Solo entered the stadium to a cheer from the crowd, they of course weren't cheering so much for him as they were for the prospect of a good battle. He pulled a Poke'ball from it's clasp of his belt, taking a breathe he threw it ahead, "Requiel, you're up!"
A red flash came out of the open ball, which then became a Marill. Requiel bounced happily on her large tail, which was full of oil and was covered in specks looking amazingly like stars. Looking at her tail was like looking into the night sky. "Marill!"
On the other side of the field he saw his opponent, a girl.

Inuka was happy to enter the stadium, tossing her hair away from her face. Unclipping one of the two Poke'balls from her belt, she tossed it forward.
The blinding flash of red light cleared to reveal a Charmander, blind in it's left eye.
"You'll do great, Ryuu-chan!"

The Charmander's claws scratched across Requiel's side as she tried to dodge. "Marill!" she cried at the pain. "Requiel, tackle attack!" Solo commanded. Damage: 5.88

Ryuuichi did his best to absorb the shock of the attack, and once again used his Scratch attack upon hearing Inuka's command.
"C'mon, Ryuu-chan! You can do it! Use your scratch again!"

The Charmander's claws struck once more, scoring a direct hit they dug in much deeper than previously, doing more damage to Requiel. "Tackle it again," Solo called. Damage: 5.88

Inuka could tell that Ryuuichi was weakening. She hated to push him too far, but with the ways both of his eyes blazed with sheer competative nature... She didn't have the heart to call him back.
"Alright Ryuu-chan, you know what to do!"
With his trainer's encouraging words, Ryuuichi charged forward, preparing for another Scratch attack.

The tired-looking fire pokemon's claws once again struck true. Requiel flinched and faltered. She was looking just as worn out as Ryuuichi. Solo could see she didn't have much left in her. "Requiel, one more tackle!" he encouraged. Damage: 5.88

Inuka recalled Ryuichii, silently cursing her risk. She should've called him back when she'd had the chance... But there was no use dwelling in the past. With that thought in mind, Inuka unclipped the second Poke'ball from her belt. She tossed it forward, and after a brilliant flash of red light, a well-groomed Vulpix appeared.
"Come on Sakura, you can do it!"
Sakura paused for a long moment, tossing her forelock away from her eyes, before getting to her feet, assuming an offensive stance.

Requiel was panting hard and had obvious injuries. "Requiel, that's enough," he called, the water pokemon returning to her pokeball in a flash of red. "You did great," he said to the ball before pulling out Duma's ball. "Duma, come on out!" he said as he threw the ball, with another flash of red, a Pidgey took form and flew in a quick lap around the stadium, stretching her wings before landing in front of Solo.
"Duma, open with gust attack!" he called out.
"Pidgey!" Duma cried as she flapped her wings hard, forming a strong wind against the Vulpix.Damage: 6.23 ((Gust has 100% accuracy so no dice roll here))

The Gust attack only served to help Sakura, in a way.
"Sakura, use Ember!"
The Vulpix released her flames, and the wind from Duma's Gust caused them to quickly grow stronger.
Damage: 7.78
Effect: Duma is inflicted with burn!
