((Not the most original plot, but I haven't started a roleplay for a while. this'll have to do.))
Dragons' End
Plot~
Many, many years ago, they earth was new. Most humans were still in their early state - passive and on the side of Earth. they had no destructive machines, no dark secrets, and all was good.
With the humans, there were also the dragons. Dragons were also with the Earth, and served Her will as they lived. For each human born, there were three dragons - mostly in the wild. But now, the reptiles are getting less common, changing, splitting into other races, and generally shrinking into an inferior race. Once, they would have rules the skies; kept men in order; held the peace. Recently, dragons have been evolving. Dragoons, Fire Lizards, Serpents, Naga, and Shifters are the "new" dragons. They have broken apart from the traditional Earth worship, and moved onto Fire, Her destructive brother. Their goal is to wipe out humans, and take Earth as their own.
The world~
The earth, as mentioned, is early. There are simple weapons such as bows and arrows, spears, and snares for hunting. There are no swords because ore in hard to find and valuable. Humans live in tent, treehousess or huts made of mud and twings, and igloos in the polar regions. Dragons live in caves or tunnels, or someplace in the wild that is able to shield them from rain and wind.
Other information~
Dragons - the original peacekeeper of the earth. They bonded with humans to generally let everyone live a perfect live. Some abilities which helped them were flight, telepathic communication with their bonded human, and night vision.
Dragoons - The closest to the old dragon race, Dragoons still hold the skies, and are not ultimately bad. Only a few of them have chosen to side with Fire; the rest are neutral. Ranging from night vision, metal talons, flight, to soothing music, these lizards have a wide range of effective, if weaker defenses.
Fire Lizards - Smaller versions of dragons. Lithe, agile, and only a foot and a half long, they are able to get places very quickly and avoid being ambushed. While they have no quarrel with the Fire followers, they still choose to stick with Earth - but no one know why...Currently, the only attacks they have are natural - prickling claws, needle-sharp teeth, and a good wing for aerial maneuvers.
Serpents - The truly evil Fire Worshippers. They may have been the ones that started the revolution in the first place. The major known thing is that they have a good hand for fire-based magic - pure destruction. But they also have weaker bodies, and don'r live the full hundred or so years o most dragons. The bonds with the few humans switched bad are also weaker; meaning that they may bond with another human if their first companion dies.
Naga - Seven-headed serpents that have lost the power to fly. They are very rare, and only occur when seven dragons of the same type choose to bond with each other to boost their magical power. Nagas are secluded, but powerful enough that they might be the winning link for the side of the battle that they can be convinced to join. For abilies, each head has a magical attack or defense, but their body is heavy, and slow, and the barbs on their tails are softer, meant to stun, not kill. Every few Nagas also has a slight power to heal, given by Earth.
Shifters -
Very like Shifters, except that they have no aptitude for fire magic. Instead, they are able to draw shadows about themselves in the art of illusion. Most of them take the dark side - the rest refuse to help the Earth fighters and liove in solitude. They feel that they are better than the other races; especially Fire Lizards/
Earth - The ultimate god and maker of the earth. She embodies all that is good, natural, and for the better of the species. Her image is of a beautiful young mother with dragon wings and two sets of arms carrying a basket of fruits and a scale of judgement. She has never appeared to the races, except in folktales and during the creation.
Fire - Earth's complete opposite. His goal is to destroy all of her works, and take over the planet as his own. No one knoew where he came from, or why now, but it's rumored that he is her brother, come back from the past in jealousy. His followers are granted with slight control and immunity over fire and heat, but are more sensitive to Water.
Water - Earth's playmate and less godly friend. It was created to watch over the humans and keep them happy, but also serves as Her messenger and dragon's guide. She appears in lakes and slow-moving streams to certain good dragons to help them in times of need. Water is shown as a shining, happy child - male or female - with gills and a mer tail, usually laughing or playing in a blubble of water. While she has no direct control over planetary matters, she is able to divert Fire by making walls of water.
Humans - the first and more beloved of Earth's creations. They walk on two legs, have little hair, but for that on their head, and devote much time to thinking and talking. For each small village, depending on the reion and climate, there are certain traits. The northern villages have pale, silvery hair and widely spaced eyes. In the forest areas they are more golden and tawny, with thick skin and red to blonde streaked hair. For the tropics, the humans there have dark skin, dark eyes, and usually dye their hair according to village. Most villages use a dark red or green.
Within tribes, there is a Storyteller; the most respected for being able to commjunicate with Water. He or she is in direct thoughts with Water while reciting the past or asking advice. the Council is the rest of the aduly village. They govern each tribe once a month; giving out punishments, accepting new members, and naming new babies. The rest of the time they are broken into groups for food gathering, repairing huts, training others in their crafts, or watching the nursery. Nearly all of them used to be bonded with a dragon, now only a few younger members and neary all the older tribespeople are. Men and women have equal status in all things, but men prefer to do the heavy work, and women mainly keep things in order.
Tribe - There are hundreds of tribes, never written down among the continent. Several of them - from south to north, are Glacier Song, Arctic Whales, Penguins, Seagulls, Fish Bubbles, Fruit Bats, Antelope, Horned Gazelles, Cougars, Sand Shapers, Mice Feet, Feathers, Birch, Salamanders, Butterfly Wings, Night Dancers, Aurore, Ice Mist, Furry Walrus. mong these are others. Most are named after animals the tribe uses most, or common items found that amaze them. The name refers not only to the tribe, but to what region they are from. If the name is an animal, it is because they look to that animal as a guide. The same for the other items or events. For the Ice Mist, they hold ceremonies during times of ice mist - early mornings or on warm days.
