What books are P-godders reading?
By ElfOnTheMoon
Many of you might remember the thread that was posted yesterday, and the continuous heckling I did to get elaborated responces. My answers ranged from many different genres- horror to fantasy, children's books to non fiction. Harry Potter, by JK Rowling, of course, was mentioned and became the source of a debate towards the end. Another debate that went on was about movie producers' tendencies to use books as movie ideas and proceed to ruin the book. Getting back to he books, The Trickster's Choice by Tamora Peirce, or, rather, any of her works, were suggested as favorites of a couple members. Many Terry Pratchet books were mentioned here and in a past thread as beloved rereads and the author was considered a favorite author by more than a few. The Lord of the Rings series by JRR Tolkien was also suggested as a reread. Wicked by Gregory Maguire, which has been turned into a succesful musical, came up in my review of the replies. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden also came up. Others mentioned were the Series of Unfortunate Events, Dean Koontz Shadow Fires, The Wheel of Time series, House, By Frank Peretti, Monster By Frank Peretti, This Present Darkness, by Frank Peretti, and Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austin. I myself have written down a few of these as reccomendations and plan on going to the books store soon! wink
