Quote: The Calling ( 8 ) : A beautiful melody drifts on the air from somewhere far away. The vocals are in a language you don't quite recognize, but feel somehow familiar to you. Something about the song calls to you, but no matter where you go, the song seems to sound the same distance away. The longer it goes on, the more emotional the song becomes--and the more emotional you become. Something about the song is possessive and consuming, like it's all you can think of. Something resonates in you as the song crescendos, and the feeling is at its strongest--be they good, bad, anything, but suddenly the song fades, and there's only an emptiness inside of you. The feeling of loss is strong, and can leave someone feeling emotionally numb. Someone out there was calling to you, and you couldn't find them.

It was time ot get everything ready for the client, all the other people working had their models and set up done, now was the night of the transport. He hated driving, absolutely hated it, so he delayed the inevitable by walking on foot to his house from Blaise's to get his car. At first, it seemed normal enough, which he was glad for because he was sick of the craziness of all the weird crap and things chasing him. If he wasn't a hundred percent sure that Blaise would have driven him to his house, then he might have let them know to come with him just in case.
Just as he felt like he had made it halfway there, he thought he heard something off in the distance. It sounded like music, but he couldn't tell at first as he walked. It seemed like it was coming from the same direction as he was walking, maybe. It was quiet for a bit, leaving him straining to hear it as he walked just a bit faster towards it. Maybe there was a concert or some sort of party going on; it was summer after all, and most people didn't know about the crap that went on, so they didn't really have the foresight to stay inside and out of this crap.
Finally, after a few more blocks, the sound got louder; it sounded frantic, like it was a call for help even though he couldn't understand the words. He didn't like it, not one bit, and for a moment he wondered if putting his AirPods in might block the sound out. His heart started to race, like he was the one in danger, leaving him standing still and looking around if anyone had started following him.
Running now, trying ot still head towards his house while also avoiding whatever was going on, he tried not to freak out even as the music got more frantic, the screaming words of a language he had no clue what it was. Turning the corner onto his street, he nearly tripped over the curb as he sprinted now. It was so loud his ears felt like they might start ringing. And then, for a second, he thought he'd gone deaf as silence cut through the cacophony. It left him standing still; his shoes skidded as he halted.
Looking around, he felt almost worse than before, like the absence of the song was almost worse than the panic it brought. His breath came out raggedly as he tried to catch it from all the running. When nothing happened, no monsters or people popped out of nowhere, he walked the last block to his house and let himself into the garage. He felt off still, but given nothing else had happened, it was at least just spooky magic bullshit instead of harmful. But just in case, he brought his phone out and played music just to make sure he hadn't gone deaf. It startled him after the quiet, but sure enough, he could hear fine. That just meant it was time to hurry and get his work done so he could get back to Blaise's. This time, he'd have them meet him here to pick him up when he dropped his car back off. At least then he could have someone else around to witness whatever was going on, so he didn't feel crazy.
