Moderator's Discussion Thread
Alright. I decided that before ultimate chaos destroys this guild, we need a way to communicate about the issues in Forgotten Destiny (and maybe Parallels?) without disrupting RP.
Feel free to post here about any concerns you have. You may say what you like, but please try to remain at least somewhat respectful. This isn't a flame thread, it's basically our only defense against plot holes like the one that happened last week.
You don't have to be a mod to post, but the rules still apply.

Yeah, I'm not the best DM ever, but what happened last week was a complete disregaurd of what the other players were doing. I felt like I was given a bone and then had it taken away from me. You know?
And about Parallels, it's hard for us to move forward if no one posts there.
I don't think this Guild has gotten an honest-to-goodness update since it was started. I think we should start there.

I have a plot idea for Parallels. It isn't too original, but it'll keep the plot going, I hope.
Would it be possible to have a magicite-eating monster?

Would it be possible to have a magicite-eating monster? That's actually precisely what I had in mind. First, though, we have to get to the mines. And as far as the updates go, I mean that the Guild seriously needs to be cleaned up. I know that me and Pilotslover have been lazy as far as the story updates go. I'm hoping she sees this because me and her need to get together and do that. We also need to delete all the useless threads in the Guild. Of coarse, that's customary.

yeah, I should probably get Footsteps moving, I promise you guys I'll do something about it this week.
I must say that I agree with Tearin, Lamio, you really need to start listening to your players. I honestly know what it's like when people don't react quite how you want them too but part of RP is being adaptable. Change things at the last minute to suit your players, not change what the players are doing.
Moding a RP is difficult, people are individuals and as such demand respect for what they're doing and how they're playing.
On another note, vilya can you get your butt into villianous intent please. 3nodding Three might end up fragging the world to death at this rate.
Three: So what if I do?
*sigh*

I'd do more, but I'm afraid he'll get mad at me for messing with stuff. :\
I say leave the typical 'bored' threads. I might delete the OOC one RikuTidus made because it causes some confusion, but that's pretty much it. I also think I'll add an "OMG NEW PEOPLE" thread because I think that the hassle of navigating the guild might be affecting new recruits.

Kyou didn't make me a mod for nothing, afterall. And maybe n the NEW PEOPLE thread, we can provide simple explaination of what's what and whee in the Guild? And I know that FF13 is moving slow, but I PROMISE I'll get it moving soon. We just need to finish our business in Gamis and then the story will kick off. But I could seriously use some more RPers.

First off, don't worry about FF13. You're doing a wonderful job with it, and every RP has its low points, so it's nothing big.
I still think the magicite-eating monster would be a good idea.
I also posted the Newbie thread; it's at the top of the forum, so go ahead and check it out. If anything there seems wrong, tell me, or edit it yourself. (I was rushed when I wrote it.)
Thanks, Tearin. ^^

Pilotslover and I have brainstormed an idea to get Forgotten Destiny moving. Due to plot constrictions, we can't tell you all of it, but here are some details:
- Some characters may disappear and end up in some kind of prison if they are desired by the villain.
- This prison lies at the center of a huge maze, rigged with booby traps and mysteries.
- Characters, if caught in a trap and defeated, will seem to die. It will FEEL like they are dying. They might BELIEVE they are dying. But when they awaken, they will find themselves inside of the prison.
- Puzzles are the only way out of the prison.
- The maze was created by a certain thong-wearing villain who intends on torturing his foes in other dimensions.

look i tried writing this long message but gaia has been acting up for me every once in a while, deleting my posts and such
so yea, ive been having problems that way. secondly, ive been so busy.
i dont think you understand. i never force characters into anything. i dont know why this gets put on me. When i do, its not purposly, its because im busy in real look and might overlook a post on accident.
This is part of the problem
and it would be nice if there could be more contsructive critism, instead of just blaming the DM for everything and / or complaining
did you ever think for just a second he cant cater to everyones needs? did you ever think maybe its your fault for writing, convuluted, cryptic posts that take the DM 10 minutes a pop to read and then absorb and understand.
im not taking the SATS here. plus some people have some trouble writing consisely. there are so many adjectives, i cant tell if im reading a post or the thesaurus

Alright. Before everyone freaks out about this, I've talked it over with Lamio. We'll get this thing moving, alright? ^^
And remember, this is not a flame thread.
The RP is moving again, so no one should be immensely angry anymore. No GM is perfect, and besides, this has been a learning experience for everyone.

Ok, Mods. Here's what I've come to. This Guild has quite the number of useless threads, and some that are useful, but taking up too much space. So here's what I want to do.
Experience system threads, though useful, should probably be copied and pasted to the first post of the RP they belong to.
Same goes for any Non-Sticky free-form character portfolio threads, except, if the mods are willing enough, we can move those profiles to the stickied character portfolio. Oppinions are welcomed for that.
Spell systems and checklists like the ones for FF13 should be copied and pasted to a PM that the creator of the RP should send to him/herself and place in their save box, and anyone needing info on their character can easilly have it sent to them by the creator that way.
Beyond that, there are a few threads that have been inactive since the beginning of the year, such as the bloopers thread. These need to be deleted. No one's using them, and they're just dead weight if no one uses them. The AC thread can stay up, because when the movie finally does come out, we can use it as a reference thread for FF7 information.
Also, the Mod Jobs thread needs to be deleted. We're mods, we know our jobs. And if any of us don't know, then I know at least one of us can help them out with that.
I also suggest that we delete the Mod Report thread and Sticky the Moderator Talk thread since this one seems to be more successful in getting the mods to communicate.
The reason I'm posting this is because I don't like to do things without consulting my "Brothers (and sisters) in arms," because that would cause confusion. If we fallow through with this plan (taking questions, comments, suggestions) I will post it in the long untouched Announcements thread for the rest of the Guild members to see.
And to get the rest of the RPs going, I also suggest that we PM all of the members (Each Mod taking a section of the member list to send PMs to (Tips available to make that easier)), telling them that they need to come back and be active, or they will have to be banned from the Guild, which we obviously don't want to do, but will have to do if we are given no other choice. Also include that they will be required to reply to our messages.
Sound good. Wudda you think, guys? Should we do it? This is our chance to make this Guild look prettier than ever before!
