if sometimes a bit too intense, friend to have.

Every Little Detail: Part of what makes Linzie so good when it comes to getting the perfect picture or baking something complicated is her attention to detail. All details. Any details. In her considered opinion, going around and not paying attention, or worse, doing things in a sloppy, slapdash manner, is tantamount to chaos. And that is not for her. Linzie likes to tell people that if the devil is in the details, she’s making that jackass her b***h.

Protective: Since the time she could toddle, Linzie was a protector. At first, it was dolls and kittens. As she grew, her protective nature grew with her. It doesn’t matter who you are, if Linzie sees a genuinely wronged party in need of backup and support, she’s there. The party in question doesn’t even have to be human. She’s chained herself to endangered trees, squared up to school yard bullies and, on one memorable occasion, gave her sister’s abusive, POS ex-boyfriend a fractured larynx when he thought he could lay hands on her. Point is, if Linzie thinks you need a guardian angel, she’s happy to fill the role, no questions asked.

Flaws:
Eye for an Eye: Being loyal and protective are admirable qualities. Unfortunately, at least in Linzie’s case, they also come with a rather stubborn and draconian idea of justice. She is fully ready and willing to be the vindictive, vengeful b***h if she feels it's needed. Particularly if the more socially acceptable forms of justice move too slowly or fail to punish properly. She hasn’t killed anyone yet, but she has put people in the hospital and caused extensive property damage in the past, all in the name of visiting suitable retribution on the guilty.

Emotional Myopia: For all her attention to detail, Linzie is terribly prone to narrowing her focus to a single point when emotions become involved. All of her attention pinpoints to a single issue and remains there until the issue is dealt with, wider world and details be damned. The b*****d she throat punched? She’d been planning her revenge for months prior. All because she’d overheard the things he’d said to her sister during an argument. He made her sister cry. She would have been perfectly content with her obsessive plans to simply slash his tires had he not tried to hit her sister in front of her.

Superstitious: Look, the world is a big, wonderful, mysterious place. Bad and sometimes good things can happen to you when you follow certain little rituals. Or forget to do so. While you won’t catch her shunning black cats or throwing salt over her shoulder, you will find Linzie pouring thin lines of salt in front of every outside door and window. She is meticulously careful around mirrors and she avoids walking under ladders even if it requires her to take the longer route to walk anywhere. One can never be too careful, after all. Her little rituals help keep her world safe and spinning on its axis.
