Samara, coming to a Tv near you soon! LOL! Sorry I had to make that joke. Anyways this will be a roleplay based on The Ring. It's possible it could end up not being entirely PG13 but it's a horror roleplay for goodness sakes! LOL! This can be a mix of both Japanese and English versions of The Ring.

A girl slid through the "do not cross" crime scene tape. She had short black hair that looked like it had been attacked with scissors, sharp blue eyes and she wore all black. Black tights, black skirt, black shoes, black top and a black coat (even black underware but of course that wasn't visible!) Around her neck was a silver chain with a pendant of some sort on it. It was tucked under her top.

She walked into a house that had been taped off. The victum was being examined by a CSI. They looked up from what they were doing and were about to speak. The girl took a badge out of her pocket, let him see it briefly so he noticed the shape of it but not long enough to notice it was a fake.The girl crouched down beside the VHS and pulled out what looked like a blank videotape, holding it with a white cloth. She held it like any physical contact would burn her skin.

"I'm taking this tape as evidence." She stuck it in a clear plastic bag.The girl left the scene calmly just as Ryuu arrived. He gave her a brief glance.

"I don't have any. I used to live here. I'm surprised they died..."

"They?"

"Her sister is upstairs..." The girl hadn't been upstairs but she knew.

"Don't I know you from somewhere?" Ryuu put a finger under her chin to tilt her face up slightly. She was a slim girl with pale skin. He could of sworn he knew that face.

"No." She said blankly. "Now if you'll excuse me." She pulled herself loose of his grip and walked away. He was surprised at how pretty she was.

Later, back at his office, Ryuu was handed evidence from the scene. It was a second videotape. "I wonder what's on this?"

If you're wondering about the beating heart, it is in the video because I've rewatched it a few times.

But he couldn't. He felt numb. The images flashed before him. Moving objects, a flaming tree, a beating heart, maggots, a girl, fingers, a woman, a well then the ring again. Suddenly. Nothing. Just static and a cold sweat all over his body. Suddenly the phone rang. Then it dawned on him.

The tape... this must be the strange phone call people get after watching...

He answered. "H-Hello?"

"You will die in seven days..." said a vague, husky voice. Ryuu was scared but he didn't hang up. He wanted to get to the bottom of the mystery that began many years ago.

"Who is this? Answer me!!!"

"You shouldn't of gone to that house..."

"Where are you calling from?"

"I..." suddenly the signal was cut off with a load of loud static.

Actually I made a mistake. It's either the Japanese version or the Ring Two version that has the beating heart in it... oh and I'm not revealing too many details about this girl yet because I want it to gradually be found out. Sorry this post is so long! (There was a first part to this post but it contained too many details so I removed it!)

A woman with neat, brown hair began her interview. "So, tell me about the Curse Tape, what does it do?" She was making notes in a notepad.

"Well... you watch it and there's scary pictures, then, after it's finished you like, get this phonecall and a voice tells you you'll die in seven days... so you have to copy the tape and pass it on... and then another person has to watch it or you'll die..."

"Does it tell you to copy the tape on the video?"

"N-No... I don't think so, it's just what I've heard..."

"The phonecall doesn't either?"

"I don't know... that's just the rumour..."

"Have you ever seen the tape?"

"N-Never..."

"Could you get me a copy of the tape?"

"Sure. I can."

"Good, then I'd like you to bring me one." The investigator wrote down her name and the address of her TV station with a pen on a piece of paper.

"You plan on watching it?!"

"Of course. I'll need to for my investigation. I can't report on something that I haven't seen myself!"

"......... Can I ask you a question, Ms Kelso?"

"Of course! Go right ahead..." Mary Kelso got out her pen and paper again and began to write.

"There's a girl who told me not to watch the videotape. She told me to give it to her before anyone else saw it. She had a police badge. Who is she?"

"No idea but it's interesting you asked. Most people just want to know about the girl in the video. What did this girl look like...?"

"She was short, blue eyes, very pretty but she was very pale and her hair looked a mess. Like she had kept cutting it all the time. She wore nothing but black."

"I'll look into it for you. Thank you for your time. And don't forget to bring in a copy of the videotape!"

"I wont, ma'am."

Mary re-watched the video over and over. She picked up on the imagary and the significance. The trapped feeling that ate away at her body and wanting to escape. But who was that figure at the beach? She knew she had seen one just before the woman, whom she knew as Samara Morgan's mother, jumped off the cliff into the ocean. Hmmm... that looked like it was her mother... that was too tall to be Samara anyway.

"She liked to take walks on the beach..." said a voice from behind her. Mary gasped and turned around. A smile crept up on her face.

"I know who you are! There are a few reports about you, here and there, in connection to the tape..."

"There are indeed. However I wish people would stop watching it. In a way, it's embarrassing... people can't help themselves... like the girl you interviewed. And she got the time wrong."

"What? What are you talking about?"

"The clock had stoped so she assumed it was 2am when she watched it."

"How do you know all these things?"

"That's none of your business. Just don't share that tape with anyone else."

Ryuu popped into Mary's office. "YOU!?" He grabbed the girl and dragged her out of the room. Mary's laughter could be heard down the hall as Ryuu dragged the girl into his office.

"To answer the first question, I walked through the entrance, made two lefts, took the elevator to the 42nd floor and walked into her office, 13th door on the right. To answer the second, I'm here for you."

"Me?"

"You'll die without me."

"You know I watched the video?!"

"Everyone emits waves... Samara changes them..."

"Can you fix it?"

"I've tried on many others..."

"Tried?"

"Yes. They all still died. I even went to one of their funerals."

"So in other words, I'm screwed?!"

"Maybe not."

Sorry for another long post! Anyways, from now on we count down the days as they pass!

"That knife isn't going to help you. Put it away. Go home to your apartment, I'll meet you in the morning."

"Aww, you're no fun! What's your name anyway?"

"Selene." She left the building and drove home.

Selene looked in the mirror. It's getting longer... Sure enough, her hair had grown another two inches since Ryuu had seen her that day. She quickly hacked at it with a pair of scissors. Her house was a mess, like her hair. Things were packed away in boxes even though she had been living there serveral months. She didn't have the nerve to move them. The only things that remained unpacked were a set of deer antlers and a round mirror, the one she'd used to cut her hair. Selene refused to hang it on the wall and had left it, sitting on the floor, covered in dust.

Ryuu was sat alone in his apartment when his cellphone rang. "Hello?" The phone went dead. As he turned to look at it, he saw a girl reflected in the flip-screen. He turned around but nobody was there. He decided it was fateage and went to bed.
