With yin there must be yang, right?
Well, I figured that having places to vent frustrations (i.e.: the Rant Thread) is awesome and I've personally found it works great at resolving stress, but that it's also good to share the positive events that just make you want to do a Superbowl-esque victory dance where you stand, or the freakin hillarious ones that (at least in my experience) seem to come hand in hand with gender-bending in modern society. Sure this is a turbulent time when things often don't seem to go like they should, but there's also so much excitement and humor that can really help in keeping hope during rough patches....
It might not pick up, but I think it's a worthwhile thread to start anyway... sweatdrop

[Ah ha ha!
heart
For some reason it didn't occur to me, but I never knew where to stick my random happy events, since I don't like starting threads about myself.]

I was thinking the exact same thing last night...I've had a lot of good moments, but nowhere to put them unless it accompanied a picture in the Picture Thread. Yay for initiative and packers!

[My good news- I got a recommedation for the psych. I'm getting my letter for T. I was supposed to go a little while ago but I had to keep cancelling because of the overlap of finals.
biggrin
I still have to see my therapist while I go to the psych. It's hard to get appointments with him, and he's only available on Mondays, but I don't have to pay through any of it because I can get it through my school. Yaaaays. ]

Congrats guys, and I'm glad to provide a place for random happy events and stuff.... xd
This is a kinda funny story that happened to me the other day that I just had to share....This one thing helped cool a lot of depressing thoughts I've been having lately...but I guess it's true that a little laughter can go a long way.... rolleyes
Anyway, I took the bus to a ghetto-ish part of downtown the other day to check out some clothes and stuff. After I finished looking (without buying anything as I'm still kinda broke), I went to wait for the bus to go home. Anyway, there were a few boys hanging out at the bus stop, about ten or eleven years old I think, and they saw me head over there. Somehow we ended up talking about some stuff (which I was kinda surprised about 'cause without my long curly hair I look white and the guys I met at the bus-stop were...well, pretty close to the stereotypical "ghetto" black kids). They introduced themselves and asked me to do the same, so I told them my name was Casey (my temp name until I figure out my permanent name). Then they asked what school I went to....Stupidly, I told them the name of my university...
Of course, they didn't believe for a second that I could be a college student; I look twelve at the oldest. So they asked me how old I was. I had already shoved my foot as far in my mouth as possible so I wasn't going to try to bluff now. I told them I was eighteen. They still didn't believe me and I was mentally scrambling trying to figure out a way to prove my age without flashing my female ID. Suddenly I remembered my university-provided bus pass (it's a special one that has the university picture and stuff on it), and I showed it to them. They didn't want to believe it at first, but then they were like "Ok, cool....You must be some kinda really smart guy aren't ya?" We kept talking until the bus came.
I sat somewhere toward the middle of the bus while the boys sat in the back with some of their older brothers and friends (around my age and older). It wasn't long until one of the boys called out: "Casey! Get back here!" I didn't know what they wanted, but I decided to go to the back of the bus. When I got back there, some of the older guys started asking me questions like "Are you really eighteen?" and "Are you really a college student?" I told them yes, knowing they'd be harder to convince than the boys since they'd realize how easy it was to jack a bus pass. And then almost from nowhere, just as I thought they were going to demand some kind of proof or something, one of the guys shouted "Man, I know you ain't never got no p***y in your life!"
The bus driver shouted that there were women and children on the bus and that she was going to kick us off and hand us to the police if we didn't tone down the language, but I knew I had to answer the guy. He was one-uping me, and I have this instinctive competitive urge to always win at one-upmanships....At the same time, though, I was kind of glad I don't "get any p***y"... sweatdrop ...but I couldn't say that to them. So I thought quickly and made up this outrageous claim about how I got more a** than the ampitheater during an R. Kelly concert (he had performed somewhat recently there to a full house)....Anyway, they laughed like crazy, but the guy slapped me some skin and the rest followed suit. I'd earned their respect...looking like a twelve year old white kid...
Anyway, I know this post is kind of long, but I don't know how I got through the evening with a straight face....I almost got arrested, read and potentially beat up if my gay tranny-ness was revealed, but I ended up earning some street cred as a young-looking playa (and most importantly as a guy)...as soon as I got home I just laughed my a** off...

Great idea for a thread, and I love that story. Smart thinking; I'd have been shitting myself if that were me.

I find this thread to be a great idea, the rant thread not being quite appropriate for happy musings.
And that story was amusing. That was indeed some quick thinking.

Lol way to be on your toes Casey. I know if I was you I would have ended up messing up and getting my a** kicked.
Great Idea for a thread, It's better to have a place to put good things rather then just the bad.

XD My voice is too high-pitched...But that is so awesome you could do hat. ^^ You did it! =D
The only thing that happened to me like that was, a while ago, I was walking with my brother home from school. And my brother says to me: "Yesterday, My friend, 'So-and-so' asked me: "Whose that guy walking with you" and I said: "My sister." XD
Secretly, I was so happy...I dunno. XD I guess that means I am a Transgent? XD
